How to Read Energy and What to Expect

As many of you know, one service I offer on this blog are energy readings. I have gotten a lot of inquiries on how I do these readings, so I would like to inform you on my methods as well give you tips on how to do them yourself. Please note that I am not an expert nor do I have the final say on how to do energy readings properly, this is just my experience.

Understanding Energy
The way I understand energy is as the force that inhabits everything at one point or another. Everything has an energy signature, down to the smallest grain of sand. However, the energy of living things is a bit different. There have been many names given to this energy but it is most often known as one’s life force. The hardest part of an energy reading is picking up on one’s particular energy among the trillions of energy sources swirling around at any given moment, but I will tell you how I do this.

How to Read Someone’s Energy

My method for reading energy is going to be different from everyone else’s. Your method for reading energy will be different from everyone else’s. Everyone has their own techniques for reading energy, but here are a few of mine.

  1. Sit in a comfortable location with at least part of you pressed firmly against the ground.
  2. If you are reading for someone irl, have them sit near you. Physical contact often helps if both of you are comfortable with that.
  3. If you are reading for someone not physically present, it can help to have a piece of them “sit” in front of you. I ask for names and blog urls when I do my readings so that I have an energy signature to focus on but you really can use anything or nothing at all, whatever helps you get a lock on the other person’s energy.
  4. Sit in front of the person or blog and close your eyes. A bit of meditation before you try to tap into their energy is a good idea.
  5. Feel the energy of the earth under you and feel out this individual’s energy as it appears, a piece of the earth just like you.
  6. Grab onto this energy. Snatch it from the earth just briefly. Images, smells, tastes, sounds, colors, and feelings should come to you as you feel their energy. Keep a mental note of what you experience and write it down once you return.
  7. What you have experienced while feeling someone’s energy is their energy reading. It may be a bit of a jumbled mess, but that’s okay. Everyone’s energy is different but there may also be some overlap, which is also okay.

You can give someone their energy reading in many forms. I give mine as a paragraph with everything I saw, yours may be only a line or two. Everyone experiences different things when reading energy and having shorter readings isn’t a bad thing. You may even pick up on more or less energy from each individual. Its totally okay if some readings are long and others very short.

So…. What if your energy reading doesn’t resonate with me, like, at all?

There could be a great number of reasons your reading went screwy. As I said before, energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it simply changes shape. This being said, it could be a number of factors.

  1. I am picking up not on your energy, but the energy of someone very close to you. If you have been in contact with them recently, pieces of your energy sometimes clings to them.
  2. It could also be that I am reading into the energy of one of your past lives, something you won’t necessarily resonate with or remember.
  3. It could also be that the reading was accurate but maybe some part of it was hard to hear, or some repressed memory. This is not the fault of the reader, in the long run it is up to the client to interpret the reading.
  4. It could also be external factors in my own life clouding my ability to pick up on your energy. My cat knocks over a vase in another room and not thinking I write that in as your energy because I was so lost in the moment.
  5. It could also be you’re my last in a long line of energy readings and I am exhausted and hurriedly trying to get through your reading without paying attention to detail.
  6. It could be any number of things, all acting upon one another. Keep an open mind.

Whatever the reason for your energy reading not being accurate, it is best to just be polite and move on. No good will come of harassing a reader, especially if they are offering a free service.

I just did an energy reading and I’m exhausted!

Yup, that’s a real thing and totally normal. Energy readings can be draining, especially for beginners, as you expend some of your energy when you tap into the earth and go out in search of other energies. This is especially draining at first if you have not yet learned how to shield your energy when searching in the energy field and subsequently some of it may be leeched out. Here are some self care tips to help you regenerate faster.

  1. Time yourself. I like to light a stick of incense before I start my readings. Once it is completely burned out, I stop no matter what I’m doing and go drink some water and just do something I enjoy for 30 minutes or so before returning to readings.
  2. Eat or drink something sugary or high in carbohydrates while you read to return energy lost. I like to munch on sweet cherries while I read.
  3. Learn to shield yourself from energy drain. I imagine my energy dressed in a suit of impenetrable armor before I search out someone’s energy. Your shield can come in any manor of form, find one that feels right to you and keeps the pesky energy leech out.
  4. Take little breaks in between readings, even just a minute or two to catch your breath.
  5. Use crystals to return your energy. I like to take some moon-charged amethyst and hold it in my palm during breaks, feeling its energy flow into me.
  6. Practice self care. Shower, change your clothes, put on some lotion or makeup… Anything like that will help replenish energy.
  7. Take a nap! I have a bad habit of doing energy readings as soon as I wake up and then I’m dead for the rest of the day. Napping helps immensely.
  8. Know your limits. You probably won’t be able to do 20 energy readings your first day. Pacing is so important.
  9. If you are doing energy readings online, be prepared to use the block button. Some people are going to be rude, but that is their problem not yours.
  10. Have fun! If energy readings become stressful take a break. If someone is waiting on you for their energy reading, they will understand if it comes a little late. If not, fuck ‘em. You don’t owe anything to people who don’t care about your well being as a reader.

