Timestamp meme - I would like something three hours after the worse things happen at sea prompt, please (it deserves so much more love)

“Red sky at night, sailor’s delight,” Etta murmurs into Kate’s shoulder.
Kate startles upright. She’d thought Etta was asleep. She’d been halfway to it, herself. “Hm?”
“Look.” Etta lifts her head just enough to nod to the window. It’s not a light giving that reddish haze to the clouds, really. It’s the faintest hint. Underneath it, the sea churns inky black. “Should be a nicer day tomorrow. Unless that rhyme’s not actually true.”
“Too bad.” Kate smiles. Etta probably can’t see it from where she is, which is good. It feels thin and not quite happy. “Was hoping we could make a weekend of this.”
Etta twists in her chair. Kate can feel her for a long moment, just looking. “You don’t need a storm to come up here,” she says, at length. “You could just… come up.”
Kate only hums in response, underqualified to find the right words. But she doesn’t need to. Etta must know by now, doesn’t she, that Kate will be wherever she wants her?
