jlcvisuals#Repost worldpressphoto with repostapp  Hello! My Name is Jay L. Clendenin (@jlcvisuals), I am a photographer at the Los Angeles Times and I am wrapping up my final day taking over the WPP Instagram feed! I’m showing some of my favorites portraits from over the last few years. I received a third prize in people, stories in this year’s contest (Olympians) and will be showing a variety of my portraits from over the years.
This is a #portrait of actor Norman Reedus (bigbaldhead) who the world knows from the TV series The Walking Dead.  I’ve now photographed Norman a couple times and can say, he’s one of the coolest and most mellow dudes I’ve collaborated with, even in the chaos of a event like Comic-Con International, where thousands of fans are chasing him down each day.

Thanks, love <3

(Also tagging @insomniasix since her questions are here ^^)

1) Is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?

- I…actually have a few WIPs in my Drafts that I’ve been putting off for a while (Kuro no Chikai, Rapunzel/Aranea, Kokoro, FFXV x Dragon Age, Reverse Arcana) ^^’ I haven’t been in the mood to write them out fully, sadly.

2) What work of yours, if any, are you the most embarrassed about existing?

- Well…sadly, all of my recent ones TT^TT Since people don’t really seem to like them all that much. But well, my friends (you included) like them well enough, so that’s fine.

3) What order do you write in? Front of book to back? Chronological? Favorite scenes first? Something else?

- I write beginning to end. Though that is a bit of a pain in the ass sometimes, especially if I want to just skip over everything and write the part I like/envision best in my head. That’s the problem with being a little OC ^^’

4) Favorite character you’ve written

- I like writing for all the characters, but I do have a particularly soft spot for Prompto. The stuff I write with him…somehow I manage to convince myself its canon.

5) Character you were most surprised to end up writing

- Ardyn, actually. I admit, I was pretty apprehensive to write him as anything but Trashcan Grandpa at first. But when I did Hacked and Shikiori no Hane, I realized that it’s pretty fun to write him.

I was tagged by the awesome @that-lovely-hippo thank you! ♥

IDK if I’ve mentioned this before, but since there’s talk of how to approach an accurate/nuanced translation of the word “baka” in anime on my dash, I thought I’d share one of my other favorite bits of oft-overlooked translating-Japanese nuance and how it applies to Sailor Moon.

Basically every Sailor Moon fan knows Sailor Moon’s catchphrase, “tuski ni kawatte oshiokyo!” which translates more or less into “In the name of the moon, I’ll punish you!”

The fun part, that I learned a few years back from my half-Japanese friend who has, since high school, lived full time in Japan, is the “oshiokyo” bit.

Oshiokyo does, in a literal sense, mean “I’ll punish you”. It’s a perfectly fine translation. But what it doesn’t get across is that the main people who use the phrase are parents, especially mothers, and it’s primarily used against children.

There’s not a perfect English equivalent, but it carries a similar tone to “someone’s getting a spanking!” or “you’re going into time out!” or “you’re in big trouble, missy!”

Basically, it’s not particularly threatening, and anyone who would think it was would be pretty childish. The fact that Usagi uses it as a legitimate threat is adorable in how much is reveals her age. It’s also badass and kind of condescending in that she’s basically treating the villains as unruly children instead of legitimate threats.

So there you go. Take this information and put new joy into one of the most well-trod parts of the Sailor Moon universe.

How to Read Energy and What to Expect

As many of you know, one service I offer on this blog are energy readings. I have gotten a lot of inquiries on how I do these readings, so I would like to inform you on my methods as well give you tips on how to do them yourself. Please note that I am not an expert nor do I have the final say on how to do energy readings properly, this is just my experience.

Understanding Energy
The way I understand energy is as the force that inhabits everything at one point or another. Everything has an energy signature, down to the smallest grain of sand. However, the energy of living things is a bit different. There have been many names given to this energy but it is most often known as one’s life force. The hardest part of an energy reading is picking up on one’s particular energy among the trillions of energy sources swirling around at any given moment, but I will tell you how I do this.

How to Read Someone’s Energy

My method for reading energy is going to be different from everyone else’s. Your method for reading energy will be different from everyone else’s. Everyone has their own techniques for reading energy, but here are a few of mine.