There are a great many things you can do to recharge after an energy reading, but these are just a few of my favorites. Everyone is different, and respecting that is key.

Remember actually enjoying yourself is key. Good luck with your energy readings!

A Little D for a Big A-hole.

When I was in eighth grade, my middle school French class took a trip to Québec City. My school was in the whitest part of whitest Connecticut and I had moved there a few years before from Atlanta. You can imagine the Izod-style culture shock I went through.

In any case, we were up in Québec City in February, for some awful reason. Probably because the prices were cheapest for hotels, I don’t know. I do remember it was cold and windy and snowed a lot.

I was a pretty geeky kid, unsurprisingly. I read Star Wars expanded universe novels during the morning reading period. I had disappeared into fantasy worlds after my brother died a few years before, just months after we moved to New England. Since my brother had died and I was a new kid, no one really knew how to be my friend. Some people were nice to me for awhile, but most ignored my existence.

One of the few people who took pity on me was the daughter of my church’s minister, who was in the same year as me. She’d invite me to eat lunch with her and her friends, even though I could tell her friends did not want me there.

Despite growing up speaking French, I was placed in introductory French – and never moved, because there was so much going on with my brother’s accident and eventual death that no one really bothered with my education. Thankfully, my French teacher was kind and would let me help lead the spoken French bits in class. This one boy liked to hang out after class and would mock me after I left, pinching his nose and doing his best “make fun of the French” accent. He liked to make my life hell in other ways, like stealing homework, tearing pages out of schoolbooks, or shoving my shoulder whenever he “bumped” me in the hallway. I had dealt with worse bullying before, so I mostly just tried to ignore him. His was never very serious, but it was constant.

In any case, I asked these girls I ate lunch with if I could room with them on this trip. I did not want to be randomly assigned somewhere. They grudgingly agreed to it.

Once we got to Québec, things changed. Our teachers told us we were allowed to explore the city in small groups and we were to use French only when interacting with shopkeepers and the like. Well, the girls I was rooming with quickly realized I was the only student in our class who actually spoke French. I helped my roommates order things at bakeries and make change and navigate around the city. Word quickly spread and by the end of the first day, several classmates came to me for phrases they could use.

On the second day of this trip, we were all supposed to meet up in this square in the old city at a particular time after being allowed to wander for a few hours. My group turned up a few minutes early and a group of boys – with my favorite harasser – was already there. The boys were clearly planning some kind of prank; there was a lot of stifled laughing and looking our way. The harasser came over to our group. He asked me how to say, “Are you my mother?”

Well, for those who don’t know:

“Es-tu ma mère?” means “Are you my mother?”

“Es-tu ma merde?” means “Are you my shit?”

Can you guess which one I told him? He had never paid attention in class, so to his ears (and the ears of our classmates), it sounded right. And no one would ever suspect quiet, mousy, geeky me of any shenanigans.

He went up to a stranger and asked her if she was his shit just as one of our teachers came around the corner. He got hauled by his ears, the teacher apologizing profusely to the woman while simultaneously scolding my harasser. Kid immediately tried to blame it on me but his protestations were immediately dismissed. The teacher did check with everyone, but no one had heard the difference in the language used so backed up my version of events.

He had detention for the rest of the trip and was not allowed to participate in any of the activities. He had to sit on the bus and write an essay.

