Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Her ongoing mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life-forms and new civilizations; to boldly go where no one has gone before.
Star Trek (2009) dir. J.J. Abrams
‘We are arriving,’ Mantis said to the Guardians. Teenage Groot in a seat. They describe this place as 'dangerous.’ The body of Thor lands on their windshield. His hair is short. Rocket is startled. Mantis wakes him up using her powers. Thor is startled. All of the Guardians look at him, prompting him to ask who they are. The ship zips through the cosmos. Elsewhere, Wanda dodges some white energy, and it breaks a truck. Somewhere else, Loki stands in ruin, presenting the Tesseract to someone. Peter’s Spider-Sense takes off as he rides a bus. Tony prepares for battle. He is in space with the Guardians.
“Fun really isn’t something one considers when balancing the universe,’ Thanos said. 'This does put a smile on my face.’ Gamora looks on, terrified. The Guardians observe ruin in many places across Earth and the cosmos. Thanos warps into this new world. Star-Lord battles him. Strange battles him. Spider-man, in his new suit, battles him. Winter Soldier battles on Earth. Wakanda readies to defend their territory. Cap steps out of the shadows, bearded, with longer hair. Hulkbuster fights. Black Panther fights the four legged creature from Infinity. Thor’s head is squeezed by Thanos. Thanos pummels Iron Man in a fight. The Guardians are all defeated. Thanos has assembled the Infinity Gauntlet. He throws energy from a hole in space.
Avengers tower comes into frame. Clips from The Avengers, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Iron Man 2, and Iron Man 3 play.

