Rad Queers: EDIE FAKE
from Graham Kolbeins’ documentary series on queer artists and activists

The Chicago Alternative Comics Expo would like to announce that founding organizer, Edie Fake has decided to step down from his organizing role. Edie has been a gallant companion as we have worked to make CAKE a full-fledged celebration of alternative comics in Chicago. While we are sad he is leaving us, and will miss having him at our side, we wish him well as he voyages the eclectic unknown.

We would like to take this opportunity to announce Edie Fake as a Special Guest for CAKE 2014! Edie is a preeminent master of psychedelic design, with his book Gaylord Phoenix summoning a walkabout narrative of ferocious fearlessness. Last year Edie presented his solo show “Memory Palaces” at the Thomas Robertello Gallery in Chicago, which portrayed the imagined architecture of a queer utopia. Edie’s work has been featured internationally, and is the subject of the recently released short film, Rad Queers: Edie Fake, by Graham Kolbeins.