He was far more cautious about being an a**hole to me in the future.

little things about Invader Zim
  • zim’s skin is liquefied, weaponized, and then used to douse the entire student body
  • GIR destroys a whole city in search of tacos, along with physically and violently attacking children for candy alone. these are separate episodes and not an isolated event.
  • Irken Invaders are equipped with self-destruct programs.
  • Some form of meat is either an obstacle or a tool on multiple occasions
  • there is a child whose name is The Letter M
  • Zim receives a beating heart as a Christmas donation from complete strangers passing him on the street
  • it makes sense that nobody would believe Zim is an alien, considering the characters of Pigboy and Shunk Wugga
  • Minimoose just… appears
  • Keef’s head absorbs milk.
  • Zim yelled “my tallest” for three hours and apparently nobody tried to end the transmission but instead wait for him to stop
  • Walnuts apparently ruined the 3D budget
  • The whole skool is hypnotized by a pimple
  • PEEPI
  • the general concept of Bolognius Maximus

  • the cat chorus during Zim’s speech in FBI Warning of Doom
  • the entire episode of Backseat Drivers from Beyond the Stars
  • Zim attempting to weaponize Christmas is remembered two million years after the fact
  • Bloody GIR in general
  • Zim canonically traps strangers in conversation in which he vents about his frustrations. It is entirely plausible Zim would use Omegle.
  • Zim’s escape plan in Frycook What Came from All That Space
  • GIR’s form at the end of Halloween Spectacular of Spooky Doom
  • it is implied Zim is at least a century older than Dib and the other children, but repeatedly assaults/tortures them.
  • dysfunctional robots with no concept of right or wrong or even with a clear goal as robots attempt to eat a child. upon being thwarted, they attempt to murder Zim.

6 Motivation Tips for College

As we all know (or have heard), college is a seriously hands-on-deck, time consuming experience, no matter what you study. That’s not to say that it’s all stress-inducing, all the time, but it requires a different kind of time management and focus than what you’re used to in high school. The difficulty of it all can sometimes be a little overwhelming/disheartening, which is why it is always important to find different ways to stay motivated and on-task. Here are some of the ways I keep myself going when I’m so close to quitting:

1. Picture the end-game: this is a classic. Whenever I’ve studied so much that I’m close to tears, I remember my goals. Short-term first, then long-term. I think, “Okay, no, you can’t give up because you told yourself at the beginning of this semester that you wanted all A’s. You have to keep going for those A’s.” and afterwards I follow it up with, “And why is it that you want those A’s? Because you want to get into a kickass med school!”

2. Think about others/build expectations: sometimes, just thinking about yourself isn’t enough. I have my slacker periods when I think “So what if I don’t do well in this test? I’ve done well enough in others”, or “I’ll do better in the next one”. I try to remember that I’m trying to build a relationship with the professor during this class; it gives me an extra ‘oomph’. I may exaggerate that relationship sometimes, but it helps to think that the professor is used to work of high caliber from you, and that he/she expects you to do well. This one works well for me because I don’t like disappointing people, and I take meeting expectations as a personal challenge.

3. Be competitivewith yourself: don’t, I repeat, don’t compare yourself to others. You get nothing out of it. If there’s something you learn from the studyblr community, it’s that everybody learns and executes in a different way. Personally I’ve found that competition in classrooms does not motivate me, because it’ll just end up making me feel bad whether I do better or worse than others. But competing against myself? Much better. I try to push myself to do a little better than I did last time, or start revising a little earlier for the next test. When I compare my new results with older ones, it’s a learning experience even if I don’t do better. It helps me understand myself and my needs a little more.

4. Take a break: when people tell you that you can’t stop or you won’t get everything done? THAT IS A LIE. A breather is necessary as heck!!! If you’re feeling overwhelmed or anxious, you won’t learn as well or be as productive than if you’re dedicated to your work. Sometimes I’m okay with just a few minutes of closing my eyes and listening to a favorite piece of music, other times I need something a little longer like a 20-minute episode of The Office. I try not to let it extend much more than that though, because from personal experience, the longer you put off starting up again, the harder it gets.

  • Pro tip: I’ve been talking to first year medical students recently to get advice for next August (for those of you who don’t know, I’ll be beginning my medical studies then), and one of them told me, “Listen. Everyone has their relaxation thing. I love hanging out and being with people, and sometimes I’m so fixated on the fact that I can’t go out and have fun with my friends because I’m stuck studying that I throw 3 hours away just staring at my book. I’ve learned that it’s better to just get that thing you want to do out of the way, and then go back and study. You’ll be happier and feel a lot better than you did before.” (WITH DISCRETION, OBVIOUSLY)

5. Stationery: ah, yes, like most of you, I am obsessed. Sometimes all it takes is just finding the perfect pen and paper for what I have in mind to keep myself going.