Bored doodling, the Sailor Moon sequel we’ve all been waiting for. Chibiusa is a full fledged senshi but her guardians are missing??? Chibiusa must travel to a strange new world, find and reawaken the Amazon Quartet and defeat the evil trying to sabotage the new generation of sailor scouts!
I do like the Amazon Quartet but I wish their hair wasn’t so gosh darned silly.
Space: The Final Frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission: To explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before.
❛ My power over you grows stronger yet. ❜
❛ Phantom of the Opera is there, inside your mind. ❜
❛ Your part is silent, little toad! ❜
❛ Perhaps it is you who are the toad… ❜
❛ Flattering child, you shall know me, see why in shadow I hide! ❜
❛ Seal my fate tonight. ❜
❛ I hate to have to cut the fun short, but the joke’s wearing thin. ❜
❛ Let the audience in. ❜
❛ God, give me courage to show you you are not alone! ❜
❛ Pitiful creature of darkness, what kind of life have you known? ❜
❛ I heard as I’d never heard before. ❜
❛ What you heard was a dream and nothing more. ❜
❛ Those pleading eyes, that both threaten and adore… ❜
❛ That voice which calls to me and speaks my name. ❜
❛ And do I dream again? ❜
❛ You have come here, in pursuit of your deepest urge. ❜
❛ I have brought you, that our passions may fuse and merge. ❜
❛ In your mind you’ve already sucummed to me. ❜
❛ Now you are here with me. No second thoughts. ❜
❛ Past the point of no return. ❜
❛ What raging fire shall flood the soul? ❜
❛ What rich desires unlock its door? ❜
❛ What sweet seductions lie before us? ❜
❛ Those who have seen your face draw back in fear. ❜
❛ Did you think that I had left you for good? ❜
❛ Down once more to the dungeon of my black despair! ❜
❛ You’ve past the point of no return. ❜
❛ You try my patience make your choice. ❜
❛ I gave you my mind blindly. ❜
❛ Wandering child, so lost, so helpless, yearning for my guidance. ❜
❛ Have you forgotten your Angel? ❜
❛ Wildly my mind beats against you… ❜
❛ Think of me, think of me waking, silent and resigne. ❜
❛ Imagine me, trying too hard to put you from my mind. ❜
❛ Can I ever forget that sight? ❜
❛ Can I ever escape from that face? ❜
❛ Past the point of no return - no going back now. ❜
❛ When will the flames, at last, consume us? ❜
❛ When will the blood begin to race? ❜
❛ I remember… there was mist. ❜
❛ Who was that shape in the shadows? ❜
❛ Whose is that face in the mask? ❜
❛ Damn you! You little prying Pandora! You little demon! ❜
❛ Is this what you wanted to see? Curse you! ❜
❛ Now you cannot ever be free! ❜
❛ Come. We must return. ❜
❛ Those two fools who run my theater will be missing you. ❜
❛ No kind word from anyone! No compassion anywhere! ❜
❛ Say you’ll share with me one love, one lifetime. ❜
❛ Lead me, save me from my solitude. ❜
❛ Say you’ll want me with you here beside you. ❜
❛ Anywhere you go, let me go too. ❜
❛ Can you even dare to look or bear to think of me? ❜
❛ Have you no pity? ❜
❛ Your lover makes a passionate plea. ❜
❛ Let your mind start a journey to a strange new world! ❜
❛ Leave all thoughts of the life you knew before! ❜
❛ Only then can you belong to me… ❜
❛ You alone can make my song take flight. ❜
❛ It’s over now, the music of the night. ❜
❛ Twisted every way, what answer can I give? ❜
❛ Say you love him/her, and my life is over! ❜
❛ Now, let it be war upon you both! ❜
❛ See you later, because I’m going now. ❜
❛ This haunted face holds no horror for me now. ❜
❛ It’s in your soul that the true distortion lies. ❜
❛ For the past three years, these things do happen! ❜
❛ And did you stop them from happening? No! ❜
❛ Why have you brought me here? ❜
❛ We can’t go back there. ❜
❛ I can’t escape from him/her/them… ❜
❛ Raise up your hand to the level of your eyes! ❜
❛ Refuse me, and you send your lover to his death! ❜
❛ Go now, don’t let them find you. ❜
❛ I fought so hard to free you! ❜
❛ Say you love me. ❜
❛ Your chains are still mine! You belong to me! ❜
❛ Wait! I think my dear, we have a guest. ❜
❛ I had rather hoped that you would come. ❜
❛ Free him/her! Do what you like only free him/her! ❜
❛ Does that mean nothing I love him/her! Show some compassion! ❜
❛ The world showed no compassion to me! ❜
❛ Did you think that I would harm him/her? ❜
❛ Too late for prayers and useless pity! ❜
❛ You little demon - is this what you wanted to see? ❜
❛ Farewell, my fallen idol and false friend. ❜
❛ Look around, there’s another mask behind you! ❜
❛ Please promise me that sometimes, you will think… of me! ❜
❛ Where in the world have you been hiding? ❜
❛ I only wish I knew your secret. ❜
❛ Who is your great tutor? ❜
❛ Why you spray on my chin all the time, huh? ❜
❛ The final threshold! ❜
❛ They say that this youth has set my lady’s heart aflame! ❜
❛ Go away, for the trap is set and waits for its prey! ❜
❛ There is no phantom of the opera. ❜
❛ Look, your future bride! Just think of it! ❜
❛ Please don’t, they’ll see. ❜
❛ But why is it secret? What have we to hide? ❜
