a king's time as ruler rises and falls just like the sun

❂ ————– THE LION KING SENTENCE STARTERS.

’ What do you want me to do, dress in drag and do the hula? ’
’ I despise guessing games. ’
’ Oh, goody. ’
’ Yes. Well, forgive me for not leaping for joy. ’
’ When I’m King, what’ll that make you? ’
’ You’re so weird. ’
’ You have no idea. ’
’ Sing something with a little bounce in it. ’
’ I’ve got a lovely bunch of coconuts. ’
’ Big ones, small ones, some as big as your head… ’
’ Hakuna Matata. It’s our motto. ’
’ What’s a motto? ’
’ Nothing. What’s a motto with you? ’
’ Did I miss something? ’
’ Let me out! Let me out! ’
’ Please don’t eat me. ’
’ Whoa. Talk about your fixer-upper. ’
’ I can’t go back. What would it prove, anyway?  ’
’ You can’t change the past. ’
’ You said you’d always be there for me! But you’re not. ’
’ It’s because of me. It’s my fault. ’
’ Ahh, so you haven’t told them your little secret. ’
’ It’s not true. Tell me it’s not true. ’
’ No! It was an accident! ’
’ It’s your fault he’s/she’s dead. Do you deny it? ’
’ Then you’re guilty. ’
’ No, I’m not a murderer! ’
’ Friends? I thought he/she said we were the enemy. ’
’ Don’t ever do that again! Carnivores, ugh! ’
’ We’re pals, right? ’
’ I don’t wonder; I know. ’
’ The great kings of the past look down on us from those stars. ’
’ I always thought they were balls of gas burning billions of miles away. ’
’ Fireflies that, uh… got stuck up on that big bluish-black thing. ’
’ Everything the light touches is our kingdom. ’
’ A king’s time as ruler rises and falls like the sun. ’
’ What’s happened to you? ’
’ You’re right, I’m not. Now are you satisfied? ’
’ You know you’re starting to sound like my father. ’
’ The sooner we get to the waterhole, the sooner we can leave. ’
’ So where are we really going? ’
’ Right. So how are we going to ditch the dodo? ’
’ It’s a tradition going back generations. ’
’ Well, when I’m king, that’ll be the first thing to go. ’
’ Well, in that case, you’re fired. ’
’ Nice try, but only the king can do that. ’
’ Your Majesty. I gravel at your feet. ’
’ Why do I always have to save your… Ahhh! ’
’ I know what I have to do. ’
’ Temper, temper. ’
’ I’ve been running from it for so long. ’
’ Ow! Jeez, what was that for? ’
’ It doesn’t matter. It’s in the past. ’
’ Oh yes, the past can hurt. ’
’ But from the way I see it, you can either run from it, or… learn from it. ’
’ You see? So what are you going to do? ’
’ First, I’m gonna take your stick. ’
’ Good! Go on! Get out of here! ’
’ So you’d better have a good excuse for missing the ceremony this morning. ’
’ Perhaps you shouldn’t turn your back on me. ’
’ I wouldn’t dream of challenging you. ’
’ Is that a challenge? ’
’ I’m afraid I’m at the shallow end of the gene pool. ’
’ There’s one in every family sire. Two in mine, actually. ’
’ Pinned you again. ’
’ What’s going on? ’
’ Oh, dear, I’ve said too much! ’
’ Well, I’m brave. What’s out there? ’
’ All the more reason for me to be protective. ’
’ Well, I suppose you’d have found out sooner or later. ’
’ Just promise me you’ll never visit that dreadful place! ’
’ You run along now and have fun. ’
’ I wonder if its brains are still in there? ’
’ Danger? Hah! I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of danger. Ha ha ha ha! ’
’ Do you know what we do to kings who step out of their kingdom? ’
’ Puh. You can’t do anything to me. ’
’ Oh, my, my, my. Look at the sun. It’s time to go! ’
’ Hey! Why don’t you pick on somebody your own size? ’
’ I’m very disappointed in you. ’
’ You could have been killed! ’
’ You deliberately disobeyed me! ’
’ I was just trying to be brave like you. ’
’ I’m only brave when I have to be. ’
’ Being brave doesn’t mean you go looking for trouble. ’
’ Whoah. I guess even kings get scared, huh? ’
’ But you’re not scared of anything. ’
’ We were afraid it was somebody important. ’
’ Tell me about it. I just hear that name and I shudder. ’
’ Yeah, be prepared! We’ll be prepared… for what? ’
’ Long live the king! Long live the king! ’
’ If I told you, it wouldn’t be a surprise, now would it? ’
’ If you tell me, I’ll still act surprised. ’
’ You are such a naughty boy/girl! ’
’ You hear that? If you ever come back, we’ll kill ya! ’
’ So it is with a heavy heart that I assume the throne. ’
’ That’s the stupidest thing I ever heard. ’
’ You know, having a lion around might not be such a bad idea. ’
’ Ah, you’re an outcast! That’s great. So are we. ’
’ I’m telling you, kid: this is the great life. No rules, no responsibilities… ’
’ You mean a bunch of royal dead guys are watching us? ’
’ Come on, I just heard about this great place. ’
’ I’m surrounded by idiots. ’
’ I’m kinda in the middle of a bath. ’
’ So where are we going? It better not be anyplace dumb. ’
’ I’ll show you when we get there. ’
’ The waterhole? What’s so great about the waterhole? ’
’ You’re the king? And you never told us? ’
’ You don’t even know what I’ve been through! ’
’ I finally got some sense knocked into me. ’
’ Please have mercy, I beg you. ’
’ You don’t deserve to live. ’
’ Why should I believe you? Everything you ever told me was a lie. ’
’ This looks like a good spot to rustle up some grub. ’
’ I’ll make it up to you, I promise. ’
’ You got to put your past behind you. ’
’ When the world turns its back on you, you turn your back on the world. ’
’ Bad things happen, and you can’t do anything about it. ’
’ There’s more to being a king than getting your way all the time. ’
’ I’m so hungry I could eat a whole zebra. ’
’ Listen kid: if you live with us, you’re gonna have to eat like us. ’
’ Come on, will you cut it out? ’
’ I thought I knew, but now I’m not so sure. ’
’ What’s that supposed to mean, anyway? ’
’ I’m not the one who’s confused. ’
’ You don’t even know who you are! ’
’ This is just the way your father looked before he died. ’
’ So what’s the plan for getting past those guys? ’
’ No wonder we’re dangling at the bottom of the food chain! ’
’ Where is your hunting party? They’re not doing their job. ’
’ Then you have sentenced us to death! ’
’ Well, it sure is a surprise to see you… ’
’ Hakuna Matata. It means “no worries”. ’
’ These are rare delicacies. ’
’ You have forgotten who you are and so have forgotten me. ’
’ You are more than what you have become. ’
’ How can I go back? I’m not who I used to be. ’
’ Will you stop following me? Who are you? ’
’ What’s going on here? Who’s the monkey? ’

