“what did you say then?”
magnus was sure he had been saying something important a moment ago, but when he blinked he realized that alec was looking at him, expectantly and he couldn’t remember for the life of him what he had even been saying. something about work, something about a client, something about a summoning maybe, but he couldn’t recall.
because somewhere in between speaking and alec’s fingertips idly dragging their way down magnus’s arm, magnus had lost his train of thought. those fingers travelled over his shirt, down to the sensitive crook of his elbow and then lower, tracing the veins of his forearm. the soft slow motion of those fingers moving, the grounding feeling of that touch left magnus somewhere between reality and some kind of dream space as he just stared at alec for a moment.
alec was looking at him, focused and expectant, wanting to hear more, wanting to know more, so god damn open. magnus felt it, like a wave in his chest, all of those feelings surging up in the center of his rips, watching this man look at him with such open honesty.
the lights were low and the room was dark, and alec didn’t seem to realize what was happening until magnus caught his mouth. he didn’t realize, but he made the prettiest noise and magnus hummed as alec melted underneath him, underneath his palms and his mouth.
the story would get finished later, but for now, magnus preferred the silent kind of stories of their lips.