  1. Sit in a comfortable location with at least part of you pressed firmly against the ground.
  2. If you are reading for someone irl, have them sit near you. Physical contact often helps if both of you are comfortable with that.
  3. If you are reading for someone not physically present, it can help to have a piece of them “sit” in front of you. I ask for names and blog urls when I do my readings so that I have an energy signature to focus on but you really can use anything or nothing at all, whatever helps you get a lock on the other person’s energy.
  4. Sit in front of the person or blog and close your eyes. A bit of meditation before you try to tap into their energy is a good idea.
  5. Feel the energy of the earth under you and feel out this individual’s energy as it appears, a piece of the earth just like you.
  6. Grab onto this energy. Snatch it from the earth just briefly. Images, smells, tastes, sounds, colors, and feelings should come to you as you feel their energy. Keep a mental note of what you experience and write it down once you return.
  7. What you have experienced while feeling someone’s energy is their energy reading. It may be a bit of a jumbled mess, but that’s okay. Everyone’s energy is different but there may also be some overlap, which is also okay.

You can give someone their energy reading in many forms. I give mine as a paragraph with everything I saw, yours may be only a line or two. Everyone experiences different things when reading energy and having shorter readings isn’t a bad thing. You may even pick up on more or less energy from each individual. Its totally okay if some readings are long and others very short.

So…. What if your energy reading doesn’t resonate with me, like, at all?

There could be a great number of reasons your reading went screwy. As I said before, energy can neither be created nor destroyed, it simply changes shape. This being said, it could be a number of factors.

  1. I am picking up not on your energy, but the energy of someone very close to you. If you have been in contact with them recently, pieces of your energy sometimes clings to them.
  2. It could also be that I am reading into the energy of one of your past lives, something you won’t necessarily resonate with or remember.
  3. It could also be that the reading was accurate but maybe some part of it was hard to hear, or some repressed memory. This is not the fault of the reader, in the long run it is up to the client to interpret the reading.
  4. It could also be external factors in my own life clouding my ability to pick up on your energy. My cat knocks over a vase in another room and not thinking I write that in as your energy because I was so lost in the moment.
  5. It could also be you’re my last in a long line of energy readings and I am exhausted and hurriedly trying to get through your reading without paying attention to detail.
  6. It could be any number of things, all acting upon one another. Keep an open mind.

Whatever the reason for your energy reading not being accurate, it is best to just be polite and move on. No good will come of harassing a reader, especially if they are offering a free service.

I just did an energy reading and I’m exhausted!

Yup, that’s a real thing and totally normal. Energy readings can be draining, especially for beginners, as you expend some of your energy when you tap into the earth and go out in search of other energies. This is especially draining at first if you have not yet learned how to shield your energy when searching in the energy field and subsequently some of it may be leeched out. Here are some self care tips to help you regenerate faster.

  1. Time yourself. I like to light a stick of incense before I start my readings. Once it is completely burned out, I stop no matter what I’m doing and go drink some water and just do something I enjoy for 30 minutes or so before returning to readings.
  2. Eat or drink something sugary or high in carbohydrates while you read to return energy lost. I like to munch on sweet cherries while I read.
  3. Learn to shield yourself from energy drain. I imagine my energy dressed in a suit of impenetrable armor before I search out someone’s energy. Your shield can come in any manor of form, find one that feels right to you and keeps the pesky energy leech out.
  4. Take little breaks in between readings, even just a minute or two to catch your breath.
  5. Use crystals to return your energy. I like to take some moon-charged amethyst and hold it in my palm during breaks, feeling its energy flow into me.
  6. Practice self care. Shower, change your clothes, put on some lotion or makeup… Anything like that will help replenish energy.
  7. Take a nap! I have a bad habit of doing energy readings as soon as I wake up and then I’m dead for the rest of the day. Napping helps immensely.
  8. Know your limits. You probably won’t be able to do 20 energy readings your first day. Pacing is so important.
  9. If you are doing energy readings online, be prepared to use the block button. Some people are going to be rude, but that is their problem not yours.
  10. Have fun! If energy readings become stressful take a break. If someone is waiting on you for their energy reading, they will understand if it comes a little late. If not, fuck ‘em. You don’t owe anything to people who don’t care about your well being as a reader.