❛ It’s an engagement, not a crime! ❜
New digs for Oscar Perry! Finally had the time and materials to put this together. So far he’s rather suspicious of this strange new world but I hope he’ll enjoy it once he settles in.
Excavator clay with some sand and soil mixed in. Caves are supported by stones, old hides, a piece of tupperware, bits from the hardware store…. whatever worked! He’s got six hides in total including two humid ones. A couple go down to the bottom of the tank, allowing for the use of a UTH, while the rest of the heating is supplied by a CHE overhead. UV is also provided.
This new episode brought a shit ton of character development and I can’t stop thinking about Morty. Even though Morty seems to do nothing compared to Summer this episode, I think so much about him is revealed. It’s referenced multiple times in the series that we’ve been following the “Rickest Rick”, from the moment the Citadel of Ricks was introduced. With it came the concept of the “Mortiest Morty”, something Rick initially says to comfort Morty after he realizes he’s basically just brain wave camouflage. But I don’t think this is true. I think our Morty is the “Un-Mortiest Morty”
It makes sense that we have the Un-Mortiest Morty, a smarter Morty (not an eyepatch Morty kind of smart, but in more of a perceptive way). That’s what makes our pair so interesting- they’re at the two opposite ends of their own personal spectrums. If you really think about it, the Mortiest Morty would probably be the dumbest Morty, someone like Lawyer Morty (who Morty even realizes is a horrible “lawyer”, since he’s just a dumb Morty). The Mortiest Morty is one who blindly follows Rick with complete devotion and is the brunt of the joke most of the time, even if he doesn’t realize it. Our Morty is smarter than he’s given credit for. He may not be a scientist, but he’s smart enough to realize Rick probably has some kind of plan to escape prison, even if he has no clue what it is.
When Morty and Summer are told their Rick has been assassinated, Morty still yells at the council “If you think my Rick is dead he’s alive, and if you think you’re safe he’s coming for you!” If another Morty was told their Rick was dead, they would be completely lost. Our Morty is smarter than this, and also more devoted to his parents and sister than to Rick at this point. He understands Rick in a way they never will, and in all honesty he probably doesn’t even want them to understand. This time apart from Rick has made Morty realize how much better the family is without him. Even if Beth and Summer are heartbroken that Rick is gone, it’s still better than them truly realizing Rick will never care about them. Rick will say and do enough to make sure they still idolize him (Summer even calls him her hero!!), but Morty knows Rick truly wouldn’t give a shit about them if they couldn’t improve his existence in some way. Morty is his camoflauge, Beth gives him a rent-free place for his workshop, and he acknowledges Summer to stay on Beth’s (and honestly Morty’s) good side and keep benefiting from them. He thrives off of having power over people, and his family is no exception. Our Morty gets this and even says it to Summer, but she especially still clings to the hope that Rick loves her deep down. And maybe he does very deep down in his own way. He is still human after all, and a few times they’ve shown Rick with at least some kind of emotion.
This whole thing is supported even more by the fact that Morty tries to talk Summer down from trying to rescue Rick instead of trying to help. The Mortiest Morty would jump at the chance to help Rick. Yes, our Morty knows Rick can handle himself, but he also cares more about his family and knows that Summer is better off without him. Even if their new, alien-run world is strange, it’s better for his family than when Rick isn’t around. His parents’ marriage is in a better place, Summer can lead a more normal life (as he says), and honestly Morty probably just enjoys the temporary calm, because he knows Rick will be back. But since he has no idea how or when, he won’t reveal this to anyone. Our Morty even tries to kill Rick to save his sister (and end Rick’s relentless teasing, because he knows he is smarter than Rick gives him credit for). Just the fact that he has the courage to turn on his Rick and actually pull the trigger in favor of Summer shows how un-Morty our Morty really is.
So yeah. There’s so much going on in this new episode it’s hard to get through all of it. And I know this sounds very anti-Rick, but I think this is how Morty sees everything.
Around a distant star 420 light years away is a planet with such huge rings that they’re 200 times larger than the rings of Saturn, J1407b. The rings are about 74,560,000 miles in diameter and contain about as much mass as Earth itself. Gaps in the rings, like we see in Saturn’s rings, are likely created by exomoons orbiting around the planet, clearing out paths between the rings and keeping them distinct.

