a profile of superiority

Happens in a Soulmate Brock/Bucky/Tony AU, but the plot isn’t quite there yet. @susieeslei. You’ll know why.

The target was moving again. With a curse Brock lowered the rifle scope. He wasn’t usually the guy sent out for an assassination, he did have a cover at SHIELD to maintain after all. As it turned out though, the target apparently was high-profile enough that his superiors were willing to risk it.

Why they hadn’t simply deployed the Asset, Brock would never understand. He knew for a fact that the guy was a much more reliable shooter than he was. If he’d been sent after an accountant or even a regular agent who knew too much, Brock wouldn’t have worried too much. He had a knack for killing people, there was no reason to expect this mission to end any different.

If you ignored the fact that he was sent after Tony fucking Stark, the man with a freakish tendency for surviving the impossible Brock had ever seen, that is.

Well, no matter. Everybody’s luck had to run out at some point.

With that Brock readjusted the rifle. It was difficult to do, because even with a clearly marked red carpet area, Tony fucking Stark still managed to walk in dizzying snake lines, duck down unexpectedly to pick up a phone someone dropped and generally make himself a less shootable target.

Actually, that might be the entire point. That or the guy really was as erratic as he often appeared to be on television shows–not that Brock watched them or anything.

Then Stark deemed someone worthy of his attention for longer than a few seconds, though of course he was crouching down again, and even with the help of the scope Brock had difficulties making out who they guy was talking to–a kid, probably. He did have a clear sight on the way Stark threw his head back as he laughed however, appearing genuinely amused.

Finally, finally the man got up again, finally Brock had a clear shot. And a clear sight.

“Mother-fucking…!”

Of Tony fucking Stark. Wearing a self-made flower crown. Smiling so fucking bright it should be counted as a criminal offence.

Brock hesitated.

He didn’t even know why. There was just something about this sight, about the headband adorned with fake daisies that stopped him. An instinctive, involuntary reaction.

By the time he had gotten over the surprise, Stark was already ushered through the entrance by his bodyguard.

“Fuck!”

Forcing himself to take a deep breath, Brock packed up his equipment and began to formulate a plan in his head. He’d messed up and he had no doubt that there would be consequences. But it was nothing he wouldn’t survive. Besides he hadn’t been caught. There would be other opportunities. It would just take some time to make one.

In the meantime. In the meantime he had some research to do. It was unlikely, of course. The chances were minimal. Negligible. But still. He had to be sure.

It was only his imagination acting up, Brock knew that, but as he climbed off the roof, he could have sworn his left wrist was burning. The words on his left wrist were burning.

It’s a flower crown.

TRYING TO CRACK THE CODE: DADVICE

if anyone else has figured this out already i am so sorry but i literally jumped out of bed when the realization hit me

okay my dudes your local papa has been playing dream daddy simulator and we’re all tryin’ to figure out the mystery behind the cult ending? well i saw that @icksie posted a list of all the Dadvice in the game and it was posted on the subreddit that whoever had gotten the Secret ending mentioned that dad profile was IMPORTANT.

WELL.

Reading that list, I saw that one of the listed tips is ‘LaserDisc is clearly the superior digital video format’

One of the Dad Profile choices is ‘Anything on LaserDisc’.

Another corresponding Dad Profile choice is the one mentioning ‘Eating a healthy dinner at 4pm’ or something like that–  while a corresponding Dadvice tip is ‘Don’t eat too close to your bedtime’. This one might be reaching, but it’s a thing. Another reaching one is ‘Everyone needs to know how to use power tools’– they have a dad profile about instructionals? i dunno i might be overthinking this

One tip that got me though, was this one:

“First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairiest chest”.
Is there some sort of ORDER we need to complete endings in??? does it correspond to the dads??? ARE THESE JUST NONSENSE TEXT? DON’T YOU DARE TELL ME IT IS
my guess for that would be Robert first because he’s bad dad, second being Craig because h’s BEST friend, and third is… brian? prolly?