6. Get involved in the studyblr community: at first, just observing to get ideas about things you want to try is enough to give you an extra boost of motivation, but when you feel like you’re starting to slack off again, try getting involved. Try posting some of your own revision notes or stationery pics! Honestly this community is one of the most warm and welcoming ones out there, and it is super inspiring to get notes and messages from people all over the world who encourage you to run that extra mile, do that extra work to reach your goals.

I hope this serves as useful, and good luck studying to each and everyone of you. Aim high and keep going!

Pluto Through the Houses of Astrology

Pluto is a generational planet, it takes a long time for it to transition into a different sign, it takes somewhere from 14-30 years, so it doesn’t take part in our daily life. Although, where it’s placed in the houses is far more important than the sign, because that changes by the hour. I will start off by explaining what exactly is Pluto? Well, Pluto is the co-ruler of the sign Scorpio. Now, we all know something about Scorpio ;) (hehehe) There are 5 main themes of Pluto. One is transformation, two is destruction, three is intensity, four is rebirth, and five is obsession. Pluto is also known to be the ruler of the underworld which can be very intimidating and powerful. He’s mentioned in many books, and my favorite mention of Pluto is Inferno by Dante Alighieri, where Plutus is the lord of the 4th Circle for those who are the Miserly or Prodigal, which means people who sinned by trying to control money and fortune were to be in the 4th Circle. As many of you may know, the 8th house rules other people’s money, due to Pluto being the ruler of that house along with Mars. Now that we’ve learned a few things about Pluto, I will explain what it means when it goes through each house!

Pluto in the 1st house: The 1st house is the house of your identity, public persona, first impression, personality, and physical appearance. So when Pluto is placed here, you can be a bit of an intense person because you come off as different from society, you don’t mind hanging in the shadows. Being in the public eye and having everyone know about you can annoy you a little. You change a lot, whether it’s weight, height, style, personality, so on. Each person thinks of you differently because of that. You can have a bit of a dark atmosphere hanging around you, and your eyes are hypnotic, demanding, and very powerful. You can seem a bit power hungry yourself, always trying to be in control. 1st house also represents the story of your birth, and early childhood. Your birth could’ve been painful, intense, and transformative for your mother. In your early childhood, there could’ve been a war in your birthplace, or some sort of deep conflict that later brought enlightenment.

I remember when you loved me. When you would drive 3 hours just to see me for a few minutes on your way to practice or when you would drop off my favorite food for lunch to cheer me up on days I needed it. I remember how it felt to feel your love, feel your forehead kisses or your body next to me when I woke up. I remember running around your house, screaming with laughter or spending a night in and watching funny videos. I remember being your best friend, being the one you ran things by and wanted my approval. You wanted my input on your life and that was more than I could have ever asked for, that feeling of being wanted and needed. I remember the last time I saw you and how you reassured me the next time, I would see you for longer but that never happened.

Okay… There’s been a bunch of Silent Hill stuff popping up on my dash and I just feel like flailing about something.

So even if you’re not super familiar with the series, if you’ve seen anything, you’ve seen this guy:

He’s kind of the big boss of Silent Hill 2, and regardless of how much sense it does or doesn’t (mostly doesn’t) make, he appears throughout the rest of the series and the movies. He’s the biggest, baddest, and most overtly malevolent force in the whole of the Silent Hill universe.

Want to know how he’s first introduced?

No cut scene.

No jumpscare.

No swell in the music that sounds like someone either tased the entire string section or pushed a percussion cabinet down the stairs.

You just sort of find him behind an unsettlingly out-of-place set of prison bars.

And he just stands there, impotently staring at you while your radio goes ballistic with static. You’ve never seen him before. You’re not even really sure what he is at this point… just this reddish shape at the edge of your flashlight beam.

This, my friends, is how you do subtle horror. You make the player do the work for you. Because trust me, at this point in the game (which is a few hours in) your imagination is on overdrive, along with your heart rate and blood pressure.

It remains one of my favorite things about this series. It wasn’t afraid of being oblique and subtle. The creators of Silent Hill understood that horror is probably one of the most voluntary of narrative experiences. You have to suspend the so much belief to get the full experience.

So they have to seduce you. This is a seduction through and through. A tease of ankle under the hem of a very long skirt. They make you want to see more, even as you’re already white-knuckling the controller.

beyoncesnot  asked:

just wondering because my memory sucks and i'm lazy but have you ever done scooby doo meets batman

Yes indeed, and they were some mighty fine movies!