The Planet of Burning Ice
The most remarkable things happen when you push physics to extremes.
Far away in the Gliese star system is a Neptune-sized planet called Gliese 436 b. This world is covered in ice that burns constantly at 822.2˚ Fahrenheit (439˚ C).
The reason why the water doesn’t liquify and then turn into steam is due to the massive gravity of the planet - it exerts so much force on the water that the atoms are bound tightly together as a solid: burning ice.

The Diamond Planet
At about 7.8 times the mass of Earth, 55 Cancri e is an extremely carbon-rich planet orbiting a carbon-rich star. The intense density of the planet means that about 2/3rds of this planet’s core is made up of diamond. It’s literally a giant diamond (larger than Earth).

Hd 188753 Ab is a planet candidate with three suns. That’s more than even Luke Skywalker got! It turns out that binary star systems are actually quite common, however, and there are many worlds out there where the sunsets would happen twice (or more) a day. Maybe one day a lucky couple will sit beneath a pair of setting suns, holding hands as each star dips below the alien horizon.

The Water World (Miller’s Planet?)
GJ 1214b is 42 light years away from Earth. It’s 25% rock surrounded by 75% water. Its surface is an endless ocean not too dissimilar from what you’d see floating on a boat in the middle of the ocean on Earth.
As you go deeper below the surface though, you’d eventually hit ice. The water surrounding the core isn’t ice because of temperature though: the pressure of the water above it is so intense that it crushes the water below from a liquid into a solid form known as “ice VII”.

Kepler-438b orbits a star 470 light years away. It receives a similar amount of energy from its sun as does Earth. Its surface temperature is perfect for liquid water.
On the Earth Similarity Index it’s received a 0.88, the highest score of any world (except of course Earth). Liquid water almost certainly exists there and with it, the best chance for alien life.
This is the sort of planet that makes me wonder when I look up at the stars, if somewhere far away, there isn’t someone looking back.

luddendorf and maru wanted to destroy the world yea, but they took genuine pleasure from it. takes the blanket pure evil just up a notch. also no villain monologues! luddendorf wants to get high and murder everyone. maru wants everyone to die horribly. ares wants to point and say: seeee. it’s the antithesis to jor-el’s philosophy of everyone’s potential for good: everyone has potential to be destructive and violent
so far every single dceu movie has presented this theme as trippy visions. kind of like an offering, and each evil is incredibly specifc to real world anxieties: xenophobe zod, megalomanical lex, resentful enchantress, scornful ares. clark rejects zod’s plan to turn earth to krypton, bruce rejects lex’s manipulation (and possibly darkseid’s influence), the squad rejects enchantress (and waller), and diana rejects ares.
steve doesn’t believe what diana is saying about ares, but never once does he tell her her beliefs are wrong or stupid, and he eventually does come around in the end
does patty like lament configurations bc there are some nice bird’s eye visuals of the louvre and the pattern in the department store. reminds me of motherboxes
steve carries around an edgar rice burroughs novel to share with soldiers in order to bond asldfjhlkjdsf i headcanon it’s princess of mars: american solider arrives on strange new world, meets and falls in love with badass scientist warrior princess watch john carter ya’ll it’s beautiful
the photograph is 10x worse now thx patty and zack
battle of the languages between samir and diana tho
everything we learn about the crew is to further diana’s understanding of the strange and sometimes conflicting dynamics in man’s world. charlie has ptsd from being a sniper but is still a soldier, samir is an actor who can’t find work in his profession bc of racism and became a soldier to use his talents, chief already fought in wars and lost and is now in it for himself and that means working with steve, a white man. and steve has the same noble calling as diana but his methods are not exactly hers. yet even when they clash but it’s explicitly to understand more, not to cover anything up or out of misunderstanding
like even the ice cream scene is about how good steve and diana are to each other. she wants ice cream? sure, buy her some ice cream and for a brief moment enjoy how happy it makes her. it’s so fucking pure my fuck
above average! again! yes! bc! steve covers up right, but it’s not bc it makes her uncomfortable. she’s 100% ok with it. a watch is more important. UGH PATTY PATTY PATTTTTTAAAAY. THAT GETS ME GOOD
antiope and her 2nd in command aaaamiright
little diana running straight from her lessons to watch training
diana just climbing shit in general
steve too, she got right on that
i love that it fades out bc wondertrev is so hot and into each other, yea i believe they’d go at it, but they’re also so pure and sweet, they also could’ve just cuddled
i’m of the both. both is good persuasion.
znyde and art history majors must’ve gone nuts during the zeus/ares story. also how dope to get around exposition by making both big moments of just telling us shit by making them stories integrated into the worldbuilding
me during the lost in translation moment: LISTEN PATTY I LOVE GENRE SUBVERSION AND EVERYTHING BUT I NEED TO HEAR WHAT STEVE TREVOR IS SAYING WITH MY OWN TWO GODDAMN EARS
things diana wants: to protect mankind and save the world
things steve wants: to save as many people as he can, get married, have babies, grow old
things i want: to die
*totally destructive battle mayhem*
diana: stay here
crew: : /
present diana works to preserve history hahahahaaaaaaacries