Master List

You swing your sword into the spider before it has a chance to attack Thorin. He looks up at you and nods in thanks and you nod back.

You had joined their journey when they came to stop at Beorn’s place. You were there because he had found you almost ten years ago, badly injured from an encounter with an orc. Since then, you had been living with him and once you met the company, you left with them. Thorin didn’t want you at first since you were an elf, but Mithrandir had convinced him to let you join and here you were, saving his ass.

You pause as your hear footsteps running in the trees and turn towards the noise. Thorin has noticed it too. You see a blonde elf running through the trees and sliding down the web of the spider. He kills that one and slides under another one, killing it as well.

You watch as he moves to stand and you pull your bow, stepping in front of Thorin. You two come face to face, arrows pointed into each other’s faces. He narrows his eyes at you and you do the same.

Don’t think I won’t kill you elf,” he snarls and tightens the string. “I could say the same for you,” you say, mimicking his movements. You feel an arm on your elbow and you look at Thorin. He nods his head and you place the bow and arrows back to where they belong.

“Legolas!” you hear a female voice say and you wince a bit as you realize you had just pointed your arrow at the prince of Mirkwood. You listen to the conversation he has with the female and you look at Thorin.

“ Do you know him? You went frigid,” he asks. “He’s the prince,” you mutter back as the prince comes over to you both. “Search them,” he orders and you are all stripped of your weapons. The guards put shackles on you and you are lead to the palace.

While you and the rest of the company are lead to the cells, Thorin is lead to the the King. You sigh at as you are pushed into the cell. You laugh as you notice a guard stop Fili to take away one of his hidden daggers.

You sigh once again as the guards leave you alone. You sit by the door and look up. You notice the prince standing on the platform above you. You make eye contact with ice blue eyes and he comes to move in front of your cell.

Why are you with the dwarves?” he asks, coming to stand in front of your cell. “I did not think it was any of your business,” you reply not looking at him.

You are in my kingdom,” he retorts.

Really? I thought it was your father’s kingdom?” you ask sarcastically.

So you know who I am?” he asks.

Blonde hair, blue eyes. You must be a Sindarin elf and last I remember, the only sindarin elves to live in Mirkwood were the King and his son. Given the fact that you were out on guard duty, you are the prince,” you explain trying to sound smart.

He looks so surprised that you knew so much about him.

Plus, I heard the female call you Legolas,” you say, shrugging and that causes him to smile. You smile back. “Where are you from?” he asks, taking a seat on the steps next to your door. “The Valley of Imladris,” you tell him.