There are a great many things you can do to recharge after an energy reading, but these are just a few of my favorites. Everyone is different, and respecting that is key.

Remember actually enjoying yourself is key. Good luck with your energy readings!

Love is, “I know I’m going to be late to that important thing but I just had to see you.” Love is remembering to pick up the milk on the way home. Love is tiptoeing out of your room so they can get a few more minutes of sleep. Love is not moving when their head is on your shoulder and you have to pee. Love is the look shared when you’re surrounded by other people and it’s loud and they’re across the room from you. Love is memorizing the words to their favorite song. Love is not something you can see, but you can tell when it’s there.

Okay, so… I know a few people were anxiously awaiting this post of THE artbook.
I made an artbook of commissions for my bestie, @ruotaku2for her Birthday!
It consists of a combination of some of our favorite ships and friendships of Overwatch darlings!

Thank you so much to the artists who joined in on this. You’re all gems. xo
Holy crap, I can’t get over the sum of talent that this post is going to contain.

Hey, guys!

I don’t know about you, but I personally find audio stimulation incredibly necessary to my study sessions, drives, and whenever I go running. One of the best (free!) resources for this are podcasts. Not only do you get to listen to real people and expand your worldview, but you can learn something as well! I’ve listed a few of my favorites, feel free to add your own!

Planet Money is a fantastic foray into economics, sociology, and special interest for beginners and veterans in those fields alike. The hosts are always humorous and you will always come out of one of these 20-minute episodes understanding the world around you a little more.

Stuff You Should Know feels like How It’s Made for your ears. Even those boring topics you’d never look into a million years are brought to life with these guys!

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History helped me pass my AP World History exam. He takes the time to explore an incredibly complex era in history with intricate and enticing detail. Coupled with excellent storytelling abilities, you just might be able to cite the succession of the Mongol empire by heart.

TED Radio Hour is a great way to take your TED talks to go. 60 minutes of experts, professors, parents, widows, and so much more of real humans sharing their insights, experiences, and livelihoods with you. What else could you ask for!

Mac Power Users helped me understand that to master your craft, you have to master your tools. Hosts David Sparks and Katie Floyd explore how we can make iPhones, iPads, and Macs work for us and expand our productivity past where it ever could be.

Cortex focuses on the workflows and systems of a popular educational YouTuber, CGP Grey. They talk about email, current events in the tech industry, and how an output-based skillset has to evolve over time. It also brings up the importance of side projects to keep you engaged (Which is what this studyblr is for me!)

College Info Geek is quite possibly the most useful podcast I’ve ever listened to. It’s hosted by Thomas Frank, a college grad who managed to turn his college blog into a very successful small business. He reads hundreds of books on productivity and education and distils them down to bite-size chunks while also taking important questions about college, business, and learning.

Beyond the To-Do List is a podcast that explores the tools that a variety of industry leaders use to remain successful. Each person is unique and brings their own chemistry to the question of how to get your work done with as little resistance as possible.

Serial is a murder mystery. It blew up overnight and brings to light the questions of morality in the criminal justice system. A classic “Whodunit” with a good deal of investigative journalism.

Invisibilia is a podcast for those of you who love psychology and sociology. Through personal epitaphs from around the world, the invisible concepts that shape how we feel and how we see the world are discussed. This podcast gets browny points for being incredibly addictive and informative to boot.

S-Town is unlike anything I’ve ever heard before. It was a heart-wrenching, confusing, absolutely stunning piece of auditory journalism from an unexpected source. Warning: heavy language content and discussion of prejudice.

The Mind Palace is an intensive exploration of the history and art from unconventional and fascinating perspectives. Excellently edited and curated for massive historical enjoyment. Perfect for those of you who love Sherlock references and literary media alike!

That’s all, folks! Happy listening! Let me know what you listen to!

Hey!
I got a bunch of people message me they enjoy the songs I link in a few posts, so I decided to make a post just for the musics I use when I draw!

[I still need to finish this BNHA fanart with my two favorites characters wearing headphones]

Lately, you’d noticed your best friend Peter had become a bit distant, you’d see how tired he’d look when he came to school, how on edge he was all the time, even a few marks on his face from time to time.

