Forgotten masterpiece: “Plopular Poetry” by Wally Wood. A single page ran in Plop! #18-24, published by DC Comics, November 1975 - November 1976. Sadly the series was cancelled and the final two installments were never completed.
PULL UP A CHAIR, children, because here’s a Mothers Day story about how you were all born.
One day a nuclear holocaust made all the men sterile. Aw $#!T, right, no more man sperms? The race is doomed! —BUT NO. PUT A BRILLIANT WOMAN SCIENTIST ON THAT JOB AND WATCH WHAT HAPPENS:
PARTHENOGENESIS, BITCHES. Self-fertilization. The ladies just stone-cold invented a way to reproduce by themselves. Sorry for your loss, fellas, but this train is leaving the station and ONLY LADIES ON BOARD. Because guess what:
Parthenogenesis will only produce females! Good thing we don’t NEED the men anymore anyway!
So anyway yeah, eventually all the men died and life went on:
WHATEVER. This lady civilization raged on, but eventually they ran out of the radioactive junk that lets them self-fertilize. No more parthenogenesis? Aw naw, now the race is surely doomed!
NO, FOOLS. GUESS WHAT?
Those ladies stone-cold INVENTED BOTH SPACE TRAVEL AND MOTHERFUCKING TIME TRAVEL and went back in time and got some men. They kept the dudes for about a month and let them have sexytimes with whoever.
But then they sent those fckers BACK to their own time so they wouldn’t have to deal with them anymore.
So to recap:
All the men died
Women didn’t need them anyway
Women invented time travel
Happy Mothers Day!
