WBC muay thai international super-lightweight champion, Tetsuya Yamato, will face #1 ranked lightweight kickboxer, Masaaki Noiri, this weekend.
Yamato is a veteran of K-1 and Lion Fight. Most notably, he won the K-1 MAX 2010 Japan tournament, knocking out Yuki Taguchi and Kizaemon Saiga before upsetting Yuta Kubo in the finals. Most recently he defeated Kevin Ross at Lion Fight 11 by a somewhat controversial split decision, in what was a back and forth war.
Opposite of him is the #1 ranked lightweight kickboxer in the world, Masaaki Noiri. Coming from a karate background, Noiri has been fighting since he was a teenager. A raw, talented prospect in his teen years, Noiri has risen through the ranks as a professional and at 20, is one of the top fighters in the world today. As of late, he defeated Yuta Kubo for the KRUSH -67kg title, avenging his two previous losses to Kubo in the process.
Should be a good fight, both of these guys always bring their A games. With that said, I see Noiri winning this one pretty easily.
