God she’s so beautiful.
That’s all he can think about as he watches his girlfriend stare out the window of his tour bus.
She’s been on tour with him for a few weeks now, and he loves it. Loves having her with him to discover new places. Her by his side before he goes on stage. Her holding his hand as they walk from place to place. Her cuddling into him when he passes out after a show. Just loves her.
“It’s starting to snow.” She says looking over her shoulder at him.
He swears his heart stops every time she looks at him. There is no other way to put it other than that she’s the most beautiful thing in the world.
“Is it?” He asks, swallowing the lump in his throat. He gets up from his seat by the little cramped kitchenette to join her on the couch by the window.
“I love when it snows.” She sighs looking back out the window, leaning into him as she sits beside her, arm over her shoulders.
“Me too, reminds me of home.” He says softly, burning lips pressing against the top of her head.
“Ever since I was little,” She starts off confident but then dies off realizing that she is about to share something personal. Shawn notices, always notices. So he gives her shoulder a little squeeze of encouragement to continue. “When it would snow I would pretend it was a re do for our world.”
“How?” He says really wanting her to keep going, loves it when he can find out new things about her.
“It’s like a fresh new layer you know. Everything is pristine and white, calm and cool. It’s like a start over for a brief second. Like the new life to the game you just died in.”
“And when it melts away?”
“It’s the safe idea that your home is now back to normal. You know when it’s been snowing for days and the snow just stays and it’s become a nuisance. When you want to go do something but can’t because it’s snowing. When it all starts to melt away it’s that little silver of new returning to the reassuring of your normal.”
“I love you.” He breathes out with a small smile of his rosy lips.
“I love you too.” She rests her head in the crook of his neck. He reaches over and plays with her fingers.
“So the snow is supposedly sticking and they want us to stop for the night so we don’t get stuck somewhere.” Geoff says interrupting the couples calm moment of silence.
“Okay.” Shawn nods, not taking his eyes off the outside world beyond the window. “Where are we stopping at?”
“Some Walmart parking lot, they said we could park in the back, in a locked loading truck section.”
“Cool.” Shawn said smirking at an idea forming in his head.
“Think I’m gonna take a shower.” She says standing up from her comfortable spot against Shawn.
“I love you.” He whispers looking up at her. She smiles, a slight blush on her cheeks.
“I love you too.” She whispers back, leaning down to kiss him quickly.
When she’s out of earshot Shawn turns to Geoff.
“I need you to do me a favor.”
“Shawn?” She calls out from the back area where the bunks and bathroom was.
“Mmm?” He asks from the front.
“What did you do with my pajamas?” She walks out in just a towel wrapped around her curvy body. His eyes go wide at the sight of her.
“Hey.” He says standing up quickly to shield her from the rest of the guys on the bus. “Can you please go back there?” He asks, hands on her hips.
“What did you- What are you wearing?” She asks looking him up and down.
“Just go change into the clothes I put back there, you are gonna love this I promise.” He says pushing her back to the secluded area.
“I like touring with girls.” Brian smirks as Shawn returns to the guys. He hits the back of Brian’s head.
“Shut the fuck up, I’ll kick your ass if you say anything like that again.”
“What? She’s the one-”
“Shut up!” Shawn hits Brian again.
When she emerges minutes later he can’t help but notice how cute she is. She’s all bundled up in the gray snow jacket with matching pants, purple snow boots and a purple beanie.
“Can you tell me why were dressed like this?” She asks, small smile on her face hoping he was gonna say that they were playing in the snow.
“Let’s go see how pretty your snow angel is.” He smirks taking her hand and pulling her out of the bus.
The guys are already out there, in the middle of a snow ball fight. They get split up between the teams and Shawn shoots all the guys glares as a warning to not hit her too hard.
Brian tosses a snow ball in her direction and it hits her in the arm.
“Ow!” She says turning to look at Brian. “It’s called a snowball Bri not a fucking iceball.” She remarks packing a snowball in her hand.
Shawn knows that he could step in, be her defendant. But she’s the one that’s played softball most of her life, so her throw and aim is gonna be a helluva lot better than his.
He watches with a smile as she winds her arm and chucks the snowball at Brian, it whizzing in the air and collides with Brian’s chest. He stumbles backwards, rubbing the area she just hit.
“Don’t fuck with me Brian, you don’t know what you are starting.” She warns him. Brian nods as all the guys snicker.
“That’s my girl.” Shawn says as he kisses her freezing cheek, causing it to warm up.
They decide to make the snowball fight into a game, if you’re hit then your out. In the end it’s just her against him.
“I’m not giving in Babe.” Shawn smirks.
“I know, I’m not either.” She shrugs smiling.
They both have a snowball in their hands and are both trying to figure out a way to get the other.