You were concerned for your friend, but at the same time you were confused as to why he was shutting you out.

You’d noticed Ned had started becoming distant too, becoming closer with Peter and excluding you more.

Michelle had noticed this happening too, she too didn’t understand what was going on, but at the same time she didn’t really care, it didn’t involve her.

You walked over to your table at lunch, carrying the brown bag in your hand, as Michelle sat a few seats away like usual, her face in a book, however, you noticed Peter and Ned having an intense conversation, but the second they saw you, they stopped.

“Hey guys.” You smiled, but they didn’t return the smile, nor the friendly gesture.

You felt your heart break, what had you done that made them suddenly hate you so much?

“Is every thing okay?” You questioned hesitantly, looking between the two of them.

Ned and Peter glanced at you for a split second before looking at each other, letting out a sigh.

“Yeah, every thing is fine Y/N, just a rough day, that’s all.” Ned answered vaguely, as you nodded, clearly not convinced.

You couldn’t help but observe Peter, he looked tired, worn out, overall just miserable.

“Peter are you sure you’re alright?” You asked again, you didn’t believe that they were just fine you knew there was more than what they were letting on.

“Y/N, just let him be.” Ned pressed on, making you roll your eyes, a flash of anger going through them, making Ned shut up quickly.

“I don’t give a damn, I want to know what the hell is going on? Is that so bad?” You spoke angrily, watching as Ned shrunk in his seat as Peter just glared at the table, his anger finally peaking.

“You know what Y/N? You need to mind your own damn business, maybe if you did that more often you’d actually have friends! Maybe then we’d actually like to hangout with you more if you weren’t constantly trying to pry into our lives and figure us out all the time! It’s like you have no consideration for anyone but yourself!” Peter shouted, surprising not only himself, but Ned, Michelle and especially you.

Peter had never yelled at you before, especially not in front of everyone.

You sat there, wide eyed, unable to speak, your heart broken into a million pieces.

He did hate you.

You nodded slowly, tears brimming your eyes as you started packing up your lunch, no longer hungry and definitely no longer wanting to be around him.

“Sorry to have been such a burden to you.” You spat out, tears streaming down your cheeks as you stormed out of the cafeteria, throwing your lunch away as you left.

Peter sat there watching you leave, his heart breaking as you did, he knew he messed up, really bad.

“Dude what the actual hell was that!” Ned shouted, hitting Peter on the arm, making him wince.

“I don’t know! Ugh, I really don’t know.” Peter muttered, frustration clear in his voice.

Michelle on the other hand was watching every thing, although she never interfered with any of her table members, she felt this was a good time to break that.

“What you did was really fucked up Parker, she really cared for you, I hope you remember that.” Michelle commented, before grabbing her book and her apple, and exiting the table, leaving both of them in shock.

“Dude you’re so fucked.” Ned groaned, as Peter hit his head on the table, groaning out in frustration.

“I know, I don’t even know why I said what I did! It just came out without warning.” Peter sighed, rubbing his face with his hands.

“Honestly Peter, I don’t know if you can fix this one, I don’t think Spider-Man himself can fix this.” Ned whispered the last part, making Peter sigh sadly, he knew Ned was right, you were never going to forgive him.

He didn’t know what had gotten into him the past few weeks, his job as Spider-Man had become a bit more stressful, therefore adding extra stress into his regular life, and then on top of that there was school, where he was pressured into doing well all the time, and he just couldn’t balance it out recently.

He’d been loosing hours of sleep fighting off criminals as Spider-Man, therefore making him more tired in class, unable to focus on the lessons.

Sometimes he’d come to school with a new cut or bruise from his mission the previous night, causing Ned to panic when he’d see him at his locker.

And then there was you, the sweetest person he knew, his best friend, the one person who wouldn’t even hurt a fly, the one person who genuinely cared about him, and now he pushed you away by going too far.

He thought pushing you away at first was the best to protect you from what he actually did, but as time went on it just got worse, he knew how bad he was hurting you, and it hurt him too, but he kept telling himself it was for the best.

But then Ned started to avoid you too, which made Peter angry, he wasn’t supposed to ditch you too, but Ned was also his best friend too, which made it even more difficult.

Peter and Ned had avoided you the best they could for two weeks, slowly getting out of your life, to keep you safe of course.

