The-Damned-Thing

i highkey wish that kylie renner never took the fucking bucket off his head, bc none of this gotdam mess would've happened

I wish I could share this idea, but even if he hadn’t people would still have found out who was inside the armor and fandom would have gone “zomg, mediocre looking white guy ftw!”

And even on the off chance they didn’t go off for Adam, there’s still General Weasley to contend with. Fandom can and will obsess over white boys if it can find them. As an example see Pacific Rim fandom or Fury Road fandom.

So it’s a nice dream, but it would have happened in one way or another, because fandom as a whole have a white boy obsession a mile white… erm, wide.

FIRST DRAFT // POEM IN THE PRESENT TENSE

I killed me when I chose
my specificity.

Teach me breath’s womb, breath’s binary star.

               *

      Hour, I spent you
unbuttoning
            the same damned button—

      Lifetime, I spent you
buttoning
the damned thing in the first place.

(The second button
unbuttons
itself.)

               *

      What scorched midwifery
delivers me
            from fire into fire?

      And what do I have
in my arms?
            My Siamese twins:

one sheathed in the other’s skin,
each bound
            to a singular pulse—

one scarlet writhing, one slick jag.
My little dynamos,
            my little duels.

What can I give you, my children,
but a promise?
(Terrible gift!— yes, I mean the terror of it—)

I will try to praise, dear ones,
your present tense:
            as difficult, as necessary

      as clutching water
in my hands
            until I drink;

      my love’s face
in my mind
            until I drink—

               *

To touch, to be touched! Understand—

      I cannot go on
refuting
          the sacredness of things.

      I cannot go on
undoing
            that which holiness has done.

And since I cannot go on
unlistening:
            all that I hear

I will sing for you.
Because.

               *

      When a God bids you
take off your shoes

            you take off your shoes.

I think it's funny how before I watched The 100 I thought Clarke was the guy and Bellamy was the girl. I also thought they were together solely based on text posts I would see about them here and there & I pronounced their ship name bell-ark-ee. Lol

Clarke and Bellamy are totally gender neutral names, if not masculine for Clarke and feminine for Bellamy. I always say that any of the characters could actually be any sex, and it wouldn’t change one damn thing about the story, which I think is actually fantastic. There are no girly characters and no manly man characters, although there are characters who are definitely masculine and definitely feminine… and actually characters who have both masculine and feminine traits, namely Clarke, Bellamy, Lxa, Lincoln, Raven, Finn, Octavia.

Oh that’s off the point anyway.

I was never even on tumblr until I was already deep in the bellarke hole, but it was the gifsets that brought me here. I went the opposite of you. You were lured into bellarke with tumbler gifsets. I was lured into tumblr with bellarke gifsets. lol. And with gifsets alone, you’d totally think Bellarke is canon. Because visually, they are telling a romance. It hasn’t gotten to the dialogue yet…. or rather, it hasn’t gotten to Clarke and Bellamy’s dialogue, but this bleeping show is absolutely doing Bellarke romance. And it’s in freaking canon, it’s just not kissing in canon. It’s like this juicy delicious pre-courting thing. Like we’re watching their feelings for each other blossom on screen. Oh, anon, what are you doing? You didn’t ask me any of these questions.

B&W I need you, though.

“I cannot linger, I have–”

(what do you have? what have you ever had that was not given to you by this place? your person stripped down to bare bones and your child - your beautiful baby girl - stolen…

But that pain came later and earlier did it not? You cannot help that pain. You’ve lived it over the course of a thousand lifetimes, each a cut, razor sharp against your sanity. Are you truly mad now? Was it the time spent alone with your thoughts, your friends of grief and rage?

Or is it her, standing before you with her hands extended, wanting you to come back to the place that damned you.)

“–things to do.”

Myka nods once, curtly. She understands that it’s a dismissal, that it’s something you do not do easily. Reluctance tugs at your heart.  You wish you could be crueler.  “Will you come back?”

“Perhaps.” You don’t think you will. “In time.”

You know, for all the “she’s aggressive and violent” criticism that gets thrown Jasper’s way, I’d like to point out that she’s actually shown a lot of retraint.

I’ve already touched on it here, but I wanna make another point about it.

Jasper hates Rose Quartz. HATES her. And it is understandable. Rose Quartz is in many ways responsible for everything wrong in Jasper’s life. The least of which is the fact that Jasper has to serve another Diamond than the one she was made for.

But seeing Steven, who she believes is Rose in another form, she still shows a lot of restraint.

In The Return, she clearly thinks Steven is Rose and yet….she still treats him like a human. And incapacitates him like she probably would a human. Even going so far as removing her helmet in doing so.

In Earthlings, when Steven tries to heal her, she claws at him. He is close enough that she could do a lot of damage to him. To his gem.

But she doesn’t. She doesn’t even draw blood. Instead she seems to aim for his shirt.

Not to mention we get a close up of his shirt being torn, but him being unharmed. They wanted us to focus on the fact that Jasper could’ve hurt Steven, but didn’t.

And I feel like that’s important. Especially in Earthlings. Jasper is in a damaged state, not just because she is getting corrupted. And she still shows so much restraint to the Gem she believes is the cause of all her pain.