“Are we about to witness a break up?” Geoff asks, watching along with everyone else.
“Shh.” They both hush him.
“Well shit, you would think they spent every second with each other.” He puts his hands up, like he’s surrendering.
Shawn decides to just go for it, just throw and see if he can get her. She’s thinking about how to trick him, he knows it. This will catch her off guard.
He winds up and throws when she looks at the ball in her hand, when she looks up the snowball hits her.
Right in the nose.
She stumbles backwards, rubbing her face.
“Shit, Babe!” Shawn scrambles, slipping on the snow, as he rushes to her side. “Are you okay? I swear I didn’t mean to hit you in the face.” He’s cupping her cheeks, inspecting her nose.
“I’m fine.” She smiles at his worried face.
“I’m so sorry Baby.” He kisses the tip of her nose, holding her close.
“It’s okay.” She tells him, looking into his eyes to let him know she means it. “I wouldn’t mind a kiss on my lips though.” She grins. He smirks and leans down and kisses her.
When he pulls away he just stares at her for a second. He starts to look back when he giggles at her own idea.
“Oh and Shawn.” She starts, he looks back waiting for her to say something. All she does is pull the collar of his jacket towards her and drops her snowball down his shirt.
“Ahh, shit that’s cold. Ah ah ah.” He whines as she giggles at him. “You are so going to pay for that.” He gives her an evil glare.
“No, Shawn!” She yells, running away from him. He starts chasing her, loving the amount of giggling she’s doing. It’s music to his ears. His favorite song he wants to listen to all day every day.
“No, go away.” She protests.
He reaches out and takes hold of her hips, pulling her down with him. She screams as she lands on top of him.
They are both breathing hard and smiling wide at each other.
“That was mean.” He pouts.
“Sorry.” She shrugs. She rolls over and starts making a snow angel.
She stops moving her limbs, just lays in the snow looking up at the dark sky.
Shawn looks over at her, falling in love with the way she looks with snowflakes in her hair. With a red nose, and rosy cheeks. He rolls over, bracing his weight on his arms, but hovers over her.
“You are so beautiful.” He says lowly. She rolls her pretty eyes and shakes her head. He leans down and kisses her quickly.
“I can’t feel my toes.” She says when he pulls away. This causes him to chuckle and he kisses her again before getting up and pulling her up with him.
“Let’s get you inside My Snow Angel, don’t want you to get too cold.” He wraps his arms around her, hugging her from behind as they walk back to the bus.
Their both warm now.
He took a hot shower, since he was covered in snow from her putting it down his shirt.
She changed into fuzzy Christmas pants and fuzzy socks. She’s drowning in his green Crossfit hoodie.
Her head is in his lap, she’s curled into a blanket as they watch Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.
He’s holding a hot cup of tea with his left hand, while his right hand plays with a few strands of her soft hair.
All the rest of the guys are sitting around, either watching the movie or on their phones ignoring the couple.
“How are your toes, can you feel them yet?”
“I can feel them but their still cold.” She whines. He sets his cup down on the table beside him and leans over her, wrapping her feet in her blanket. He rubs the blanket quickly to create some heat.
“Better.” She smiles up at him.
The movie continues to play.
“She said I’m cute!!” The TV plays, causing a few laughs to sound around the bus.
She turns in his lap, catching his attention. He looks down and smiles when she blinks slowly looking up at him.
“What’s up?” He asks softly, caressing the sides of her face.
“I think your cute.” She smiles at him. Shawn looks up at Geoff who happens to be recording the young couple.
“She said I’m cute!” Shawn imitates Rudolph, causing her to giggle. He leans down and connects there lips in a sweet kiss.
“That was disgustingly cute.” Geoff says, posting the video on his insta live.
“That’s us.” Shawn says proudly staring at his girlfriend as she hides her blushing face into his stomach.
The night goes on and she falls asleep turned towards him. He runs his fingers through her hair and wipes a fallen eyelash off her cheek, making her eyes flutter.
He just sits there staring at her, memorizing every feature on her face. The small dimple on her cheek, freckles on her nose, a small cut on her nose. He traces the cut and notices that it’s new, a recent cut.
“I’ve never seen you so lovesick.” Geoff says softly, snapping Shawn of his thoughts.
“She’s real easy to love.” He grins. She’s still awake, he doesn’t know it, but she bites back her smile and listens to this conversation.
“How long have you guys been together now?”
“Almost four years.” He smiles, going back to playing with her hair.
“Think she’s the one?”
“Know she’s the one.” Shawn nods looking back up at Geoff.
