I would like to set a chapter or so of my book in a remote location that shows just how surreal nature can be (so no cities or anything like that) and I have so many choices that serve as inspiration, but I don’t know which one to pick! (By the way, if you have a suggestion that’s not shown here, please tell me! Cimer~)
1. Gouqi Island (abandoned fishing village in China)
2. Thermal Pools (Pamukkale, Turkey)
3. Giant’s Causeway(Northern Ireland)
4. Punalu’u Black Sand Beach (Hawaii)
*might use this one for something else however…
5. Hidden Beach (Mexico)
6. Fairy Pools, Purple Leaves, and Other Sights (Isle of Sky, Scotland)
Another sight to see in Turkey! Although, I read that it’s very crowded and currently swimming might be prohibited due to conservation issues, plus the hotels in the area look a bit questionable. Sinter Terasse House seems to be the cutest, but I wonder if it isn’t possible to stay in a relatively closer town with more options…
Okay, so thank you for the likes and reblogs on my “Prithee, Help Me Choose” post! The only people who actually helped me decide were my friends irl but it’s all good XD
I ended up choosing the thermal pools!
To refresh your memory:
To be honest, I’m a genius. Okay, well…my subconscious is a genius. I AM DYING, I TELL YOU, DYING to tell you why, but alas, as River Song would say….
Anyway…I also looked to different Turkish villages and towns for inspiration. I wanted to be geographically accurate, but to be honest, some nearby villages were rather…barren (to put it in nice words), so I chose Göreme in all its Fairy Chimney glory!
And after all that research, I am desperate to visit Turkey, but I suppose I shall have to live vicariously through my characters.
