He gotta give him that air you know

On Chat Noir’s Bad Luck

I saw a couple of posts saying that Chat fell twice off the sleigh, causing Ladybug to have to get him back up every time.

What I haven’t seen enough is people reminding that Chat Noir is fundamentally taking the hits for Ladybug because that’s his power. His bad luck allows Ladybug’s luck to exist.

You can’t say “Whoops that one’s lucky” unless someone else got unlucky. If everyone’s lucky, then the concept of luck doesn’t exist since nothing’s different.

It’s like good that can’t exist without evil.

Chat takes the hits, Ladybug doesn’t. Because he’s unlucky and she’s lucky.

If you rewatch all the ML episodes, you’ll notice that the akuma will always target Chat first before going for Ladybug. And if the akuma targets Ladybug directly, Chat will always jump between them because he’s the bad luck to her luck.

  • For example, in Lady Wifi, Alya targets Chat in priority, causing him to hide behind the tables while Ladybug figures out a strategy to take her down.
  • In Guitar Villain, Chat Noir distracts the Akuma yet again, allowing Ladybug to do her thing.
  • In Chronogirl, Chat jumps to protect Ladybug. Because she’s lucky? Or because he yearns to protect her? Both are correct.

He has to take the hits for her. Because that’s the very purpose of his luck.

It’s like he’s a hit magnet. All the Akumas are compelled to target him first.

Sure, Adrien does it because that’s how he is, altruistic. But also think of it as something that his Chat Noir persona just does for Ladybug. To keep the balance of luck and misfortune.

I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry. You are not a bad person. You’re a very good person, who bad things have happened to. Besides, the world isn’t split into good people and Death Eaters. We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.

Fandom prefers their mentally ill characters to be like a fairy tale character, cursed to become a monster after spending 100 years with a wicked witch. Fandom loves Bucky Barnes because they see him as this cursed princess. When Bucky shows symptoms they manifest either as Sebastian Stan Looking Sad And Pensive, or as Literally Not In Control of His Own Body.

Tony Stark, a more realistic day-to-day portrayal of mental illness, is pretty widely hated and treated like a villain within the fandom. When Tony displays symptoms, it’s in making poor decisions out of desperation and fear. He goes to extremes. His mistakes made from fear based in his trauma blow up in his face. He displays coping mechanisms by being obsessive and unintentionally endangering people. He uses false arrogance and humor to distance himself, he lingers on his past trauma and it continues to shape his actions, often negatively, years later. He lashes out violently when he is faced with losing the few people he is close to.

Tony’s poor choices should not be excused because of his mental illnesses. He needs to be held responsible. But the way fandom treats Tony versus how they treat Bucky is pretty telling. Fandom doesn’t want mentally ill characters. They want innocent victims who cope in perfectly healthy ways and have never made any mistakes or poor choices as a result of their mental illness or trauma. They want someone they can feel sad about, but not someone with any messy symptoms.

I’ll leave the context to your imaginations (Chicon 2016)

method for hydrating and soothing your skin in 2017

  • drink 1 cup of cold water
  • boil some water (enough to half-fill a large bowl)
  • pour the water into the bowl and add two drops of an essential oil (tea tree, eucalyptus, lavender, it doesn’t matter)
  • put your face over the bowl and cover your head with a towel to lock in the steam
  • wait for 15-20 minutes (or however long it takes for the water to cool then dab your face with a towel
  • drink another cup of cold water
  • mix together ¼ of an avocado (mashed or blended), 1 tablespoon of hot water, 1 tablespoon of honey, squeeze of lemon
  • spread all over ur face in a thick paste
  • leave for 20-30 mins depending on how you feel

there’s very little of 2016 left so I felt it was a good time to take a small tour through the art I did this year and I gotta say I do like the look of this one a bit better than the one for 2015

Let’s hope 2017 will be an amazing year for art and last off, THANK YOU SO MUCH for all the support you guys have given me this year!! ✧*。 ( •̀ ᴗ •́ )و ✧*。

Happy New Year, Richardclub! :D

This is my first attempt at making a full-blown embroidery project, and I’m not very good at it yet, which is why it took me a whole week to make. The design has been laying on my desk among the heaps of homework since a month ago though. I am so glad I got it done just in time for New Year’s Eve/New Year. So here’s for all the Richard II fans, wishing all of you a great year in 2017! ✨🍾💐🎈🎁🎉✨