“Shit man I’ve known she’s the one since the first time I woke up next to her.” He shakes his head at the memory. “She had spent the night. She fell asleep watching a movie and I didn’t let her drive home because of how tired she was. Anyway, she spent the night and when I woke up the next morning holding her.” He pauses, reliving the memory. “I knew right then and there that I wanted to wake up to her in my arms for the rest of life because my life can’t get any better. She’s honestly the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
“Wow, look at Shawnie all grown up.” Andrew joins the conversation.
“She makes me want to be better, she makes me want to give her everything in the world. And I’m gonna do whatever I can to give it to her.”
She clutches his shirt a little more, trying so hard not to cry from happiness. He looks down a little worried and runs his thumb over the crease in her forehead, rubbing it away.
It’s late and everyone has gone to bed. Shawn picks her up and takes her back to their shared bunk. He sets in her in the bunk and crawls in after her. He closes the curtain and pulls the blanket up and over both their bodies.
“Hey.” She whispers as he wraps his arms around her.
“Hey.” He smiles kissing her.
“I love you too.” She kisses him quickly.
“What?” He asks.
“I heard you, out there with Geoff and Andrew.”
“Oh.” He looks away, cheeks flushing in embarrassment.
“The first time I realized that you were the one was that night when I came home from work super stressed out.” She starts, drawing hearts onto his chest. He stares at her with wide eyes. “You had just gotten home from tour and you were at your parents house. I had texted and said something about having a shit day at work. I hadn’t heard back so I figured you were busy and would get back to me when you could. But that was when I got home and walked through the door and you and Aaliyah were standing in my kitchen bickering over what kind of potatoes to have for dinner.” She smiles.
“That was the first time?”
“Yeah, because you dropped your family time to come to my place and make sure I had a proper meal and had someone to vent to about my day.”
“I just wanted to make sure you were okay.”
“That was when I knew. That you would drop everything to make sure I was okay.”
“We had mashed potatoes because that was what you and Aaliyah wanted.” He smirked. “I wanted baked.”
“But the girls win.”
“My girls always win.” He grins, pecking your lips.
“Unless it’s a snowball fight.”
“Is that what this cut is from? Did I do that?” He asks, guilt dripping from his voice.
“But I cut you.”
“You didn’t mean to, honestly it could have happened to anyone. We were playing around.”
“Stop saying that. I promise I’m okay. I wouldn’t have wanted that to end any other way.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
“I only like that nickname when it’s rolling off of your tongue.”
She wakes the next morning to an empty bunk. She rolls over to his cold side and sighs, hoping he would be there to cuddle. She climbs out of the bunk, slipping her glasses on and throwing her hair into a messy bun.
“Good Morning.” Geoff says when she meets him in the kitchenette.
She turns to grab a coffee cup but stops when she sees a beautiful bouquet of red roses sitting on the counter.
“Geoff, what is this?”
“Why don’t you read the card.” Geoff shrugs with a small smirk on his face.
She hesitantly grabs the card, opening it and smirking at his handwriting.
Good Morning Love,
Last night was too perfect, and I wanted
that to carry over to this morning.
I hope this makes the cut.
I’m sorry, and I love you,
To the moon ….
She smiles and holds the card to her chest.
“What did it say?” Geoff asks excitedly
“None of your business.”
“That’s so rude, I have been waiting since he set the flowers down to know what he said.”
“Get yourself your own Shawn.”
Geoff rolls his eyes and stalks off to the front to sit down and mess with a few chords.
iMessage to Shawnie<3: And back! I love you so much, and I told you to stop saying sorry.
iMessage from Shawnie<3: Good Morning Love
iMessage to Shawnie<3: Good Morning Handsome
iMessage from Shawnie<3: Did you like your flowers?
iMessage to Shawnie<3: Love them, I don’t deserve you.
iMessage from Shawnie<3: No, I don’t deserve you. I’ll be back soon, be ready for a lunch date.
iMessage to Shawnie<3: Maybe you should take Geoff, he’s jealous I got flowers.
iMessage from Shawnie<3: I’ll get him flowers…
She laughs as she watches Shawn walk in with a single rose. He walks right passed her seated position on the couch and hands the rose to Geoff.
“Don’t be jealous anymore, I got you a flower too.”
Geoff laughs and looks over at her.
“What does your card say?” She giggles as Geoff reads the note attached to the stem.
“Awe Shawn that is too sweet.” Geoff says looking at Shawn.
“Shut up.” Shawn chuckles as he sits next to her, kissing her cheek.
“What did the card say?” She asks Shawn.
Geoff hands her the card and she nervously glances but laughs.
You’re a dumbass
She bursts into a laughter fit.
“I wish my card was that sweet.”
“Hush.” Shawn says cutting her off by placing a kiss on her lips.
“I love you.” She smiles as he pulls away.
“To the moon and back.” Is his response.