We’ll get to them again one day, but until then, here are some favorite moments:

Batman pulling a bat-shaped cookie out of his pants.

The Penguin being miffed at the endless supply of money in this clown’s butt.

Batman sometimes remembering to wear his tights, and sometimes…

…not so much.

This goblin guy dancing in the road, which – strangely enough – was one of the few things I remembered from seeing this when I was super little.

He and the dryad really weirded me out.

Robin’s mouth disappearing.

And, the best character of all…

this guy.

possibly one of my least favorite things about being a lesbian is that im going to know and be with and love so few people. im going to be so isolated. im not gonna have casual hookups, im not gonna get many chances to explore my sexuality and romanticism, im not gonna really Date, im not gonna have a network of friends and l*vers and etcetera like most people would. there are so few lesbians in the world that im not going to be able to have a social or romantic or sexual life that isnt just grabbing onto whoever and whatever i can get.

to you (unfinished, off the top of my head)

It all started with some friends and a van
a kick drum inside my ribs
Preaching electric into a microphone stand
Raise your red plastic cup
And Turn the laughter up
We fell asleep in the grass on the summer fest days
You’d never guess I’m still trying to get my head screwed on straight
All us believers still believe
Everytime we sing “two more weeks”
Someone shoulda thrown us in a cell and swallowed the key
Somebody shoulda told us to leave em be
The only news we tuned in to was the traffic update
Nothing feels as close to home as nightime windows down on 88
Lax to berlin and back
Wake up on the west coast inside a flask
The good books in the drawer next to the bed you pissed in
passports a blur, full of stamps from places I missed you in
They’ll tell you everything about last night that you forget
Pack your suitcase, joes in the back smoking a jazz cigarette
They hated me before they ever loved me
I’m not ready for things to change
I miss you missing me in the good old days
Got stuck in the cell of you and me
I guess it still beat solitary
—–Worry worry
Put my head in such a flurry
Freckle freckle
What makes you so special——-
One of these days yr gonna wake up in heaven
Laugh about that night you got four stitches above your eye
when they let the guitars fly
Never trust a band that wouldn’t bleed for you
Never believe in anyone who wouldn’t drive through the night
(To you)
They never tell you in school you’ll feel so alone
Wake me up again when were in the same time zone
The way I’d take a cornfield over a coast
Mulitply me times what you adore most
There were nights between yellow lines
When I confessed to you riding shotgun asleep under purple skies
They say
You get what you get
Well we Got lost in the middle of nowhere And you almost quit
Tonight Come together
Come apart
You can get lonely when u
Only read the charts
Called everybody I knew in this life
Can we get it together just for tonite

I miss old friends and “play it agains”
Please Send my love,
to everyone above

Pete posted the above to one of his secret blogspots (deleted long ago) on August 13, 2008. This has always been my favorite. A few things:

  • This was posted just before the release of Folie A Deux was announced, while the band was still working on the album, and was titled “to you (unfinished, off the top of my head)” (the you presumably being Patrick who was using the words for lyrics **I’m going to edit myself here and add that it can also be a broader “you,” meaning the fans). You’ll see a lot of lines from Coffee’s For Closers in here and the chorus from w.a.m.s
  • During the Save Rock and Roll record cycle, Patrick mentioned revisiting some of Pete’s older lyrics and finding some that he had initially dismissed for dumb reasons like being irritated with Pete over something else.
  • Cut to American Beauty/American Psycho and you can a slightly modified version of the line “When I confessed  to you riding shotgun asleep under purple skies” has made it into “Favorite Record,” along with references to “windows down,” “drive through the night,” and “play it agains.”
  • There are a lot of references in here to the band’s connection with/devotion to the fans–“All us believers still believe every time we sing ‘two more weeks’,” “Never trust a band that wouldn’t bleed for you, Never believe in anyone who wouldn’t drive through the night (To you)”
  • In this interview, Pete mentions “Favorite Record” was the song that almost didn’t make it on to AB/AP but that it won out because it felt like a song that was for the fans.

ORIGINAL WOY THEME SONG DEMO RECORDING!

I found this little treat while backing up an old hard drive.  It’s the first theme song demo we submitted to the Wander Over Yonder folks back in 2012!  Music by me, lyrics by Craig McC, performed by The Two Man Gentlemen Band.

The band was on tour when Disney first reached out to us to submit some ideas for the theme song.  We didn’t have time in the tour schedule to get into a recording studio so we sang this into my iPhone in a hotel room somewhere in Virginia.  Lo-fi wins again!

