spent the weekend in ohio with my big, loud, chaotic family. we petted horses & played in the water & drank beer. Dash was consistently 1) recruited to be a buckeye and 2) carried around by his girl gang of cousins.
it was good for our souls.
we don’t live near family. mostly, it’s fine. we are very self-sufficient & have the exact life we want (and it’s a beautiful life). but this was a reminder of what it means to be part of a village. and there’ll always be a piece of me yearning for that.