Especially with “It’s rude to ask people about their mysterious hand tattoos”; that is WAY too specific to be nonsense in regards to Robert.

listen i am balls deep into this game right now and trying to solve this mystery is keeping me alive.

feed back would be great my dudes i am so into this right now.

p.s. is there a discord for all this conspiracy shit because my dudes i would love to get in on that

Love is weak when there is more doubt than there is trust, but love is most strong when you learn to trust even with all the doubts.

The One After Her: A Relationship in Pieces

A Criminal Minds Fan-fiction 6

Featuring: Spencer x Female Reader     Setting: Season 11

Pieces 1-5

A/N: Sorry last one of super close time frames! I really hope you like this one. xoxo Stu

Something was happening, Y/N was acting nervous and she was rarely so. She was checking her phone for messages in decreasing intervals, her heartbeat was ten to twelve bpm faster than normal and she had asked Spencer three times if he wanted seconds. Spencer squinted trying to figure out the source of the stress.

“Sweetie, I don’t know what is bothering you, but I am here if you need to talk.” Spencer explained after she nearly spilled her first glass of wine.

Embarrassed, she smiled gently, “It’s nothing, really. Just waiting on some details to finish some planning. Not a bother really, I am just being impatient.”

He headed home with her kisses still warm on his skin. Her delicious meal’s aroma clinging to his clothing. He hated to leave, but remained cautious with her boundaries. He wanted to give her all the time and respect she deserved to trust him again. Though leaving her or watching her walk away had become increasingly difficult each night they shared.

The next afternoon Spencer and Morgan headed to invite Garcia out to lunch, but when they got to the tech office she was on her headset.

“Y/N, don’t worry I scored you a great deal, only two nights-” Garcia paused. “True, you’ll want to get back so Boy Wonder can spend time with Mama Genius.”

Morgan knocked and cleared his throat. Spencer’s eyebrows were nearly hidden below his hair. “Crap!”

Garcia spun on the spot and stammered through her unveiling. She held up a finger for them to wait a second, “Y/N, sweetheart, I didn’t— Hi Reid”

Poor Penelope didn’t give away Y/N’s plans, it was just a nearly random aligning of events that took the surprise away from Spencer and Y/N’s first vacation.

Three weeks later

“Hotch, I am staying until noon, whether we have a profile or not.” Spencer was rarely forceful, especially with his superior. Something about his tone or Hotch’s cloaked heart drew the stoic man to nodding in agreement. Rossi and Derek were exhausted, they shared a curious glance over the exchange.

The Baltimore field office was crowded and the BAU team had a small rectangular table to work over evidence and establish timelines. Spencer’s quick mind took established geographical data and plotted it for search perimeters. The unsub was killing immigrants in the shipyards and the bodies were found in pieces along the coast.

Spencer and Rossi headed to the M.E. after Spencer had explained the tidal flow charts to Derek and Hotch, narrowing down the dispersal site. There were four known bodies while two were too eroded to identify. After deducing that the unsub had to have great anatomical knowledge, seclusion and skill. They had some progress narrowing down the trades or hobbies of the unsub.

On note with the profile pic anon, i usually think that other people are superior to me and don't want to talk to me, so i don't talk to them all because i think they're much higher-up. ~Suga anon

:[ Well I hope you don’t think that about me! I get that though, I have a hard time talking to people because I always think I’m bothering them.

I'm curious. What do you think would be the MBTI personalities for each of the Greek students from TSH? Also, the reasoning behind your answers. Thank you!

I’m not particularly knowledgeable about Myers-Briggs typing (no more than taking the test and knowing my friends’ types), so my answer was facilitated by sectvmsemprasgraphics, which are not only beautiful but also kind of a great summary.

I’m not sure I’m qualified or motivated enough to give you all the details about my choices, but I linked every types to an in-depth description of their personality. If you disagree with me, I’d be happy to justify something or to talk about it!

Henry : INTJ – The Mastermind

Often intellectual, INTJs enjoy logical reasoning and complex problem-solving. They approach life by analyzing the theory behind what they see, and are typically focused inwards, on their own thoughtful study of the world around them. INTJs are drawn to logical systems and are much less comfortable with the unpredictable nature of other people and their emotions. They are typically independent and selective about their relationships, preferring to associate with people who they find intellectually stimulating.

