a book we all need

“Am I at ninety-four yet?”

Neil asked.

He was not at ninety-four. Ninety-four was the whispered words, “Thank you. You were amazing.” They echoed inside Andrew’s head over and over, like they were an offering, a prayer, a goodbye, like they were pushed out of his body with his dying breath. It was irritating and he was going to bring it up on the bus. He was going to spell it out nice and slow how Neil needed to stop living like he was dying and start living like the exy junkie he was.

Ninety-five was turning around and seeing nothing. Not nothing in the sense that Neil was nothing, but nothing in the sense of panic, of worry, of standing on the edge of the rooftop looking down thinking “Would it hurt if I fell?” The space where Neil should have been filled with emotions that Andrew swore he would never feel again.

Ninety-six was finding his bag. It wasn’t the bag that held his entire life, that was locked away in the Fox Tower, safe. It was the bag that held his future. A future he knew Neil wanted in the way he clutched the key he gave him back in August. A key that was left in the God forsaken bag with Neil nowhere in sight.

For ninety-seven, Kevin was there. The other foxes were there too but the words Kevin formed with his breath passing over his voice box and the movements of his tongue and jaw, were the only things that mattered. Kevin’s mouth moved, sound traveled in vibrations through the air, hit Andrew’s eardrums, and then his hands were around Kevin’s neck. There were lies and half-truths and Andrew hated those. Again not in the sense he hated Neil but in the sense that he hated the word ‘please’ and ‘misunderstanding’. He hated how he didn’t hate Neil because of all the lies. And for that, ninety-seven.

Ninety-eight was the phone call that Neil had been found.

Ninety-nine was walking through the hotel door and seeing him crumple in agony. It was the hissed “Don’t” as he did his best sooth away the pain. It was the eyes that were Nathaniel’s with hints of Neil peeking out behind his irises. It was the look of a man staring helplessly as the executioner readied the guillotine. It was the words “I’m sorry” like he had something to be sorry for. It was his attitude that no matter how beat up he got, remained impeccably intact. And it was the question he still had the gall to ask: “Am I at ninety-four yet?”

“You are at one hundred.”

Imo, one of the best things about Rainbow’s books is that they are so easy to read because she writes so conversationally. I feel like I know Simon and Baz, I feel like they know me back. They are comfortable dropping the f-bomb and talking about wanking off (um..Baz..why…) to me and it’s amazing because I really do feel like I’m with them. I really do feel like a creepy third wheeler all the damn time and it’s awesome. I love being the Snowbaz third wheeler

