tbh sometimes I wonder exactly how much Welcome to Night Vale had an influence on our sort of weird casual surrealist humor (cryptids, cursed images, “self care is drinking six redbulls behind a 7-Eleven and fist fighting god”, dark kmart, etc.)
If you could press a button that would give you a great deal of money, but it would cause someone you don’t know in a distant part of the world to die, then you would have a good model for how our current economy works.
Cecil Palmer, Welcome to Night Vale episode 105: “What Happened at the Smithwick House”
What if the glow cloud (all hail) drops dead animals bc it thinks we’re terrible hunters who can’t catch food, like how cats bring their humans dead mice
What if the glow cloud (all hail) is just some form of weird cat
Do y'all ever listen to WTNV and mouth certain phrases along with Cecil, like not just the obvious ones like “Goodnight, Night Vale, goodnight” and “And now, the weather” but also “you know, the farmer” and “Desert Flower Bowling Alley and Arcade Fun Complex” and “literally a five-headed dragon”
