Does Joker let anyone else call him puddin or mistah J or is only Harley allowed to?
Pretty sure it’s only allowed by Harley to uphold the boyfriend/girlfriend dynamic between them. She means it. She’s not saying it to taunt or undermine him in any way. And he goes with it and partakes in it to feign a loving relationship with her. I think it’s a parody in Joker’s mind. Joker’s brand of ‘comedy’ is usually always a reflection of something real, as social commentary and parody. It’s all part of Joker’s nihilism and philosophy that’s a whole nother discussion, but this, I think, definitely carries over to his relationship with Harley. It’s a parody. He does it partly to make fun of real couples because it amuses him (and partly because he loves her but doesn’t realise it) And pet names are DEFINITELY part of that game. So yes, it’s only something him and Harley share.

“I don’t have a technique. I’ve never been a believer in having one set
technique on how to act. There are no rules and there is no rulebook. At
the end of the day, it all comes down to my instincts. That’s the one
thing that guides me through every decision professionally. Socially,
also. That’s my technique. Yeah, you read through the script 100 times. I
guess I have little characteristics about myself. Sometimes, most often
than not, once we start shooting I won’t look at the script at all
until we finished shooting. It’s kind of like it’s been imprinted in my
head during rehearsals. You just let it go.”
Batman left Harley back in the main control center of the Bat Cave as he went to locate Joker. It wasn’t difficult. He had seen him on the security feeds at the main steel door that was access to the Batmobile and other vehicles.
Upon reaching the steel door, Batman witnessed an almost comical sight. The Joker sat defeated on the floor, leaning against the cave wall. Above him was a control access panel, or what was left of one. An ax was currently embedded into it’s main components, random sparks flying here and there.
“Thanks for that.” Said Batman sarcastically and Joker looked up at him with a half-hearted grin.
“It wasn’t playing nice, so neither was I.” Said Joker. Batman lifted one of his gauntlets and spoke to it.
“Computer, override and secure security panel main steel door.” Batman looked down at Joker before continuing. “Security code: 56537.”
A female computerized voice echoed around them.
“Security code excepted. Override complete. Panel system shutdown.” Replied the voice. The sparks from the panel stopped as the power was cut off. Batman gripped the ax and yanked it free. He dropped the ax into Joker’s tote that was sitting open right next to the clown.
“Careful you idiot!” Joker yelled as he jumped back. “There are some, uh, highly sensitive instruments in there.” Batman eyed him carefully.
“You mean bombs.” Batman said tersely. Joker just shrugged.
“Come on, get up. You need to have a word with Harley.” Joker folded his arms defiantly.
“No, I don’t think I will.” Batman had had enough. He grabbed Joker by the collar and lifted him so they were face to face.
“I wasn’t asking, Joker.” He seethed and the Joker ate it up. He smiled broadly and began to giggle.
“There you are, Bats! For a while there I thought I might have lost you. I should have known better. My Batsy always comes back to me!” Batman’s eyes grew narrow as he let Joker go roughly. Joker regained himself and straightened his vest and shirt.
“Talk to Quinn, Joker.” Said Batman again. Joker tilted his head playfully.
“Say I do. What will you give me in return?” Joker cooed. Batman sighed as he reached to unlock his helmet.
“Oh, no no, Bats. Been there, done that. Not that I don’t like what there is to see; I want something new.” Joker sauntered up to Batman till they were mere inches apart, their faces almost touching. Batman felt a knot grow in his stomach and his mouth went dry. He didn’t want to think about what he suspected the Joker wanted.
It was absurd, it was ridiculous, but Batman had to appease the Joker so he’d talk with Harley, for Harley’s sake if nothing else.
Without thinking on it any longer, Batman turned on Bruce Wayne in his mind and before either of the two realized what had happened, Bruce kissed the Joker on the lips.
It wasn’t as short or chase as a peck, but not quite a full blown kiss either. It was just enough to give the mad clown what he desired.
The Joker in turn was quite beside himself. He honestly didn’t see that one coming. He stared at Batman with a look of shock and adoration, placing two fingers on his lips as if to confirm to himself that the kiss really did happen.
The truly revealing point was how Batman had kissed him. He could have just did a one-off fake to get the Joker to do what he wanted, which the Joker was embarrassed to admit, he probably would. Instead, Batman had taken into account what Joker desired and gave him a little extra. There was feeling behind that kiss, let Bats deny it all he wanted. Batman had just started a new and very dangerous game with his favorite enemy.
“Now please, go speak with Quinn.” Said Batman. He sounded drained, as if the kiss had sapped the life out of him. Joker smiled and bowed with a sweep of his arm.
“As my Dark Knight commands.” He teased and gave Bats a wink as he headed back to the main control room.
Bonus: See if you can guess what secret the security code holds;)