You weren’t lying. You were just not telling the whole truth. You were from Imladris, but you’ve been gone for ten years. You had an argument with your father, Lord Elrond, and you had not returned since then. You did not know if he was looking for you and you did not care. You loved your life with Beorn and you had not regretted your decision to leave.

“Why travel with the dwarves? What will you get in return?” he asks and you decide to answer him this time. “You know? I have no idea. It’s just something that I wanted to do. A rash decision, yes, but a good one all the same,” you reply, looking at the wall in front of you. “How long have you been traveling with them for you to gain such an attachment?” he asks.

Literally a day or so. I couldn’t really tell how much time has passed in the forest,” you shrug. For some unknown reason, that makes him laugh. “I’ve never heard an elf laugh or smile so much,” you tell him truthfully.

I laugh because you are funny. You join a bunch of dwarves and you will die for them even though you’ve only known them for a day,” he says.

And a half,” you retort, making him smile.

The two of you continue talking until another guard shows up, dragging Thorin with him.

The king wants to see the elf,” the guard states as Legolas stands. He nods and you switch places with Thorin. Legolas and the other elf leads you to the throne room after chaining you again. Once you get there, the elvenking’s eyes widen in surprise.

Remove the chain,” he orders and the other guard does as he’s told. Legolas stares at his father, confused. “Lady y/n. Your father has been searching for you for ten years and he thought you to be dead,” Thranduil states, making his way down from the throne and Legolas’ head snaps towards you.

You’re Lord Elrond’s daughter?” he asks. “Surprise?” you ask back. He sighs. “Ada. If I knew she was Lord Elrond’s daughter, I would not have put her in the cells,” Legolas says, watching as his father circles you.

Where have you been, milady? There had been many an elf searching for you,” Thranduil asks, ignoring his son.

He was curious. Lord Elrond had been in panic for the first three years of you going missing. He had even left Imladris to search for you, but had been unsuccessful. When the fourth year hit, he did not search, but started mourning. As a close friend of Elrond’s, it hurt to see him in such distress. He had been in that same state when he lost his wife and now his friend had to go through it yet again. The pain must’ve been unimaginable.

I’ve been staying with the shapeshifter, your majesty,” you say, looking dead ahead. You did not like making eye contact when you were being interrogated. Granted, it did not happen often.

And why have you been staying with the shapeshifter instead of returning home? Your father thinks you are dead,” he says, stopping in front of you.

That is new information. You did not intend for that to happen. You knew you should’ve sent a letter, but you could not in your state. Not after he said that he wished you were not his daughter.

“I felt like I was no longer welcomed, milord,” you reply. He narrows his eyes at you.

“Legolas. You will escort the princess back to Imladris back where she belongs-,”

What? Milord! I do not want to leave. I promised Oakenshield that I’d help him. I cannot-“ you start, panicked.

Have you heard of the story of the king under the mountain? Of the sickness that lies under that mountain?” Thranduil interrupts and you nod your head.

Then you know that Thorin Oakenshield will fall under the same sickness just like his grandfather,” Thranduil says.

I do not believe that, milord,” you say. “Whatever you believe is wrong. Legolas, take her back to Imladris,” he says, making his way back to the throne. “No,” Legolas says and you turn to him in shock.

Did he really just disobey his father? His king?

Thranduil turns to his son slowly, frown gracing his face.

What did you just say?” Thranduil asks.

I said ‘no’ father. It is obvious that she does not return to Imladris. She has been happy and safe with the skinchanger. Are we going to take that away from her?” Legolas asks.

Guards. Return her to her cell. My son and I have to discuss a few things,” Thranduil says, glare not wavering from his son. You notice Legolas has the same glare on his face and you can’t help but think that they look even more like father and son.

The guards take you back to your shared cell with Thorin. “What did he want?” Thorin asks as you sit at the door. “He was just curious as to why the daughter of Lord Elrond had been missing for ten years and was found traveling with a group of dwarves,” you reply nonchalantly, still thinking about Legolas and his decision to go against his father’s wishes.

“You’re that y/n?” he asks, surprised seeping through his voice.

Lord Elrond and Gandalf had spoken of you multiple times during their stay at Imladris. It was always with sadness. Fili had asked one of the elves what had happened to you and they had said that you had gotten into an argument with your father and left, never to be seen again. They had thought you to be dead and Imladris had not been the same since.

“Ah. So you’ve heard of me,” you say as you close your eyes. “We had stopped in Rivendell a few months ago and your father and Gandalf had mentioned you multiple times. Everyone believed you to be dead,” he says.

“So I’ve heard. Thranduil had ordered Legolas to take me back to Imladris, but he had refused,” you explain.