They are perceptive about systems and strategy, and often understand the world as a chessboard to be navigated. They want to understand how systems work, and how events proceed : the INTJ often has a unique ability to foresee logical outcomes. They enjoy applying themselves to a project or idea in depth, and putting in concentrated effort to achieve their goals.

This one is self-explanatory. Henry is obviously an introvert, focused on his own thoughts and knowledge instead of the world around him; highly logical, he judges to better act and forecast, and although his intellect allows him to plan ahead and guess what will happen next, it’s only because he knows his environment so well that everything’s a pawn; his intuition, his sensing is definitely undermined by his analytical, cold mind. Learning and playing are the most important things to him —and by playing, I mean manipulating, pushing the boundaries of experimentation.

A cosplayer’s guide to Angles

There are many kinds of cosplayers in this world. Some are super good at makeup and some, like me, are not. Because of this, I never use makeup, especially since I have to record gifs many times a week and would run out of money a lot. But I still manage to look good. Yeah? It’s because I use Angles. Learn them, love them.I will try to cover the basic of angles and how to use them in your cosplay photos or askblogs! Good luck!

Camera high up = Childlike:

A child has big eyes and round face, which is what you will look like from an angle above you. Combined with the playful body language of a child and looking up to seemingly enlarge your eyes, you will look much younger in seconds. this angle is used for innocence, so a sweet character would have the camera placed a bit over them

Camera low = Angry, arrogant, mean

If the camera is placed under you, you will look down on the person on the other screen. This will make you seem superior to them.Together with this angle on the face (half profile = love) and the clenched jaw and minimal body movement, you will look judging and superior. Good for the hot, evil characters

Distance:

In the first part of the gif, you probably felt a little bit uncomfortable. This is because the camera was too close, making it seem like I am right up in your face. If your face takes up almost half of the picture, you should back the camera off. You should be close enough for them to see you, but not close enough to make them uncomfortable.

Unable to move camera:

There is a possibility that your camera can not be moved to a good angle, but that doesn’t have to mean that you can’t use natrual angles. In the first part of the gif, I raise my shoulders and curl up my back to make myself look up at the camera. With the added lip-biting and slightly opened-more-wide-than-normal eyes, I look innocent and a bit scared.
The second part is different. I straighten my back, clench my jaw and stretch out my neck, and once again use the half profile. Now I look superior and annoyed.

Opposite day:

what would happen if we do the exact opposite?
The first part of the gif is exactly like the angry one before, but now I have the camera over me. Notice how the angry stare now looks more like a little pouting. The glare have lost it’s power.
The second part is like the one above, but with the camera under me. Also here, the effect have disappeared. I still look innocent, but the child has dissapeared completely.

I hope this is to some help, please send me an ask if you want more of this kind!
Good luck!

[Image: In a bts pic from a BBC2 Radio appearance, we have Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond standing on either side of a while pillar. Clarkson is in profile and looking at Hammond with a look of smug superiority whilst Hammond is looking at the camera with a  fond-ish “I am nearing the end of being able to deal with his BS” look. The caption, on Hammond’s side reads: “(907): He may be 6′ 6″ but I’m 150 lbs of pure rage and determination”.] I think this is one of the truest tflns ever.

ETA: Yes, I know the idiot Clarkson is 6′5″–I also took a guesstimate at Hammond’s weight, too (the original said 180). For those who are confused, tflns are NOT factual nor are they meant to be, okay? Okay.

8 questions for the USWNT in 2017: From Hope Solo, to the CBA, to the newbies

Caitlin MurrayJan 2, 2017 at 3:13p ET

Although 2017 is very much a quiet year for the USWNT with no major tournaments, it doesn’t mean there isn’t work to be done. Far from it. The new year represents a crucial stretch where no changes or experiments are off limits. By the time 2018 rolls around, the team will start preparing for the 2019 World Cup, so this year is about figuring out the fundamentals.

