Vans US Open 2017 | DIY Buttons with Lizzie Armanto
We took a trip to the Vans US Open pop-up shop with Lizzie Armanto in search of the perfect piece to add some DIY flare. The winner? None other than the already adorable Funville Mini Backpack. Lizzie showed off her creativity (damn this girl can draw!) and her other hidden talent (Japanese!) while making custom buttons to add the perfect bit of flare to her backpack. Want to decorate your own backpack like Lizzie’s? Get the Funville Mini Backpack in stores or online vans.com.

The weather is heating up in Southern California, and this Golden Smoothie is the perfect way to cool down. We’re getting in the Vans US Open of Surfing spirit and hitting the beach with our Mineral Yellow US Open Sk8-Hi’s and smoothie in hand. Not only is the turmeric in our smoothie a nearly perfect Pantone match to our Sk8-Hi’s, but it’s loaded with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory health benefits!
If you’re heading to the event in Huntington Beach, stop by our pop-up shop and check out the Vans US Open collection!
½ cup coconut milk 1 banana ½ cup frozen mango ½ cup frozen pineapple ¼ tsp turmeric
Directions: Add all ingredients to a high powered blender and blend until smooth.
Tip: Cut and freeze the fruit before making your smoothie for an extra cold thick result!
Enjoying our time on the sand at the Vans US Open. From Van Doren Village to the Huntington Beach Pier, we’re digging the eclectic styles and smiling faces. The heat is on as we head into the finals for surf, skate and BMX.
Yesterday in the Men’s VPS Pro Tour prelims, 17 eager Tour Challengers battled it out for ten spots in the semi-finals. Leading the pack with a score of 89.05, Sweden’s Karl Berglind attacked the Vans Pro Park course, executing consistent trick variety and clean, focused lines. The top ten highest-placing Men’s Tour Challengers from Friday will meet the VPS Select Pros today for another heated all-star battle in the race to determine the VPS World Championships field in Shanghai on September 23.