“Did he really deny his father and king?” Thorin asks, scoffing. “It seems that the children of rulers are rule breakers. Perhaps when you eventually have children, they will break many rules when they’re under the mountain,” you suggest and that causes Thorin to chuckle.

“I don’t see why not. Fili and Kili already do that,” he states loudly.

“We heard that, Uncle and we do not break rules. We just skirt around them,” Fili defends from his spot in his cell.

“It’s the same thing,” Thorin argues back and you smile. You liked the fact that he could still joke a bit in this situation.

“I reckon the sun is on the rise,” Bofur’s voice sounds throughout the cells. “We’re never gonna reach the mountain, are we?” you hear the youngest ask and your heart clenches a bit.

These dwarves have been through so much, they cannot just be stopped right here.

“Not stuck in here you’re not,” you hear another voice say and it’s the hobbit and he’s holding keys. He lets the both of you out first and suddenly, your hope returns along with the fear that you may never see the blonde prince again.

of dusk and dawn and a love beyond

Summary: The King of Day, Victor, drops flowers to the Ruler of Night, Yuuri, to express his love for him, but they are always returned, as Yuuri thinks that they’re dropped by mistake.

Victor cries and plucks wishes off the petals every time, remembering the time when once, they had been together.

There are only two times that they meet every cycle, two times that their realms blur at the borders and the rulers walk past each other as one sigil rises where the other one falls. Dusk and dawn are the most precious times of day to Victor, because that’s the only opportunity he has to glimpse the elusive Ruler of Night.

The boundary separating them is not one that is easily described. No land can be night and day at the same time, no land can host them both together. So Victor waits for the moments that he throws the Sun into the heavens and the moments he calls it back to earth, for that is the only time that Night and Day blur and they can be together.

And He Was The Sun

A little present for my angst king, @bunny-yams!!! Please remember to comment and reblog if you enjoyed!

Sometimes, Alexander wondered if the universe was jealous of Thomas.

The way his dark eyes sparkled with new ideas, brighter than the North Star. The twinkling in his laughter to rival the glimmers of the cosmos. How each smile, each smirk, each devilish grin was so perfectly curved into constellations with those lips Alexander could kiss for centuries and still wish for more. How his hair would reflect each beam of light on a warm August morning, the curls refracting the glow into a halo, casting gold onto the nearly-black brown. In those particular moments, Thomas was the sun.

Each morning Alexander rose before the sunrise where Thomas awoke, palettes of pinks streaked the sky of Thomas’s small smile, that gorgeous smile that always seemed like it was meant for Alexander and only Alexander. They climbed out from the heavy cloak of sleep to greet the day day, and while Alex was typically groggy and tired, Thomas always seemed so perfectly set into the patterns of the morning, helping each sunbeam dance through the windows as he pulled open the blinds.

As the sunlit windows of morning shattered into shards of afternoon, Thomas stayed resolute in his path of day, working through and persevering despite clouds of anxiety and doubt in the sky of his mind. He would laugh out boldly, burning one if they stayed too long, or sit quietly and focus, content to be overshadowed and rained upon with new words from the promise of a better day soon to come.

Evenings were typically soft, gentle kisses on cheek, a hand and the wind tangling Alexander’s hair affectionately, Thomas laughing in that way where he forgets to contain himself and for once just allows the melody to play through. Each note of his laughter a new symphony, a revised chorus, a reprise of a nearly-forgotten song. Alexander wished more than anything to hear such wonder again, if only just once.

Nightfall was subtle, over before it began. The stars in his eyes connected complicated constellations, the names of which were so wondrous it is a mystery how they were lost to the gentle grip of time. Thomas painted dark blues and hints of violet across the sky with each kiss he pressed to Alexander’s face, silent promises of what the new dawn would bring as it burned the pieces it has strewn about during the night and emerged as a phoenix, rising from the ashes;

The universe must have been upset that such brilliance could shine from something other than their own sun and stars. So it had sent a supernova.

Bright lights, flashing in every direction. The sounds of metal crumbling to dust with each crackle of the crash. Fiberglass half-melted and nearly melted into the dark skin of the center of Alexander’s solar system. His halo was no longer gold, then, a sheet white airbag in its place, puffing out around him in effort to avoid the damage he would take from the impact.

And in a matter of time that seemed to pass far too slowly, Thomas had given up his title of the sun, in exchange for rule over the midnight sky.

He was laid out thin, too thin, on the hospital bed, his dark eyes closed and unable to light the stars he had always been so in control of. Curls of his hair tangled into heavy cloud weighing down over his face, and Alexander carefully reached over to brush them out of his eyes. He set the flowers down carefully on the bedside table that was always there.

