Like the remains of broken glass, piles of Lake Superior ice littered the shoreline this morning near the Marquette Harbor Lighthouse – what an awesome sight. The sound was incredible, too, as the shards of ice were being gently moved by the water and wind. Marquette, Michigan - 1/13/15


Here are a few shots of a wild and beautiful Lake Superior from last weekend. A cold arctic blast moved over the U.P. of Michigan and produced some strong winds, snow and big waves on Superior. The air temp. was near zero degrees and the wind chill was well below zero. When the lake is roaring and the conditions are terrible, that’s when you’ll find me out there.