But you, you found it the total opposite.

And now your assumptions were proven correct, and you couldn’t feel any worse than you already did.

This time it was your turn to avoid both Peter and Ned, you did for weeks, refusing to talk to them, look at them, sit with them, basically anything that involved them, you find a way out of it.

If you were such a burden to their lives why be in it at all? Wasn’t that what they wanted anyways?

Peter did say you always tried to pry into their lives and figure everything out, and that you had no consideration for anyone but yourself, so you decided maybe he was right.

That’s why you decided to change, you weren’t going to be that person anymore.

Weeks turned to months, and you were still ignoring them, they did their best to try and talk to you, but it was no use.

You on the other hand became best friends with Michelle and Liz, who also helped give you a complete makeover.

You decided to become a better version of yourself, you dressed nicer, did your hair and even put on makeup, something you never once used to do.

This surprised everyone the day you walked into school with Liz and Michelle, nobody had ever seen you like this before, and you weren’t going to lie, you loved how much attention you were getting.

You noticed Peter and Ned, watching you with wide eyes, which made you smirk slightly, you got what you had wanted.

Peter and Ned on the other hand, got the exact opposite, they changed you, for the worst.

“Dude what the hell!” Ned whisper shouted, looking at his best friend with wide eyes.

“I don’t know Ned, I guess I really hurt her, and now she’s getting us back by becoming something she isn’t.” Peter sighed, leaning his head in his locker, groaning as Ned just stood there still stunned.

“She did look good though, you have to admit that.” Ned nudged Peter who’s head shot up quickly, hitting his head on the locker shelf.

“Ow,” He muttered, rubbing his head before slamming his locker shut, “And alright yeah, she does look good, I hadn’t seen her like that before.” Peter shrugged, adjusting his backpack straps.

The bell rang, and everyone started going to their classes, sadly for you, your first class was with Peter and Ned.

“Alright, good morning everyone!” Your teacher Mr. Scott smiled, as you all gave blank stares.

“I see everyone is tired, but this is chemistry and it’s going to blow your mind and wake you all up! So, to do that, I’m assigning you all in groups to work on a project.” Mr. Scott picked up his paper, scrolling down the list, while reading off names.

“Y/N, Peter, and Ned, you’re all one group.” Mr. Scott announced, making your eyes widen as you glanced over at the two of them, who were equally as stunned.

He then dismissed everyone to get to work, you slowly walked over to their table, throwing your stuff on the desk.

Peter and Ned watched you anxiously, unsure of what to say, or even what to do.

“So, uhm, what do you think we should make?” Ned broke the awkward silence, you gave a shrug in response, not looking at them as Peter kept his stare on you, his heart beating faster.

“Y/N, do you have any ideas?” Peter pressed on, making you roll your eyes before looking up at him, his eyes widening, this was the first time in months you both made eye contact.

“I think you should go to hell.” You smiled, grabbing your pencil before writing down chemical formulas.

Peter’s mouth dropped open, that was the last thing he’d expected to hear you say, he felt his heart break more, but there was also a bit where anger was slipping in.

“You know after months, I thought you would of cooled off already.” Peter muttered, making your head snap up, your eyes narrowing at the brunette boy in front of you.

“I’m sorry, let me see, last I checked my ex best friend was super nice, but then he suddenly abandoned me, and then his other friend, who was also my friend, abandoned me, and then I was told I wasn’t a considerate person, because all I care about is myself, which is ridiculous because I distinctively remember trying to care about you and see what was wrong.” You shook your head, laughing at how in denial he was. “God you’re such an asshole.” You spat, your blood boiling as you grabbed your backpack, storming out of the classroom, despite your teacher yelling at you.

“Dude what is wrong with you? Are you trying to make her hate you even more than she already does?” Ned scolded, shaking his head at his friend as he sat there stunned.

What was wrong with him? Why couldn’t he just apologize for what he had done, now he just made it worse.

But that seemed to be the only thing he was good at doing lately.

Days passed since the incident in the classroom, you had told Liz and Michelle what had happened, they both were surprised Peter had the nerve to say that to you, but they were proud when you finally found the courage to stand up for yourself.

A few more days passed, you were at Liz’s house, having a movie night with her and Michelle, you started doing this so you would get over the other two who shall not be named.

