More than eighty years had passed since Carlisle had found Esme, and yet he still looked at her with those incredulous eyes of first love. It would always be that way for them.

“Isaac,” you nudge the sleeping boy but he doesn’t even stir. “Isaac,” you repeat louder and give him a shove. He groans but his eyes stay closed. You roll your eyes. This boy could sleep through a hurricane.

“Isaac.” You hiss, pushing him off the bed. He lands on the wood floor with a loud thud. He sits up and you can only see his head above the bead making you giggle. He shoots you a glare. He looks over at the clock on his bedside table.

“It’s like three in the morning, Y/N, what are you doing here?”

“I was bored.” You reply as if it’s the most obvious thing in the world.

“How did you even get in anyways?” He asks, pulling himself up onto the bed and sprawling across it, his head landing in your lap.

“You sleep with your window open.” You shrug, running your fingers through his soft curls. He lets out a content hum.

“That feels nice.” He mumbles, his eyes closing again.

You shake him away again. “Oh no you don’t. We’re going to go do something fun.”

He groans. “What are we even going to do at three in the morning?”

“I don’t know.” You shrug. Despite your inconclusive answer, he drags himself out of bed and towards his closet to find a clean shirt and pair of sweatpants. He grabs his phone and wallet off his nightstand and slips them into the pockets of his sweatpants before grabbing your hand and dragging you towards the window.

You climb on his back as he leaps off the roof and effortlessly lands on the pavement below. You slide off his back and fall into pace beside him as you walk down the street. He looks over at you curiously.

“Any clue where we’re going?”

You walk in silence for awhile until you see the school further ahead. You grab his hand and rush towards it. You make your way to the locker room entrance. You stop, your back leaning against the metal door, your hand resting on the door handle. You grin mischievously at Isaac.

“Let’s go swimming.”

“Remember what happened last time we snuck into the school and went swimming?”

“That was one time.” You rebut. “Jackson went all kanama crazy and shit.”

Isaac rolls his eyes but doesn’t seem any more enthused to go inside. “Bad things always happen when we go to the school at night.” Isaac mutters.

“Don’t be such a baby.” You tease. “Plus if we go swimming, you get to see me like this.” You slowly unzip the front of your sweatshirt, leaving you in just a bra underneath. Isaac’s eyes are immediately drawn to your chest. His hands move towards you but you stop him.

“Not unless you go swimming with me.” You smirk.

Isaac rolls his eyes. “Fine.” You squeal happily and pull open the door to the locker room and you sneak inside. You make your way to the pool and strip down to your underwear. You can feel Isaac watching. He fumbles to get his shirt off, distracted by you. You confidently strut over to him and pull the shirt over his head.

You saunter off towards the pool, swaying your hips as you walk. “Fucking tease.” You hear Isaac mutter from behind you. You and Isaac weren’t together, but you were best friends and there was always some sexual tension between the two of you and everyone could see it.

“Pardon?” you ask.

“Nothing.” Isaac smirks, picking you up and dunking both of you in the pool. You let out a shout of surprise as you come up for air.

“Isaac!” you screech, swatting at his chest.

“Oops, my bad.” He grins.

The two of you have a splash war and judge each other’s cannon balls. You spend almost a half hour just goofing around in the pool. You hear the sound of a door opening in the distance. Isaac’s head snaps towards the sound. Quickly he pulls you out of the pool and you gather your clothes, heading towards the exit.

“Hey!” you look behind you to see an officer running towards you. Someone must have seen the two of you enter the school.

“Run.” Isaac says, the two of you bolting out the back exit of the pool and dashing towards the woods.

You run until you can barely feel your legs anymore. The two of you stop and Isaac listens. Finally, he concludes no one is following you anymore and breathes out a sigh of relief. His head falls back against the tree. You let out a giggle and he shoots you a glare.

“That was fun.” You say.

“That was definitely not fun.”

“Come on, don’t be such a baby.”

“Stop saying that.” Isaac snaps. His harsh tone catches you by surprise and suddenly you feel awkward. He lets out a sigh. “I’m sorry.”

You shrug, turning away from him. “Seriously, I’m sorry. I just get nervous. I don’t want to be the reason you get in trouble. Plus, I’m staying at Scott’s right now and I don’t want ot make any trouble for them.”

“If anything it would have been me getting you in trouble.” You laugh. You grab his hand. “Come on let’s head home.”

Isaac slips on his sweatpants and then pulls his sweatshirt over your head. It falls mid thigh, barely covering your ass. The two of you make your way through the woods until you come out at the edge of town. The two of you walk back towards Scott’s house.

Isaac’s arm is casually slung across your shoulders but begins to slide lower, eventually landing on your ass and giving it a squeeze. You let out a yelp and quickly cover your mouth. You laugh, lightly punching his shoulder.

You arrive at Scott’s house and are about to head home but Isaac stops you. You study his face and it looks like he may say something but he stops himself.

“I’m tired; I’m going to head home.” You say. Isaac grabs your waist and pulls you into him, breathing in your scent.

“No, stay, please,” he says in a husky voice. You nod and climb on his back as the two of you make your way back up the roof and into his bedroom.

The two of you collapse onto the bed, exhausted from all the running. Isaac buries his head in the crook of you neck and all of a sudden you feel his warm lips pressing against the tender skin. You push away from him quickly.

“Isaac what are you doing?” you ask, you eyes widening.

“I’m sorry, I just, I-“ he stutters but is unable to come up with an explanation.

“This isn’t supposed to happen.” You say quickly. “We’re friends, best friends. You’re my day one. My ride or die.”

“I can still be all of that,” Isaac whispers. “And do this.” Isaac presses a kiss to your lips. You find yourself melting into his gesture. Your arms wrap around his neck, your fingers tangling in his curly locks. His hands tightly grip your waist, pulling you flush against him.

The kiss leaves you breathless as the two of you pull apart. Your lips are slightly parted as you work to catch your breath and Isaac looks at you, trying to gauge your emotion.

“Was that okay?” he asks nervously.

You pause, thinking, was it? You slowly nod, a smile creeping on to your face. His smile mirrors yours.

“Next time we hang out it isn’t going to be you showing up at three in the morning, okay? It’s going to be me taking you out on a proper date.” You nod.

He presses one last kiss to your lips before you exit through the window.
