1984. Out of the Cellar

is the debut album by band Ratt. Released in March 27.

Wanted Man was co-written by bassist Joey Cristofanilli. Cristofanilli briefly substituted for Juan Croucier, who was also a member of Dokken at the time.

The model on the album cover is Tawny Kitaen, better known for her appearances in Whitesnake music videos, and the same year’s teen-aimed film Bachelor Party. As she was the long-time girlfriend to guitarist Robbin Crosby at that time, Kitaen also appeared in the “Back For More” music video.

Ratt’s best-known album Out Of The Cellar would go on to sell 5 million copies. Out of the Cellar is hailed by many rock critics as the hair-metal album of the ‘80s. The guitar playing solidifies this as fact with Robin Crosby’s thunderous rythm guitar and Warren DeMartini’s lightning attack on the fret board. Out of the Cellar is always mentioned everytime there is a conversation of the best metal albums of the '80s. If you liked this album, their second release Invasion of Your Privacy is just as great.