Alex had chosen daisies this week. At first, he had wanted to throw every daisy ever grown into the bright fire of the supernova that had taken away his sunlight. But with time, he had grown to find a strange srt of comfort with the flowers. Each petal fluttered past his mind, unlocking memories he had tucked away neatly, in effort to slow the tidal wave of grief that had crashed over his mind, water spilling out the edges of his eyes.

Thomas had always made Alexander a flower crown when they went to the park together. Alex would protest that he was much too old to wear one, and Thomas would point out that someone so annoying must be a snobby, entitled prince that he had just so happened to fall in love with. And since Alex was a prince, he needed a crown. After a few kisses, Alexander usually relented and allowed Thomas to place the crown on his head.

But they couldn’t do that now. Not anymore. Thomas’s hands laid still by his sides, the bleached bedsheets stiff beneath him, and the teal robe covering his body so obviously not fitting for the ruler of the kingdom of dreams.

Gently, Alexander pulled something out of his pocket and placed it on Thomas’s head, smiling when he saw how it framed Thomas’s face. The little plastic daisies had been carefully braided together, into a beautiful, although fake, flower crown. Alex smiled and sighed quietly, reaching over and picking up his coat to pull back on. After all, it was a cold January afternoon, and after the first two years, everyone else had given up hope for Thomas.

Sparing a glance at the man in the bed, Alexander’s weak smile began to fade. Two years had passed by, two years of burning sunlight instead of the soft caresses of sunbeams that Thomas bended to his will.

Maybe he should give up. Alexander quickly shook the thought out of his head, closing his eyes tightly. No- Thomas just needed time for his mind to heal. But the idea stayed, lingering like a strong taste of candy that makes you wish you could brush your teeth to block it out. Thomas was gone. He wasn’t gone, as most people meant when they said such a thing. Thomas Jefferson was simply… Not there anymore. He had carved a small place into Alexander’s heart and left it there, somehow able to rest when Alex felt the pain of such an empty space each and every day he spent without Thomas.

Alexander bit his lip and tried to pull his gaze away from the sight of Thomas’s body, but found himself unable to. Because Thomas wasn’t going to wake up, no matter how long Alex waited. And somewhere, deep down, Alexander knew that. The thought had been there the whole time, creeping up on him as a mist until it began to rain heavily from his eyes.

And through his blurry vision, for a moment, just a fleeting second…

Alexander could have sworn that Thomas’s starlit eyes had blinked open.

The Suicide Squad:

This is by far the best part of the episode, and if I’m honest it’s the only believable part of the episode. Jon, Tormund, Jorah, Gentry, The Hound, Thoros of Myr and Beric Dondarion needs to have their own buddy comedy, where they travel the world and kill evil things to together. The chemistry between the group was on point and made for easy and enjoyable watching.

Then of course as I knew it would everything went to shit.

I’m sorry what kind of logic is that? Did Gendry turn half roadrunner since the last episode. Some one needs to inform Jon Gendry is good at rowing. Not running. Also, apparently getting turned into a zombie polar bear’s chew toy won’t immediately kill you, RIP Thoros of Myr. Shit just got real for Beric Dondarion, the is his last life.

And who comes to save the day? Dany and her dragons. How the overgrown lizard Queen  got the message from Eastwatch and made it up to save the day so fast is beyond me but that plothole is the least offensive one this episode so I’m just gonna let it go. Anyway Dany swoops in on Drogon with Viserion and Rhaegal riding bitch (as per usual, Drogon has always been her fav.). They light the army up like something out of Die Hard and everyone loads up on Drogon’s back to peace out. Everyone except for…… you guessed it Jon. He was to busy killing zombies to be bothered to fly to safety.

And I have to say I felt bad. Not for Daenerys, but for Viserion (and Rhaegal) . Who have never been treated with the same love and devotion by their Mother, as she shows. As soon as Viserion and Rhaegal acted out they were locked away and largely forgotten about until Tyrion rescued them and Daenerys decided she needed him.

RIP Viserion, you deserved better. Hopefully the Night King will treat you with the lone and respect you deserve.

Daenerys is seen eavesdropping and look on in absolute shock and amazement at Jon’s stab wounds or his abs. Probably both because lets face it:

Daenerys doesn’t blame Jon but instead tells him she will fight the Night’s King and white walker army. She needed to see to believe. I call bullshit but more on that later. Jon takes her hand in sympathy as she cries, he thanks her and then calls her Dany, she tells him her crazy ass brother called her that and so he calls her “My Queen”

He’ll bend the knee, despite spending the entirety of the season refusing to due so. She questions him about what his people will say and his reply is something like they’ll get over it whatevs. No bueno mi corazon, NO bueno!! This is going to royally fuck him when he gets back to the North. He seems to have forgotten he was chosen as King in the North, he didn’t inherit it, the title and the power is not his to give away. The Northern Lords will not accept Jon’s bending the knee and will look for alternate option. He’ll have lost the North and will be back where he started.