Given that 2016 was probably the worst year on record for the USWNT, the team is ripe for changes, too.

What will the USWNT’s new CBA look like?

The USWNT’s collective bargaining agreement with U.S. Soccer ended when the calendar turned to 2017. By all accounts, the existing contract is simply rolling over while talks continue, but negotiations are going to be a big distraction until they are finished. The USWNT recently fired their legal representation, which doesn’t suggest negotiations have been going that well.

But the collective bargaining agreement could affect a lot of things, from how many games the team plays, to how many new players coach Jill Ellis is allowed to call into camp. A new agreement will set a new tone and the rules under which the team operates for 2017 and beyond.

Will Hope Solo be back?

After her high-profile firing from U.S. Soccer for calling a superior Swedish team “cowards,” Solo has mostly been laying low and serving her suspension. She stepped away from her club season with the Seattle Reign and Ellis started doing something she hadn’t done in a while: letting goalkeepers other than Solo start games.

But Solo’s suspension is up in February and if Ellis wants her back, she can return. Solo has said she hopes to return to the USWNT and it doesn’t sound like she is ready to hang up her goalkeeper gloves just yet. But she is also 35 years old and trouble has followed her for the past few years. Whether or Solo returns will probably say a lot about how strong Ellis feels the goalkeeper pool is.

What is the team’s attacking identity?

For years, thanks in large part to Abby Wambach being the best header the women’s game has known, the USWNT have focused on direct, long-ball soccer. But without Wambach on the team anymore and teams like Sweden figuring out how to limit those chances to break in behind, the USWNT faces something of an existential crisis.

In terms of pure athleticism — speed and stamina to race in behind back lines for 90 minutes — the USWNT often has the upper hand. But they also looked more dangerous and able to break down defensively stout teams by attacking with the ball on the ground via the wings. Maybe they don’t have to pick one or the other approach exclusively, but they probably need to be more comfortable doing both, which they haven’t been.

Are players like Lynn Williams and Kealia Ohai the future?

In closing out 2016, Ellis did something new: She called in a slew of young, uncapped players and left veterans, like Alex Morgan, off the roster. That was already pretty remarkable, but even more was the fact that players like Williams and Ohai made immediate impacts and showed themselves to be contenders to fight for spots.

It’s a good bet that Ellis will continue calling up young players from the NWSL, and the question is how much they can push existing veterans out of the picture. If Ellis is willing to hit the reset button in 2017 some more, the team that plays in the 2019 World Cup may look nothing like the one that won the 2015 World Cup.

Is there any room for Sydney Leroux or Amy Rodriguez?

It’s built into the USWNT players’ contract that no one can lose their spot on the team just because they have a baby. So, Leroux and Rodriguez will likely get an opportunity to win back their spots, if they want it. But with youngsters like Williams, Ohai and even Christen Press — who has been on the team for years but has seldom been used as a striker in important games — there just might not be any need for Leroux or Rodriguez.

Leroux was struggling with a goal drought before her pregnancy, with some pundits speculating she wouldn’t make the Olympics roster even before she removed herself from consideration. But Rodriguez came back in 2014 from having her first child and played some of the best soccer of her career for both club and country. If Leroux, 26, can be rejuvenated in a similar way, she could surely fight for a spot.

What is the right role for Carli Lloyd?

The thing about Lloyd is, she’s the type of player who can step up in big-game moments and score goals, which is very valuable. But in letting her do that, Ellis has given her a pretty undefined role. She’s supposedly a No. 10, but she plays more like a withdrawn forward, but even then, she really isn’t focused so much on linking up with striker Alex Morgan.

Basically, Lloyd just kind of roams around and does whatever she wants. And the USWNT attack has been built around the idea that that’s how Lloyd is best. But can the USWNT continue to count on that and sacrifice having a true playmaker or a true second striker?

What system makes the most sense?