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

I’m done with this god damn hate spreading through the fandom about how they handled the Malec sex scene. YES THEY COULDVE HANDLED IT BETTER AND YES THEY COULDVE WRITTEN IT DIFFERENTLY BUT THEYRE NOW GETTING INTO THE HEART OF THE STORY. They can’t fit everything in 40 minutes guys please understand that. This fandom is literally stooping to the level of the book!fandom and it’s starting to not only piss me off but really start to upset me. There’s literally nothing we can do to change the first half of season 2 but guess what? THEYRE SHOOTING 2B RIGHT NOW AND THAT MEANS THEY CAN STILL CHANGE SHIT. Voice your concerns to them now and make sure they do it better and not fuck up. For the love of God please just…..STOP SPREADING HATE. I REFUSE to see something as pure as this fandom be infected and poisoned like the damn book fandom is. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. Voice your concerns but STOP THE DAMN HATE. Not only are we making fellow fans uncomfortable but we’re making the writers and directors feel like shit but have you stopped to think about how Matt and Harry are feeling about this? They work so damn hard to give Malec the representation they deserve and they work long and hard to not turn this fandom into the book!fandom. We all need to learn to respect that and voice our concerns civilly and not harshly. Let them know to change that in 2B. We can’t change 2A. Accept it. Now for the Izzy being addicted to Yin Fin thing? Just because she’s played by a Latina actress doesn’t mean it’s racist. If she was played by a white actress or a black actress or an Arabian or Asian one, the story still would’ve been the same thing. She would still be addicted to Yin Fin. This season is all about character development (THAT MEANS BOTH GOOD AND BAD) and that’s what they’ve been doing. Developing the characters. Clary and Jace are learning to love each other as siblings and move on. Clary is making split second decisions that usually fuck things up. Jace is being a douche because he’s been forced out of the institute and the field. Alec killed Clary’s mom and obviously is not handling it well considering he almost killed himself because of it. Izzy is going down a dark path BECAUSE OF ALDERTREE TRYING TO TEAR THE NY INSTITUTE APART FROM THE INSIDE. Simon grew a back bone and confessed to Clary while at the same time trying to move on and being called out for it by Maia. Magnus is obviously growing to care about the Shadowhunter group and his relationship with Alec is growing beautifully in the midst of this chaos and we’re getting bits and pieces of his back story which is amazing. He’s growing to trust the main cast which isn’t something easy for him to do so he’s opening himself up, and it’s wonderful. Luke is still mourning Jocelyn and that’s perfectly fine she was the love of his life, but he’s not gonna let Clary of anyone push him aside and walk over him like a doormat. Guys this is literally a season about changing the characters whether those changes are good or bad. That’s how character development works. That’s how it’s always worked. It can’t all be sunshine and rainbows and happiness. And Alec punching Raphael? We all know Alec is an impulsive person that’s been proven more times in both seasons especially season one. Isabelle and Magnus probably weren’t able to explain the whole situation before Alec immediately went after Raphael. I’m not saying Alec punching him was OK and I’m not trying to defend him but we all know that Alec is an impulsive person, so before you start to go bitch and complain about how he’s handling it just think for a second on how you would handle hearing your baby sister is addicted to drugs and went to a local source someone that’s in the same room with you to help with it. I would be pissed too and I would probably punch him as well. Because Raphael willingly bit Isabelle that first time in the alleyway. That second time? That wasn’t OK because Isabelle literally forced Raphael to bite her because she didn’t have access to Yin Fin and she was desperate so she went to desperate measures. It wasn’t right and she should feel bad and I hope she does because that wasn’t OK that was the drugs clouding her moral compass. I know we aren’t happy about some of the writing and editing mistakes this season but you have to remember that it’s only the first half of season two it’s already been written and it’s already been approved and aired and we can’t change it. We need to stop thinking we can, they are writing and shooting the second half of the season right now and things can still be changed so go let them know to not fuck up this time. So how about we all stop bitching and complaining about how the editing team could’ve done better or how the writers need to get their shit together and how 2A would be better if they did this thing one way and that thing the other and tell them to do better in 2B. Re-blog and spread this around the fandom please. Because even if I have to hold this whole damn fandom up by myself at the foundations so it doesn’t crumble I will gladly do it. I will not let this fandom crumble and become as toxic as the book fandom is. I will not give that satisfaction to Cassandra Claire. And if you really care about this fandom as much as I do you will re-blog and spread this around. I know this is a long post but this needed to be said. This will not be a toxic fandom I refuse to let it become such.

Books were spread all over your table, you furrowed your brows and scribbled something onto a paper, after looking  up to your boyfriend Brett who wasn’t following anymore.

“Did you get it?” You asked worried while you handed him the paper.

“Y/n can I have a break pleaseee.” His fingers massaging his temples after giving you a tired look.

“No, if your not passing the test tomorrow, you’re not allowed to play in any upcoming lacrosse games, because your grades aren’t that good babe.”

“I know but who needs all of this, I mean that’s stupid I barely remember what I ate yesterday. So how should I remember all of this?”

“Also we have to get this project done till thursday, so there’s a lot of work to do, but we will get through this.”
You ensured him with a smile and pecked his cheek. A smug smirk was resting on his face while his eyes studied your face. In order for you to feel his figure standing behind you.

“You should really focus on the work, instead of me.”

Brett hummed in respond after gently placing on of his hands onto your shoulder, while the other one  helped him to move your hair to the side. Giving him perfect access to your bare neck, the goosebumps already started to rise because of his touch. Although you didn’t want him to distract you, it felt good..

“Are you sure that we don’t deserve a break?” He whispered, letting his breath slightly tickle your ears. Your sighed in respond, turned around and pushed the chair to the side, so that you were facing him now. Brett scanned your figure and waited for your next move, his eyes followed one of your hands while you placed it behind his neck. His skin was already burning.

"I know what you are trying to do here..“ You mumbled, while the cheeky smirk on his face never faded.  ”… and it’s not going to work, I guarantee you.“

“Well…” He replied as he leaned in closer, so that your lips almost touched. “…we will see.”

Brett’s eyes were filled with lust, it indeed did take  all of his strength to not already rip all of your clothes off, but you couldn’t resist him and he was fully aware of that.
So you shoved him playfully away and stripped of your shirt, leaving yourself only in your bra, Brett watched you observantly, with a sinful smile on his face, as he softly bit onto his bottom lip, imagining the things he would like to do to you. His hands reached out for you and pressed your bodys back together. Igniting the heat between you two. Suprised by his actions a small screech escaped from your lips. Your heart started to race more than ever and one thing was for sure; in that moment you knew, that he had won the control over you.

“I told you it’s not going to work.” Brett stated proudly, his fingers brushed along your waist, down to your butt, you inhaled sharply as he gave you gently squeeze. Your body was burning and you felt how the adrenaline was rushing through your blood. There was nothing in that moment that you craved more than him…

His nose brushed along your neck as he inhaled your scent, your arousal was driving him insane.

