Let’s get started!

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Grease and line three 6-inch round cake pans.
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to beat butter, shortening and sugar until light and fluffy.
  5. Add eggs whites one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add extracts.
  6. On a low speed, alternate adding the flour mixture and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Fold sprinkles into the batter.
  7. Divide batter evenly between cake pans and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  8. Once cakes are fully cooled, level them with a cake leveler.
  9. Stack cakes on a cake board, making sure to frost between each layer.
  10. Use a cake turntable to smooth white frosting over the entire cake.

Time to decorate!

  1. Use white fondant to make a unicorn horn.
  2. Mix a few drops of almond extract into edible gold dust and then brush it onto the horn.
  3. Use teardrop cutters to create fondant ears and then paint the inner ear gold. Insert a toothpick into the bottom of each ear.
  4. Pipe rosettes on the top and along one side of the cake using the pink and light purple frosting and #824 tips.
  5. Add dollops of detail using the pink and dark purple frosting and #4B tips. Use blue and dark purple frosting fitted with #2A tips to add more details.
  6. Pipe eyes onto the front center of the cake. Place horn on the top center of the cake and the ears on either side of the horn.
  7. TaDa! This colorful Unicorn Cake will bring magic to any occasion!

Things to take note of:

- They say ‘Ninja-Go!’ before lunging into their lockers, both possibly giving away their identity and making the general audience roll their eyes.

- Cole moves the slowest out of all the ninja.

- Zane’s body has to go through a long process in order to turn around.

- When shouting out their 'call sign’, the ninja are all supportive of each other. Especially Zane.

- When Jay falls into his mech, his hair spikes up briefly to make a new hair piece. Also, he’s just adorable.

- Cole’s vinyl says “Earth Quake Mix #1 Tracks 1-13. Also, he looks like a professional DJ with his turntables.

-All the ninja 'stand-by’ until everyone is ready.

- Jay says that if they have those mechs, they are unstoppable. Nice foreshadow to them having their mechs destroyed.

- THE MUSIC! Techno, but still has that Ninjago flair to it. And it makes me feel good every time- especially when it rises after Lloyd’s dragon roars.

- If Garmadon attacks the city every day, its obvious that this is all of the ninja’s favorite moment of the day.

“Harry, your demon spawn kittens got on the turntable. Again.” Louis is standing in the middle of their study when Harry walks in, hands on his hips and trying to keep the stern look on his face. It’s a lot harder when Harry lights up at the sight of their kittens.

“Lou, they’re so cute! Hold on, I need a picture - no, a video - a vine!"

"Haz,” he’s pretty sure his frown is turning into a pout but he’s not going to be the first to say it. “You made, like, three vines yesterday. Just get them off of there.”

Harry’s lips are quirking up into a smirk and he raises an eyebrow at Louis, looking up from where he’s fiddling with his phone. Smug isn’t a good look on Harry. (It’s hot but he’s not about to admit that either. He refuses to believe Harry already knows.)

“Aww, babe, are you jealous? It’s okay love, I can take a picture of you next. Get another cute one to add to the collection.” Right, the many subfolders Harry has dedicated to couples pictures, dinner dates, Louis’ fringe, Louis in glasses, Louis’ smile, and an endless list of inane things Harry finds adorable. He’s in love with an idiot. A sweetheart, but an idiot.

“I’m not jealous! I was worried about your shitty hipster vinyls but that’s fine, let them scratch them up. I always thought Abbey Road was missing those skips that can only come from little kitten claws."

Harry’s apparently satisfied with whatever he’s done because he pockets his phone and goes to scoop up their kittens. They let out two tiny disgruntled mewls as he nestles them in one big hand each. It’s awful the contrast they make, Harry’s hands looking even bigger and lovelier with two squirming little fur balls licking at his fingers.

"C'mon, Lou, they’re our babies. They’ll think their daddy doesn’t love them.” Harry holds them up in front of his face so Louis is forced to deal with his big, green doe eyes blinking at him. Meanwhile, Sammy is scrunching his little wet nose at Louis and Pumpkin let’s out a yawn, his pink little tongue poking out.

Louis tries to hold out for what he deems an appropriately put off amount of time before sighing and leaning down to nudge his nose against their kittens’. Their whiskers tickle his cheeks and Pumpkin let’s out a surprised sound.

Their bitty paws bat at his chest as he leans up to kiss the awful knowing smile off Harry’s face. “You’re a menace.”

“Love you, too, Lou.”