Coach Jill Ellis has been tinkering with a 3-5-2 to close out 2016, and it’s easy to see why. The Americans were unable to penetrate Sweden’s 4-5-1 and it punished them with an early Olympics exit. The worst part is that Ellis and the USWNT knew exactly what Sweden’s Pia Sundhage had up her sleeve and they still couldn’t break it down.

Will they stick with the 3-5-2 as a way to get more players into the midfield, even if it limits the team in other ways? Then there are other questions, like whether Alex Morgan (assuming she remains the undisputed starting striker of the USWNT) plays better with or without a partner. How attack-oriented should the fullbacks be? Should the USWNT have a dedicated playmaker in the central midfield? Should the USWNT make a long-awaited return to having a dedicated defensive midfielder?

Will more players leave the NWSL for Europe?

With Alex Morgan set to join Olympique Lyon in France, the superstar striker marks the first USWNT player leaving the NWSL, which is where all the USWNT players ply their trade, except for college players. The move is something of a mixed bag — it may not be great for the NWSL, which counts on USWNT players to attract fans. But for Morgan, it’s a move that should improve and expand her game.

It’s doubtful Morgan will be the only one to leave. Crystal Dunn has expressed interest in going abroad and a move doesn’t look far off from happening. But USWNT coaches, including Ellis, have said that players being spread out abroad can be a challenge for the USWNT, particularly because U.S. Soccer tends to schedule games outside FIFA dates. If more USWNT players leave the NWSL, that could affect upcoming camps in a very direct way.

People ask me all the time, Catalina, why are we here, on this earth, living life? And despite my many years, well, I still don’t have an answer. All I know is that my parents met on a message board on Neopets.com when they were 12 and 13 years old, respectively, and now I’m here. Incidentally, they both later died in a Cosmo sex tip-related accident. Which is to say they read a Cosmo sex tip and laughed to death at how inconceivable it was. Incidentally, Cosmo has great lawyers and I’m about to get sued out of my entire fortune for defamation. But that’s neither here nor there.

The following is what I do know about life and how it works. You’re welcome for how helpful this is about to be for you:

Through a series of tests that I recently conducted in my small in-home laboratory, I learned that simply deciding that you want to photosynthesize doesn’t automatically give you the ability to do it. (These controversial test results subsequently caused a huge rift within the scientific community as well as my personal life, but that’s, also, neither here nor there). I’m learning to interact more productively with the world in a number of ways. I’m learning to reap emotional reinforcement from reading the packaging of products. Life hack: Boxes of cereal are often trying to tell your that you are good and that you deserve good things. You can read boxes of cereal to feel assured of this. Boxes of cereal are also often trying to sell you cereal. This is not important, nor is it part of the life hack.

I’m reading the wikipedia pages of artistic movements and dropping references to them more often in conversation with peers and superiors. My LinkedIn profile is simply a click-through link to my OKCupid profile. It’s working really well for me, thanks. Trying to discern whether or not your head is “an uncool size” is not productive, nor is it a life hack. Drinking tea is a life hack, but only if you like tea. Liking the idea of tea doesn’t count. Telling yourself that you could be a great president of this country if you put your mind to it could positively affect your self esteem. What most people don’t know is that the president’s job isn’t even that hard, they’re often just trying to sell you cereal. Life hack: The existence of the entire US government is an advertising ploy from Kellog’s. I know this because i have conducted the research in my small in-home research center.

I’ve become ok with the idea of robots rising up to destroy the way of life as we know it, but only because I’m too lazy to organize an uprising of my own. Life hack: Speed up the settings of your life so you’re experiencing it at 2 seconds per second: you’ll be done in half the time. Life hack: Pour Kool Aid in your wounds, why not? Life hack: Doors can be used to enter one room from a different room. Life hack: Clouds exist. Life hack: Disposing of pollutants in impoverished areas means less chance that a person living there will be financially capable of suing you if said pollutants seriously harm their health and the health of their loves ones.

Minnesota mom improves her quality of life with this ONE WEIRD TIP:
Acknowledging the fleeting nature of existence and resolving to be nice to others.

It’s important to decide to do things only after already confirming that you have the ability to do them. However, I still haven’t given up on photosynthesizing.