Dany makes moon eyes at him and then leaves him to rest and Jon stares at the ceiling and sighs. The kind of sigh of a man who is conflicted about what he has just done, or what he is about to do. This got me thinking, but I’ll save that for a separate post I’ll probably put up tomorrow.

I don’t wanna say they’re shoving this relationship down our throats, but they are definitely pushing it very hard. Almost to hard, like a magician who is distracting you with this hand while, picking your pocket with the other.

Sansa and Arya:

I am unable to even with their plot for this episode.

Arya who has spent the entire series being schooled in the art of deception shouldn’t be gullible enough to fall into Littlefinger’s web of manipulation, yet there she is at Sansa’s throat playing right into line with Littlefinger’s plan.

Now to play devil’s advocate, this plot could very well have been believable if they had taken their time with it but, like Jon/Dany the speed with which its happened makes it laughable in believability. Sansa at least seems ro handle it better not letting Littlefinger use Brienne against her and Arya. It also increases the chance of a Jaime/Brienne meeting to 100%.

Daenerys: The not Quite Mad Queen

I have dreaded every  scene that Daenerys has been in this season. Since going to Westeros, Daenerys’s decisions have been on their best day suspect. Her first idea for a plan of action once landing on Dragonstone was to take her dragons and burn the Red Keep to the ground.

Isn;’t this against everything Dany stands for? She only backs down after Tyrion tells her what a terrible idea that is. And since then it has just devolved. She has spent most of the season talking down to people, demanding they bend the knee, and burning people and valuable assets alive when they refuse. All while preaching that she isn’t here to murder.

Tyrion and Varys are starting to question whether she was the right horse to back. In this episode alone when Tyrion brings up to Daenerys that she has a tendency to be impulsive and lose her temper; Daenerys is appalled and immediately shoots back with denials and midirections claiming that Tyrion doesn’t want her to win because he is still loyal to his family. Fucking What?

Has she forgotten Meereen? It is clear that Daenerys is starting to ignore Tyrion’s counsel. She believes she knows best and when Tyrion very validly brings up fear  being a weak cornerstone on which to build your powerbase, Dany quickly tunes him out, letting his counsel go in one ear and out the other. She will not hear of Tyrion’s question of succession. Something she should at least have at the back of her mind, if she believes that the Iron Throne is rightfully hers. Simply put Dany is slipping, big time and Tyrion is starting to see it.

Sidenote: Dany uses Aegon I as a counterpoint saying he got a far way on fear. Yeah, and he was also a shit ruler. You know who ruled the conquered seven kingdoms for Aegon: His Wives Rhaenys and Visenya, He knew how to stay in his lane, Dany needs to learn the same.

Dany swooping into save the day because her bestie Jorah and her crush Jon were in danger was cinematically beautiful though and definitely left an impact. I don’t however mistake this for Dany caring in anyway for the North or the its people. Her conversation with Jon Snow on the boat she tells him

Daenerys: The dragons are the only children I will ever have. Do you understand?

She looks angry when she says this to him. Does Jon understand what? The great sacrifice she made? Yes, he does, he’s grateful. She’s the one who doesn’t seem to understand, she barely mourned Viserion, and seemed more worried for Jon Snow. But what else could this mean? What is Dany’s main motivation in the series? Vengeance. She will pay you back for every slight with fire and blood in her own twisted idea of morality and justice. Dany will fight the NK not for the North and the people of Westeros but for herself. To payback the Night’s King for killing Viserion. It has nothing to do with what’s best for the realm. Nothing Dany has done this season has been for the realm of people she claims she wants to rule. Does she understand the purpose of a ruler is to advocate for the people. She needs to take some pages from Jon’s book. Speaking of which….

Jon bends the knee and Dany is nothing short of jazzed. He finally sees the light. (Sarcasm heavily implied ) Only none of it makes sense because only an episode ago Jon was refusing to bend the knee and she was telling him that the North is a piece of her kingdom, so pony up chump.  But I guess that’s not a big deal to the writers.

End Notes

This episode was the worst episode of Game of Thrones I have ever watched, not cinematically but story and character wise. There were so many plotholes that made the story make no sense and characters acting so off base from how they’ve been portrayed over the seasons.

Kind of excited to see Viserion 2.0. Will he breathe Fire or Ice? Both?

I believe that Jon and Dany’s convergence is central to the plot, just not in the way people will expect it.

It’s clear that the main point of the series is between Ice and Fire. Many different types. Jon vs Dany, the Dragons vs the WW’s, Jon’s parentage.

Those Dragons are dangerous and pose a threat to not only the WW’s but also to the people of Westeros . I can’t see the series ending with them still living.