You’ll probably notice right away that this isn’t the tune that ended up being the theme song.  But, we did get to use it in the Little Guy.  And I’ve snuck the melody into the score a few times, too, usually when Wander and Sylvia are having a “friendship” moment.  It’s one of my favorite things that I’ve ever written.

Enjoy!

You couldn’t help but chuckle as you scrolled through your Instagram.

“What’s funny?” Joe asked, looking down at you. You were on your back on the couch, your head on his lap, his fingers running through your hair. You passed your phone to him, showing him Caspar’s Instagram post with Maddie.

“They’re so cute,” you said, reaching up to toy with the strings of Joe’s hoodie.

“We’re cuter,” Joe smiled at you.

“I know,” was all you said, but Joe knew you well enough to read what you didn’t say. He took your hand, kissing the back of it gently.

The two of you were a very open couple when it came to each other, but not when it came to the rest of the world. Joe wasn’t really one to share his personal life, and that included you. You understood it, of course. After seeing all the hate on Maddie’s profile, or any girl who could possibly have any connection with any of the boys for that matter, you didn’t have to question why Joe wanted to keep your relationship a secret.

That didn’t mean it didn’t suck though. From no PDA in the vlogs to no social media posts, it was hard to keep up with sometimes. Joe was Joe, but Joe was also thatcherjoe, and not being a part of that side of his life was almost like missing a big part of him. Sometimes, you just wanted to post a cute picture of your boyfriend. All the thoughts made you feel selfish, so you never brought them up, but Joe saw right through you anyways.

“I wish we didn’t have to hide either,” he murmured to you. “I’d show you off to the whole world if I could.”

“You can you know. I’m sure I’ll develop a tough skin,” you replied.

“You shouldn’t have to.” His voice was sharp, and you tread carefully.

Hi Sandsverse, are you guys winding down? These blogs have been my favorite thing to happen on Tumblr since I joined in 2010/2011. Please consider sticking around for a few more years! I'm sure it's a lot of hard work but it helps me through the rough times I'm going through and I appreciate Seymour, Elmer, and Horace so much. You're a force for good on this internet, and I don't know how I'll make it through four years of Trump without you all.

So, Janna Ordonia is likely to be Filipino American.

No explicit stereotyping, no exaggerated accent, just a girl with an ambiguous skin tone and a personality and character destinct from her heritage.

Just… speaking as a Filipino American myself, and someone whose been accused of being whitewashed by a few different people, I just have to say I’m happy.

I doubt this this is going to be seen as some stunning, progressive move on Disney’s part, especially since the gay kiss scene is getting far more news coverage, but that doesn’t matter. I think it’s important that this isn’t a big deal, and that we treat Janna just like any white character. I don’t want special treatment, and I don’t want her South-East-Asianness to interfere with my favorite character.

I mean, I know some people are going to say different things, like “She’s not asian enough”, but people forget that people like her do exist. It’d be amazing if we had some show that embraced the Filipino culture whole heartedly, especially since the only other representation we have in western animation is The Nutshack , but to be brutally honest, I don’t think I’d be able to connect with that show as much as I have with this show. Of course, I’m only speaking for myself, but whatever.

So its not that big a deal, but it’s still nice. A reminder that representation matters. Let’s hope we have more characters like Janna in the future.

A Little D for a Big Asshole

He was far more cautious about being an asshole to me in the future.

tl;dr: bully tried to be a smart-ass in French on a class trip; I added a letter and changed the meaning of a word, which got him in huge trouble. No one suspected me of anything.

She stared down at the bright pink, sugary drink sitting in front of her. The intense smell of strawberry, sugar syrup invading her nose. Nudging the picture perfect milkshake out of her line of Vision, she couldn’t stop thinking about what her mother had said,

“You’re looking very puffy Elizabeth, I can’t believe all the weight you’ve put on. It’s all those sugary drinks you’ve been consuming, Polly would never let herself get this way.”

“You okay B?” The feminine voice of her gorgeous raven haired friend broke her out of her thoughts. She would give anything to look like Veronica. Her body was lean and her slender face held none of the baby fat Betty was sure held permanent residence on her own face.

“Yeah! I’m fine. Just thinking.”

Veronica and Kevin fell back into conversation about Audrey hepburn.

“You haven’t touched your milkshake, is it too cold?” The moody, beanie wearing boy beside her questioned, pulling the straw into his own mouth.

