a dark time indeed

“If you still, even if it’s just a little, have some fire left in you, then don’t give up. Keep swinging. Recklessly for as long as you can. Don’t just do things for the team. Do things for yourselves.

This season of Gotham has had so much Ed x Oswald and I honestly didn't even think of that ship very much earlier, but lately I've been so into it I'd love it if they got together and became the power couple of Gotham can you imagine

I tell you what, it’s been a wild ride for some of us. Season one for the Nygmobblepot shipper was all about AU’s, parallels, speculation and wishful thinking. They were dark times indeed.

THEN of course we finally got all we’d ever dreamed of with the fanfic-come-to-life AKA S02E09; Ed brings Oswald a Leonard and they indulge in some casual knifeplay and then they’re SUPERCOOLMURDERBOYFRIENDS.

Then of course there’s the lillies, the Arkham visit, the world’s gayest taxi service and now…

Harry Potter is amazing.

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.” -Albus Dumbledore

I ran across this quote the other day, and it got me thinking. Dumbledore had a deluminator, a device with which to turn light sources on or off. This device was left to Ron Weasley in his will. Dumbledore knew that darkness lay in all their futures. They were dark times indeed when Ron abandoned Harry and Hermione. But eventually, Ron found his way back. And they all were happy at his return. How did he do it? How did he turn enmity and discord into friendship and happiness once more?
And then I realized,

it was simply because Ron remembered, in the darkest moment of his life,

to turn on the light.

‘Seven days,’ said Faramir. 'But think not ill of me, if I say to you: they have brought me both a joy and a pain that I never thought to know. Joy to see you; but pain, because now the fear and doubt of this evil time are grown dark indeed. Eowyn, I would not have this world end now, or lose so soon what I have found.’