Are we sure that the White Walkers are evil? Have we ever been given a reason for why they are marching south? The only background we’ve been given is that  they used to be human and were turned against their will but the children of the forest to protect them against the First Men. Nothing about that to me screams Big Bad Evilness that must be eradicated from the world.

Sansa Stark deserves better.  That is all.

Jaime and Brienne meeting again. CAN NOT WAIT!!!!

I would’t be surprised if next season after Jon’s parentage comes to light, and he is revealed as Rhaegar’s heir, if Tyrion and Varys jump the Dany Ship and swim to the Jon lifeboat.

Littlefinger needs to die. Like Yesterday.

In the Land of the Rising Sun, people were segregated by the infamous social hierarchy of the rich and the poor. The rich were often born rich, and remained rich throughout their entire lives, spending their money lavishly on exotic items and balls. The poor, were born poor and remained poor forever, often working arduously for a living, or working for the rich.

Bokuto Koutarou was lucky. He was born into royalty, with his father being the king of the land. The Bokuto’s have been ruling ever since the land was discovered, and thus they remained rulers of the land.

Compendium of Dangerous Dragons and Drakes: VOLUME 3

Throughout history there have been many mythological creatures that inspire awe and fear in the hearts of man. yet, only one such beast has brought true terror with only its name. Legends tell of many with scales as tough as shields, claws as sharp as swords. Mighty wings that black out the sky and their very breath a harbinger of their destruction.

Below, we have compiled a list of dragons created from our followers to inspire any story you as both a player or dungeon master might create.

katharkness  asked:

Headcanons request: Space supernatural. Everyone's a vampire, or werewolf, or ghost or demon or something. Angel Jedi and fallen angel Sith. Rituals for Force-sensitives to merge with their spiritual form. Just really crazy mythology in space.

So I did do the original and prequel trio but I feel like it was too much for one post–and it was all about angels so I decided to make that separate.

This features more of a variety.

Rey

Harpy

So harpies were female monsters from both the Roman and Greek mythology; they had the body of a bird with a human face. They steal food from people while they eat and carry fiends to the Erinyes (Furies/infernal goddesses). They were apparently wind spirits to begin with and their name names snatchers.

So Rey, our little scavenger gal, is more humanlike, like the rest of them. With dusty wings, that are tattered and torn and she can’t fly with them. She’s trapped on the ground, forever it seems. She dreams of what it would be like to fly and touch the clouds. She wonders if she can scoop the rainwater right out of them. It’s not unheard of for beings other than angels being Force sensitive.  It is unheard of for someone like her—a scavenger, a harpy—to be so powerful. She wonders if she’ll be strong enough to fly one day. But after flying ships, she wonders if she’ll need to. She never thought she was anything special, but she beat the half-demon when no one else could. And she found Luke. The angel that vanished. His hair grey but his wings white and pure, still. And in his eyes… hope.

Finn

Dhampir

So as I’m sure most of you know dhampirs are mixtures of humans and vampire blood (perfect vampire hunters). They’re usually created when a vampire male and a human female do the do. Some features the dhampirs possess are heightened senses, strength, stamina, agility. It differs from mythology to mythology.

But our pal Finn is not only a dhampir but Force sensitive. (My first thought was what if his father was a vampire king bc we need more Prince Finn, okay?) Anyway, the FO collected dhampir children because they’re loyal and they’re good fighters and the human in them makes them more obedient. So a harpy and a dhampir teaming up with Han Solo, the demon, and Chewbacca (or should we say Chupacabra?) doesn’t sound like the best combo. But they get shit done. Finn looks into the face of danger (who we’ll be talking about soon) and goes all half vampire with the heart and soul of a human on his ass. And loses. But hey, he got a few good ones in.

Poe

Hoopoe

Right so I had to do some researching for Poe (and no I didn’t choose it for the name) but hoopoes are real birds but they’ve also been featured in many mythologies, such as Greek and Egyptian. Strikingly beautiful and many regard the bird as the ruler of the aviary kingdom. Their mating call is a distinctive oop oop oop cry (please imagine Poe shouting this at Finn). Similar to a butterfly, it nearly closes its wings when it flies. It also releases a bad smelling substance to ward off prey. But anyway this bird is fabulous af. Its feathers are black and white with orange on its neck and head. They know they’re fabulous and they know they’re basically royalty. (And there’s some deeper stuff about how we’re part of the transcendent, cosmic unity but we’re not getting into that.)

Anyway, so similar to Rey, Poe is more a humanlike being with wings—however his are big and beautiful, made up of browns and whites and oranges. He loves to fly. More than anything. His feathers ruffle when he gets excited, which is all the time around his cute dhampir bf. He took Rey flying after it was all over. To show her what it was like. The Harpy of Hope, they called her. But he was just flying around a curious kid and the stars shone in her eyes.