She smiled, admiring the way his muscular arms stretched across the booth, he could eat whatever he wanted and never gain a pound, she had just recently discovered how built his body was underneath all those layers on clothing. It was a well kept secret. Well if you weren’t Betty cooper who couldn’t manage to keep her hands off of him.

“No , no it’s fine.” She dipped her finger into the whipped cream shooting him a smile and popping it into her mouth.

He raised an eyebrow, smiling hesitantly.

The conversation continued for the next hour until Veronica’s mother came to pick her up, Kevin hitching a ride.
“Walk me home?” she whispered

“You got it Juliet.” He winked

She giggled as they hit the street, they walked in comfortable silence before Jughead broke the quiet

“You okay bets? You’ve been quiet all day.”

She smiled at his concern,

“I’m fine juggie, just a lot on my Mind.”

“Well my favorite blonde, I suggest you stop thinking so much, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.” He smirked as they reached her house

“Thanks jug, I’ll keep that in mind.” She rolled her eyes, smiling.

“Your castle awaits” he said gesturing towards her front door.

“Thank you my prince.” She curtseyed, “I’ll see you tommorow.”

As soon as she reached for the doorknob he called her name “Betty?” She turned around raising a brow

“If you ever need to talk, I’m always here.” He said smiling softly

“Thanks juggie.” Before the door closed and he headed in the direction of his house

Something wasn’t right about Betty, she was hardly eating anything, he watched her skip over lunch, pushing food around her plate. And dinner at pops was almost nonexistent. She looked tired and he noticed the way some of her clothes hung off her shoulders. It made his stomach clench and his chest hurt. This was Betty he was talking about, if she was hurting she would tell him

Right?

Turning to face herself in the mirror, betty lifted her sweater over stomach, running a hand over the almost flat area. She punched the skin there and frowned. Her mom was right , she was getting big, sure her pants were loose on her but she couldn’t see any difference, her thighs still jiggled a little bit as she ran the track and her cheeks were just as chubby as ever.

A knock on the window scared her, causing her to rip her sweater back down over her body. Turning she spotted Jughead scaling the ladder he had placed by her bedroom window. She smiled and went to help him lift the window.

“Juggie!”

“What’s up?” He climbed through the window smiling confused at her.

“Just getting ready for school, what are you doing here so early?”

“Thought I could walk you to school, we can grab breakfast on the way.” He raised a brow, waiting for her answer.

“Oh juggie, I was gonna run the track a few times before first period, raincheck?”

He sat on her bed

“Bets you’ve rainchecked me all week, you’ve run that track so much I’m surprised you still have feet to run with.”

She smiled nervously
“Come on, don’t be silly, exercise is good for you.” She grabbed her bag, moving to climb out the window.

He watched her for a second, his eyes moving to the mirror he caught her staring at herself in just minutes before. What was happening to her?

She talked the whole way to school, leaving him no time to ask her anything.

“Okay juggie, I’ll see you after school, I hate tuesdays we don’t have any blocks together.” She pouted.

He smiled softly

“It’s not my favorite day of the week either, you sure you don’t wanna grab something to eat in the caf? I can bring you something?” He asked a little desperately.

She shook her head placing a hand to his cheek,
“I’m okay juggie, I’ll see you later okay.” He nodded silently, it felt like he was always watching her walk away these days.

The day went by so incredibly slow for Jughead, all he could think about was Betty and that fact that her collar bones were becoming more and more prominent. It didn’t make any sense to him, he loved food, he would never pass up food especially not willingly.

Kevin seemed to catch on that something was on his new friends mind,

“Penny for your thoughts” he said in jugheads ear, causing the dark haired boy to jump.

“Jesus, Keller you can be really creepy you know that?”

Kevin smiled “you flatter me, anyway what’s on your exceptionally intelligent mind?”

Jughead allowed himself to stroke his ego at the compliment, before instantly frowning again.

“It’s Betty, I don’t think she’s eating, I mean it’s so obvious she’s losing weight, she can’t afford to lose anymore weight she’ll waste away. And all she wants to do is run on that damn track, like I know she loves to work out but it’s getting crazy, she’s gonna run herself sick, and I tried talking to her but..”

Kevin cut him off with a shake of his head
“It’s just like last year.”

Jugheads head snapped up

“Last year, this already happened?”