“So Y/N, are you going to homecoming with anyone?” Liz questioned, popping a piece of popcorn in her mouth, Michelle also curious.

“I don’t know, I don’t really know that many people.” You admitted, shrugging your shoulders.

“Oh come on Y/N, basically the entire football team wants to take you!” Liz laughed, throwing popcorn at you as Michelle grinned.

“Oh hush.” You laughed, eating a piece of the popcorn that was thrown at you.

You felt your phone buzz in your pocket, you let out a groan, causing Liz and Michelle to look over at you.

“It’s my mom, I gotta go.” You sighed, giving a sad smile to your friends who begged you to stay, but eventually let you leave.

You started walking home, it was late, the sky was dark, sometimes you were nervous walking alone, but for some reason this time you weren’t.

That is until you felt some sticky substance connect to your shirt, and before you knew it you were flying across Queens.

“What the hell! Put me down!” You screeched, and thankfully the “kidnapper” put you down on a building rooftop.

“Oh great it’s you, Spider dude.” You muttered, trying to remove the web attached to you.

“That’ll dissolve in two hours.” Spider-Man spoke, making you roll your eyes.

“That’s just great!” You sighed, running your fingers through your hair annoyed.

“Any reason you decided to kidnap me?” You looked at the masked hero, who shifted awkwardly.

“Actually yes.” He sighed, slowly pulling the mask off his head, revealing the last person you ever expected.

Peter?” You whispered, your eyes wide as Peter watched you nervously.

“I-I wanted to tell you Y/N, but my job, it’s just so dangerous, and I couldn’t afford to have anything to happen to you.” Peter rushed out, his hands shaking anxiously.

“Y-You lied to me! You made me feel like the shittiest person ever Peter!” You yelled, making him cringe at your words.

“You made me feel like you hated me.” You whispered the last part out, tears sliding down your cheeks.

“I thought that maybe if I made you hate me, it’d keep you safer.” Peter tried to explain, reaching out to you, but you backed away.

“You don’t get to touch me, you lied to me, you broke me.” You choked out, your body visibly shaking.

“I’m so so sorry Y/N.” Peter apologized, but you just laughed, making his blood turn cold.

“Did Ned know?” You questioned, watching him avoid your gaze, you nodded slowly, running your tongue over your lip, “Wow, so you trusted him, but not me.” You sniffed, anger taking over your emotions.

“I didn’t intend to tell him! He found out by accident!” Peter defended, making your shrug.

“Does it matter? He still knew Peter! Makes sense why he decided to leave me too.” You laughed bitterly, shaking your head at all the information you were receiving.

“Please Y/N, I’m sorry, please forgive me.” Peter pleaded, but you just shook your head.

“No Peter, I’m not going to forgive you, you put me through hell for months, and now you think it’s okay to just apologize and assume every thing will be back to normal.” You looked at him, tears stained on your cheeks as Peter looked at you desperately.

“It’s your turn to feel what I felt.” You looked around, noticing there was no way off the building.

“Get me down from here please.” You sighed, as Peter nodded sadly, wrapping his arm around you for what was probably the last time, as he swung you home.

He set you down on your fire escape, but before you could turn and go inside, he pulled you in for a tight hug.

You didn’t want to, but you slowly hugged him back, deep down you missed the brunette nerd, but at the moment you despised him with a burning passion.

“I will win you back.” He mumbled into your hair, pressing a kiss to your forehead, before swinging off.

It had been weeks since you had last seen Peter, or as you should say “Spider-Man” which wasn’t a bad thing.

He was off doing who knows what, fighting whoever, while you were planning on who to go with for homecoming.

“So how’s project Y/N coming along?” Ned asked, spinning around in Peter’s chair.

“It’s not, it’s more how is she making me feel, and I feel like shit. She told me she was going to make me feel how she felt, and well, it’s working.” Peter groaned, tugging on his hair frustrated.

They both were silent for a moment before Peter’s head snapped up, something was wrong, his Spidey senses were tingling.

“I gotta go, be back soon!” Peter shouted, before going out his window to where he was being directed.

When he arrived to the scene, he was shocked, there was a group of people being held hostage by some random person in a costume.