You couldn’t wait any longer and hiked up his shirt and got rid of it in seconds, revealing his toned upper body.
“Are we a little bit rough today?” He asked and placed a kiss onto your forhead.

You laughed and gave im a tender kiss, your hands found themselves on his inner thigh as you felt how his muscles tensed for a second. You carefully rubbed him through his pants as his mouth slightly parted. Aplying pressure on the parts, where he needed you the most.

“Don’t understimate me, Talbot.”

His lips fomed into a curve after he started to place sloppy kisses on your chest, while you gently got a hold of his soft hair. Trying to enjoy the pleasure that was already building up inside of you. His fingers now touching at parts where you wanted to feel him the most, Brett decided that it was enough when he got a hold of your legs, gripping them tightly as you wrapped them around his waist. The feeling of your skin touching was making you crazy, you pressed yourself against him and felt how the bulge was forming up beneath his pants. Your noses slightly brushed as you leaned in for the kiss, gently tugging on his lips with your teeth, sending sparkles down your whole body. Brett moved you back to the table and used one of his hands to shove the the books and papers away, spreading your work all over the floor.

“We don’t need this anymore.” Brett muttered and gave you a wink.
A chuckle left your mouth after he sat you down on the on the brown table, normally you would protest that he threw all of your stuff down but in this moment you couldn’t care less. He placed himself between your legs, shoving your hips together with his errection lightly pressing against your inner thigh. You felt almost intoxicated, your heart pounding more with every touch he made. So you quickly unclasped your bra, as he cupped your red cheeks with his hands, trying to stop his desire for you by crashing your lips together. By getting more rough with every kiss.

“You are so perfect.” He stated after easily helping you out of your jeans, throwing them across the room.

“Good thing, that my parents aren’t around.” You breathed out as your hands wandered to his pants, after unbuckling his belt and getting rid of them finally.
He smiled and took his time to place kisses on every part of your burning skin, maybe more time that you wanted him to take.

“You’re on birth control right?”

You nodded as he leaned down, pressing your forheads together. Brett looked into your eyes with a smile, making sure that you were comfortable. You took a deep breath, the room was filled with a mixture of sweat and lust.

It was driving you insane.

He gave you a ensuring look and waited for your permission, you smiled after he gently entered you with his length, your body was quivering in respond while the pleasure was again building up inside of you. You moved your a little bit, trying to adjust the size that was now inside of you. He started with slow thrust, as moans escaped from both of your mouths. He placed a few kisses on your neck, sucking slighty on the thin skin until it turned purple.
“God damn Y/n.”

Him moaning your name sounded so  holy in your ears, your bodys drowned in ecstasy as he increased his pace. You got a hold of his shoulders, kissing him between any other thrust. He used one of his hands to apply some pressure on to your chore, making you almost losing it. Everything felt so good, every kiss, every touch was so passionate. In that moment it felt like the time only slowed down for you two. Brett exhaled heavily and made sure to leave more hickeys on every part of your body to show everyone that you were his and so did you. Your fingers got lost in his hair, caused by the knot that was growing in your abdomen. He moved faster causing both of you to almost lose it, the table was shaking, it indeed would break in a matter of time if you kept going like this. He dipped his hips deeper as you two leaned in for a last kiss, knowing that you both were very close. It felt like the world stopped spinning as you reached your climax, igniting the lust inside of you, the room was filled with moans and cursing, as waves of pleasure hit your bodys.

The blood buzzed in your ears as you felt Brett’s exhausted body on top of yours, he breathed heavily but looked very satisfied. After a while you started to get up and threw his boxers at him, which he caught perfectly. Brett’s lips formend into a curve while he looked at you.

“Well I must admit studying isn’t that bad at all.”

“Funny Brett, our project is spread all over the floor now.” You muttered and rolled your eyes at him.

“Yeah I mean now we have a prove that it’s not gravity safe.”

“Who taught you that?”
Your brows furrowed in confusion by the pointlessness of his sentence or more by his stupid but adorable attend to justify his behaviour.

“My beautiful girlfriend.”
You couldn’t help but laugh at his answer after he connected your lips with a kiss again.

Masterlist

People will make you promises they cannot keep. And they will cut you at the knees to protect what is theirs. They will make you think you are less than you are. Lie. Cheat. Steal. People will wreck you. But people will also hold you. And they will press your sojourning soul back into your body when you forget how to hold it close. They will laugh so hard their ribs nearly tear at the seams, cross oceans to hold their favorite person in their arms, and ring a bell to let you know they have arrived at your home. Because people are cruel and beautiful and breathing and although they are not perfect, they are all we will ever need.