Kevin sighed sitting down
“Last year, Betty tried out for the cheerleading squad and was turned away, Cheryl told her she was too fat and Betty pretty much lost it. She wouldn’t eat, she wouldn’t talk to anyone and she pretty much locked herself away in her room. It took the health teacher to finally get her help. It was scary, I thought I was gonna lose my best friend.” Kevin choked up a bit, shaking his head to rid himself of his tears.

Jugheads jaw clenched, no. He wasn’t gonna let that happen, Betty was beautiful and whoever was telling her differently was gonna have to speak to him.
“Thanks Kev, I gotta find Betty. I’ll see you later.”
He threw his books into his bag, Betty had said she’d meet him by the lockers but she wasn’t there. He waited about ten minutes before he shook his head. He knew where she was.

Taking off he practically ran to the track field. Sure enough there was Betty, sneakers pounding the pavement her chest heaving, her slim legs pumping and she came to a halt, bending over and placing her head in her hands.

Alright, that was it.

“Betty!” He called.

She whipped around , her eyes going wide when she caught his “what time is it?! Am I late?! I set my alarm, it was supposed to go off I was gonna meet you by the lockers!” She breathed heavy

“But you didn’t, you’re here. Running. Again.” He said trying to remain cool.

She raised a brow, confused by his tone

“If you’re Angry I’m late, I’m sorry I lost track of time I..”

He cut her off

“You aren’t eating.” He said bluntly.

Her eyes widened
“Jug..”

“You’re not eating, you’re skipping meals, you won’t talk to me, all you do is work out and You look so tired Betty.” He said softly.

Her eyes welled up and she looked away avoiding his eyes

“I’m fine juggie. I’ve just been busy.”

His hand went to her chin pulling her face up and towards his

“And now you’re lying to me.”

Almost in an instant, she broke down, her knees giving out as his arms went to hold her upright, wrapping around her waist.

“Jughead ..” she choked

“It’s okay bets, it’s okay”

He let her cry for a few minutes before gently pulling away.

“Talk to me ” he said with pleading eyes.

She took a deep shaky breathe,
“I’m gross, I’m huge, I.. I run and run and I’ll never look like Veronica, I skip meals and I’m still bigger than Polly. Everyone can see it. I don’t know what else to do.” She sounded so broken it made his heart physically hurt.

“No. you’re wrong, you’re beautiful. There is nothing wrong with your body. You don’t have to look like Veronica or Polly or even Cheryl, you’re gorgeous the way you are.”

She looked into his eyes, lip quivering

“But my mom…”
He cut her off

“Is unhappy with herself so she takes that out on you, she wishes she looked half as good as you do. All the girls in this school wish they looked like you Betty. You’re making yourself sick, I can see how tired you are and your clothes are hanging off of you. You need to eat, you need to sleep. Let me buy you dinner okay? Then I’ll take you home and you can sleep.”

Her eyes softened, only a few remaining tears leaking out

“…you really think I’m beautiful? I’m not too big?”

He clutched her hand in his bringing her even tighter against his chest .

“The most beautiful girl in this damn school , and you’re not even close to being big, you’re too small, but even if you were I wouldn’t change a single thing, you’re my favorite person Betty and I don’t appreciate you trying to take her away from me.” He smiled down at her.

She giggled lightly, reaching up to press her hand to his cheek.
“Thankyou juggie.”

He smiled clearing his throat

“Also” he choked

She looked at him confused and waiting

“What?”

He just stared at her. Was now the right time? he didn’t want to take advantage of her, but damn did he want to kiss her.

“What” she spoke again, this time smiling her eyes darting down to his lips

Screw it.

His mouth was on hers before she even had time to process what was going on. He was stroking her face gently and he couldn’t help but moan. Damn she was a good kisser. That familiar taste of peaches and cream he always smelt on her didn’t disappoint, she was gorgeous and soft and he never wanted to let go.

Pulling away he sighed out of relief, how long had he been waiting to do that? Too long.

She was smiling at him eyes closed when suddenly the sound of a gurgling stomach caused her to look up, blushing.

“Well I think that means it’s time to head out” he held open his palm ready to thread their fingers together. She obliged happily, snuggling into his side.

It was gonna take time but he was gonna help Betty Cooper slay all of her dragons.

One by one.

It’s been so long since I’ve posted here…! Actually there are a few reasons for that… The main one being I really haven’t properly drawn anything in months and the other being that somewhere along the line I got a little uncomfortable posting things on here. Well I guess we’ll see what happens in the future. I’m still taking commissions because I need money to live (lol) but for now here’s a doodle of my forever favorites
