You know I love my champagne and when I’m feeling especially elegant, it’s gotta be a blanc de blancs (100% Chardonnay). This, my friends, is a fabulous wine. Fresh nose of lemon, ginger, white florals with stems, jasmine, golden apple flesh, chalk, and the inside of a baguette (not the crust). Very tight, tiny bubbles. Very bright on the palate with lemon, hints of brioche, baked dessert pears, and touches of ginger and jasmine. This is a baby Cristal (in fact, it’s the same champagne house!) but comparatively, the price on wine of this quality makes this a steal. A vintage blanc de blancs at this price is stunning - I might even go so far as to recommend this over Cristal! Cheers!

Game of Thrones/Avatar mashup! How would it look if GoT’s story happened in an ATLA/LoK universe? This is Tyrion Lannister, the Airbender. No, I’m not saying that the Lannisters would be Airbenders… but Tyrion? Why not?! Wise, averse to violence, and can bend his way out of tough situations? Tyrion would be a great Airbender. He’s not quitting drinking though, Airbender tradition be damned. I referred heavily to Avatar art books for style.
This is the last one in this series (for now), since I got all 4 main elements/nations.
Today on my lunch break I boiled down about 12 cups of fresh picked rosa rugosa petals to make wine. I won’t have time this weekend to actually make the wine so I thought I would boil down the petals before they went bad (they store in the refrigerator quite well, though) and start the wine next week.
Get a load of that pink. Once they’ve cooked the water is left with all that color, and that fresh picked flower smell.