“Hey, sorry to interrupt this,” He motioned to the hostages, “But you have to let them go.” He added, as the villain laughed.

“And why should I do that?” They fired back, the voice making his eyes widen a bit.

“Because, it’s me you want.” He shot back, his heart beating quicker, as the villain nodded slowly, releasing the hostages.

“Alright fine, have it your way.” The villain shrugged, catching Spider-Man off guard as they hit him in the stomach and face.

Spider-Man groaned, before getting back up, he knew that voice, but how did he know it?

“Who are you?” He asked, as the masked villain laughed, grinning through the mask.

“Your worst nightmare.” They responded, before hitting him again, making him groan in pain.

Then it all clicked, it was you, you were the new villain he had been fighting for the past few weeks, and he just now realized it.

“Karma is a bitch Peter.” You laughed, before disappearing into the darkness, Peter standing there stunned.

He quickly swung home, scaring Ned as Peter flung his mask off, pacing around the room.

“Dude calm down, what happened?” Ned questioned, watching his best friend pace back and forth.

“You know the new villain I was telling you about?” Peter rushed out quickly as Ned nodded in response.

“I just found out who it is.” Peter breathed out, his face flushed as Ned waited anxiously.

“It’s Y/N.”

Ok so a few things from the panel with Janet Varney. This is not in order, I’m writing them as I remember

-She loves the fandom, was really pleasantly surprised at how many people showed up since it was an early panel (10 am).

-talking about Korrasami, one of her favorite things was after they finished recording (and knew about the Korrasami ending) but before the show aired (and therefore the fans didn’t know yet) she was in the audience watching a screening of the part where Korra is narrating the letter to Asami and the audience got really excited and Janet was like “and the fans have spoken!” Janet said that keeping Korrasami a secret was hard.

-her favorite character from ATLA is Zuko

-a member of the audience asked how Janet felt about portraying Korra’s PTSD in the beginning of book 4 and Janet said she wished she could say it was just good acting, but she actually drew inspiration from her own personal experience

- the cast actually did record together a lot as opposed to recording separately and Janet feels like that made it better

-her favorite villains are Amon and Kuvira

- the biggest lesson she thinks Korra learned throughout the show was that she could ask for help, and that it’s ok not to try and do everything alone

-she uses “be the leaf” as her own personal motivation at times

-she would love for Asami to be the president and fix stuff

And finally she still has a huge crush on Asami XD

Alright people, let’s get something straight:

Now, I’ve both made and reblogged posts of this nature before, but earlier today I was scrolling through the ‘Recent’ tab of my Billdip search, yknow, just checking out what’s new in one of my favorite ships, and I kept coming across anti-ship posts and people complaining about incest and pedophilia and all that shit.
*Inhales* Now there are just a FEW things I’d like to add to the ‘arguments’ these posts and bloggers were making:

  1. “It’s supporting pedophilia/incest!”
Actually no, it isn’t. Unless the author of the said ‘fan-work’ themselves DIRECTLY STATED that pedophilia or incest was fun/good, it is highly unlikely that they support it. Depicting something in a creative medium does not mean in any way that you condone it; for example, just because I joke about killing myself after a bad fanfic or maiming one of the characters in said badfic DOES NOT mean that I would do it in real life, or encourage others to do it in real life. I’ve said this line in my previous post, but I’ll say it again: LIKING FICTIONAL CHARACTERS IN A FICTIONAL RELATIONSHIP HAS ABOUT AS MUCH IMPACT ON SOMEONE’S PERSONAL/POLITICAL/RELIGIOUS VIEWS AS SOMEONE ELSE COMPLAINING ABOUT IT DOES ON THE REAL WORLD.

  2. “It doesn’t matter if it’s fiction, it can still be used to groom kids into thinking that pedophilia/incest is okay or erotic.”
Believe it or not, I agree with this one. BUT, it still doesn’t change the fact that it’s not OUR JOB to teach naive children what is right or wrong in the world. IT’S A PARENT OR GUARDIAN’S. If a child is young or impressionable enough to think that just because there are pictures and other such media depicting pedophilia/incest it means it’s okay, then they SHOULDN’T BE ON THE INTERNET. Or their parent/guardian should monitor their child’s activity more closely. Moreover, if a child IS naive enough to think such things, then it’s not fucking Fandoms and Tumblr and Fanfiction I’m worried about, I’d be more worried about them stumbling across an ACTUAL PEDOPHILIA OR INCEST FETISH SITE! What then, people? You gonna make accounts on those forums and bitch about morality there? Good luck.