And let’s not forget the villains bc I’m far too invested in them.

Kylo

Half-angel

So I know angels can’t actually breed but its SW, so we’re gonna gloss over that fact (just like the creators do). But anyway, half-angels. Impure. Unholy abomination of gods and men alike. Tainting the Garden of Eden with their sin. As to what angel he is, he’s a power, like his grandfather before him (more on that in part 2). Vulnerable to sin. It’s almost inevitable.

Ben Solo, offspring of the archangel Leia Organa and the demon Han Solo. The child that shouldn’t be. The half-demon. The monster. Born with black, rotting wings and no halo. It’s no wonder the Dark Side ensnared him in its blackness. He thought himself so hideous. His decaying feathers shed all over the Finalizer, as he stalked and brooded and destroyed things. Hux likes his feathers. He was the first one to do so. He didn’t like much else about Kylo but he took what he could get, especial from someone so beautiful as the General. Who he still hates. He could hardly remember what light looked like until he saw the harpy. She was glowing, like an angel. Like he should have been. He watched her glow fade as the vanished from sight, leaving him on the dying planet and he wondered if he’ll see her radiant light again. He wanted to steal it.

Hux

Phoenix

The firebird. Associated with the sun. Said to regenerate over and over. New life rising from the ashes of its predecessor. When the phoenix dies, it’s in a show of combustion and flames before decomposing and then is born again. They can live for over a millennium before rebirth. The phoenix represents renewal, the sun, time, the (Roman) Empire, resurrection.

Listen. I couldn’t think of anything more perfect for Hux. The Order, rising out of the ashes of the Empire, bigger and brighter, Hux leading the military to bloody glory. Like the others, humanlike, and his wings are as bright and fiery as his hair, smoking and igniting when his anger rises. He wants victory. He wants to bathe himself in the blood of his enemies until his feathers are ripping with red. And if he dies, someone else will take his place. They can’t destroy the Order. It will rise and rise and rise. Past the gore and decay of those who fall for its success. Hux will set half the galaxy on fire before he lets them take him down.

Phasma

Amazon

The Amazons were a race of female warriors from the Greek mythology. In classical art, they were often depicted in battle with Greek warriors. They were also associated with historical figures of the Roman Empire and the Late Antiquity.  And the Amazons were supposedly the ones to invent the cavalry.

So Phasma is our female warrior. Sharp, efficient, dangerous. Leading her cavalry of warriors, of varies race and species, all in the name of the Order. Phasma represents everything the Order stands for. Victory. Ascension. Phasma fights like no other, sleek and beautiful in her shining armour. A conqueror.

Owari no Seraph - A Theory

I’m usually someone who stands on the sidelines in the Owari no Seraph fandom, but I couldn’t help myself this time. Certainly not after I found barely any theory material concerning the latest episode. So here I am, writing my own piece. It’s mostly me ranting and trying to figure something out, so don’t expect a big revelation, but I guess it does clear something up. The theory I wrote is mainly about the Trumpets seen in the last episode as well Mirai and Yuu. More under the cut!

some wild headcanoning: agriculture in Beleriand

A while ago I mentioned a metaphysical defense of how the Noldor settled a significant part of their strength so far from the front lines: The Amanyar won’t have children in wartime. If the Noldor wanted to genuinely settle in Beleriand as emigrants seeking a new homeland, they had to have a place where they could drop their posture of war and actually set down some roots. (Every Noldor birth we know of in Beleriand happened in Nargothrond or Gondolin, with the possible exception of Gil-Galad).

I still think that was probably a consideration, but now I’ve realized there’s probably a way more significant one.

The armies of the North needed agriculture.

Hithlum is, I think, at loosely the latitude of Ontario. (if you think the Shire is Great Britain, then the situation is much worse than that; Hithlum sits barely outside the Arctic Circle). Dorthonion and the eastern marches would be similar (Dorthonion even worse, actually, because of the elevation.) The Mithrim Sindar managed living in those conditions as hunter-gatherers, but the sudden more-than-doubling of the population would put a lot of pressure on those food sources (and the rising of the Sun confounds all of this.) And the Noldor wouldn’t have been able to spend all their time scavenging for food, because, you know, war to fight.

And they have cavalry, which also requires food, and even accounting for the enhanced abilities of horses out of Valinor I doubt the horses could graze on the plains of Ard-galen in wintertime.

And after a few hundred years they have mortal vassals living on the same lands, which more than doubles again the population and the need for food.

So let’s roll with this for a minute and rethink Beleriand politics on the assumption that you couldn’t grow enough food to sustain an army in any of the lands north of Gondolin…