  3. “Well, I dislike it and think it’s disgusting, and I have a right to post my opinion about it on someone else’s blog.”
Yeah, yes, absolutely, you DO have a right to an opinion! Do you have a right to whine on someone’s blog other than yours, though? NO. Do you really think that you posting a comment in the tags about how disgusting someone or something is will really change anything? It won’t. Now it’s one thing if someone said ‘I don’t support this, I personally think it’s awful, but you’re your own person and are allowed to like whatever you want.’ But even then, I STILL don’t understand why you’d say that on someone’s post. You don’t know this person, that person doesn’t know you, you clearly just implied that you want nothing to do with them or their interests, why the hell can’t you just blacklist their blog and be on your merry way? Know why ladies and gents? Because people are insecure and they need to wave their ‘opinions’ everywhere and at everything until they get recognized. If it’s not constructive criticism and is just someone who’s ‘politely’ stating that they dislike a piece of media and nothing else, they’re not worth your time.

  4. “But it’s encouraging real life pedophilia/incest.”
*sighs* Yknow, it sucks that I’m the one who has to come out and shatter the Tumblr illusion by saying this, but halting media depictions of something dark or taboo won’t stop horrible things from happening. People, real-life pedophiles are laughing and real-life survivors are scoffing at you for thinking that censoring or filtering TUMBLR media will change ANYTHING. That’s like saying if we cease mass production and marketing of weapons, then worldwide WAR will stop! It’s stupid to think like that. Sadly it doesn’t fucking matter what people do or don’t ship, or write, or draw about, there will always be bad people in the world, and I can assure you that attempting to police stupid fandoms will not change that fact. You want to help fix the world? Go DONATE or VOLUNTEER instead of spending your time whining about what someone is doing with their blog.

  5. “If you ship <Ship Name>, then ur disgusting.”
That’s close enough to a direct quote I saw from a post, and honestly, I can’t find much merit from someone who can’t even spell ‘YOU’RE’ correctly. And neither should any other sensible person.

And that’s pretty much all I wanted to say. Sorry for the long post, but Black Cat is known for her rants lol. Don’t let anyone tell you what you can and can’t do with your time, and don’t tell anyone that they’re a bad person because they ship this or that.

Like seriously people, it’s just stupid pairings n’ shit.

jack discovers bandom and sort of regrets it...

A sequel-ette to Blue-Eyed Jack. Jack just wants confirmation the song is about him. He doesn’t mean to fall down this particular rabbit hole.

When Bitty & the Biscuits came out with their new single, Jack was one of the first to know.

He wasn’t obsessed with the band, per se, just…enthusiastic. Jack loved country and folk music, grew up listening to his mom’s Johnny Cash and Emmylou Harris albums. His first concert had been Charlie Daniels. His first crush had been Natalie Maines. And a year ago, when he’d stumbled across this little band with a Canadian guitarist and a ridiculously cute lead singer who was openly gay–well, Jack had been sold on the spot.

The Beat Goes (On and On) by dansunedisco

Stiles takes a sip of his beer and scans the crowd. It’s wild tonight, but that’s nothing new for Alpha Delt. Jackson’s on DJ duty, which explains the shitty dubstep blasting through the speakers. Writhing, drunk bodies are packed in every corner, and the scent of weed hangs heavy in the stale air. He takes a sniff and sighs, disappointed. He was offered to take a hit off one of the many blunts making the rounds tonight, but he declined. All because Derek likes him to be (mostly) sober when they fuck, doesn’t like to mess around with consent on either end.

Not that Derek’s shown any interest in him tonight. Whatever.

The thing about Stiles, though, is that for him, turned on and angry are not mutually exclusive feelings. He may be painfully hard but that doesn’t mean he’s not also ready to strangle Derek for having the audacity to act like this is something that’s happening to him, not something that is almost entirely his fault. So when Derek let’s out what must be his hundredth long-suffering sigh, Stiles snaps.
