a/n: This was not requested, but I have been thinking a lot about Sweet Pea and how he needs a LOT more recognition. So, I wrote this. I absolutely adore him and I really hope you guys like this possible fic!?!?! I am really excited about this so, here is “The Princess & The Snake.”

I groaned as my mother ripped open the curtains, letting the sunlight fall into my room. She pulled the covers off of my now cold body, “You are going to be late for school if you don’t get out of bed this instant.”
I pulled my pillow over my head, “You couldn’t have turned on the light like a normal parent? I know you love your dramatic flare, but that was a little eccentric.”
“Y/N Y/M/N, get out of bed and into the shower now.” She yanked the pillow off of my head then proceeded to pull me up into a sitting position.
“Aye Aye Captain.” I saluted sarcastically. She just smiled and left my room. I huffed as I got out of my extremely comfortable bed and crossed the hall to the bathroom. After brushing my teeth, and taking a quick shower, I grabbed a pair of light wash jeans and my white, lace-up blouse. I applied a thin layer of mascara to my eyelashes and swiped on some red lipstick. I threw the top half of my Y/H/C hair into a small ponytail, leaving the rest down. I slipped on my red converse, grabbed my backpack, and headed downstairs.
As I set my backpack on the stool next to the one I sat in, my mom slid a bowl of Cheerios in front of me, “Eat.” I shoveled a spoonful of cereal into my mouth, “Big day, mom?” She was dressed her very best and she was fidgeting with everything she could get her hands on.
“Please don’t talk with your mouth full.” She started.
I mumbled a cereal filled, “Sorry.”
She gave me a sideways look, “What did I just say? And to answer your question: Yes, it is a very big day.”
“Do tell.” I smiled, pouring myself another bowl.
“I am showing Hiram Lodge a few properties he may be interested in.” She said proudly.
I choked on my cereal, “Hiram Lodge? Mom, I’ve told you countless times that V thinks he is up to no good. Why would you do business with him?”
“Sweetheart, not everything your new friend Veronica tells you is true.”
I scoffed, “He is her dad. I trust her word over anyone else’s.”
A knock on the door pulled us from the conversation. “That’s probably Betty. Go.” My mom ushered me toward the door, “I’ll take care of the bowl.”
“This conversation is so not over, mom.” I grabbed my backpack and walked out the front door. My mother’s soft, “I’ll be fine” was the last thing I heard.
“Hey, Betts.” I trotted down the front steps.
“What was that about?” Betty motioned back toward my door.
“My mom is doing business with Hiram.”
I looked at her, “You heard me. Hiram fucking Lodge. I swear to god, if he screws over my mom in any way, I don’t care if he’s Veronica’s dad; I’ll end him.”
“Well, what business are they doing together?” Betty pushed further.
“She is showing him a few properties to sell him, but she could still get hurt. I mean, even V is skeptical that her father doesn’t have some master plan in the works.” I gripped my backpack strap tighter, “I just don’t want to lose my mom too.”
“You won’t,” Betty reassured me.
“How can you be so sure?” I asked as we walked into school.
“Because your mom is-” Betty’s answer got cut off by Archie.
“Hi, Archie,” We said in unison. I sighed and headed towards my first class, worry taking over my entire being.
Later that day, Archie was pulled out of class because a Southsider saw him waving a gun around in some Serpent kid’s face. When they checked his locker, they found a black hood, putting Archie in more even trouble.
With all of the Black Hood versus the Red Circle and the Southside versus the Northside drama, I was exhausted; so, I opted out of Vixen practice. I told Cheryl that I had been feeling nauseous all day and luckily for me, she let me go home. It helps that I am one of her only real friends and I actually give a shit about her.
“Hey,” Cheryl’s voice called from behind me, “Feel better. Call me if you want me to come take care of you, yeah?”
I laughed, “I will, C. Love you.” I ran down the steps of the school and headed home.
As I closed the front door behind me, I realized that my mother wouldn’t be home for another hour or so. I grabbed an apple from the kitchen and trudged up the stairs to my room. I threw myself onto my unmade bed and took a bite out of the apple. I sat up and looked at the clock. 2:28pm. I grabbed the picture next to the clock and tears began to well up in my eyes. It was of mom, dad, and I sitting on the shore of Sweetwater River. We were so happy back then, before the constant fighting, before the divorce. My dad and I haven’t spoken since he and mom split. She was awarded sole custody of me, meaning my dad could not see me unless my mother let him. She didn’t.
I placed the picture frame back on the nightstand and cleared the tears from my cheeks. I grabbed my laptop from the edge of my bed and began to write an essay that wasn’t due for another three weeks, just needing to get my mind off of my dad.
An hour and a half later, the front door opened and closed, signaling that mom was home. I hopped out of bed and ran down the stairs, “So, what happened?”
My mom let out a small scream as she jumped, “Jesus, you scared me. It went well.” She placed her purse on the table in the foyer, “Actually, I have to get changed. I am joining Hiram and Hermione Lodge for dinner over in Greendale, to celebrate finding him a property. I will leave you some money for dinner. I won’t be back until late this evening.”
“You are leaving again?” My shoulders dropped in disappointment, “But it’s movie night. We were supposed to watch the Proposal.”
She kissed my forehead, “I promise I will make it up to you.” She waltzed up the stairs to her room, leaving me alone again.
“Mom?” I knocked on her door, peaking in.
She rounded the corner from her bathroom fastening her one of her earrings, “Yeah, hon?”
“Are you su- uh,” I paused, “I just get worried with everything going on in Riverdale that you leaving me alone in the house is reckless.”
She let out a tiny laugh, “Reckless, huh? Sweetie, call Betty and ask her to come over if you are afraid of being alone.”
“Pfft, I’m not afraid. I just think you going out with the Lodge’s isn’t a good idea.” I was perched on the edge of her bed with my legs crossed. I fidgeted with my fingers, refusing to make eye contact.
“Y/N enough of this ‘The Lodge’s are evil’ nonsense.” She scolded, “They are wonderful people. I am the parent here, not you. You don’t have to worry about me. I can take care of myself. I’m tougher than I look.”
I stood up, “Only because you grew up on the Southside. Don’t think I haven’t seen the tattoo you try to so hard to keep hidden from me.”
“Enough, Y/N Y/M/N. You have no right to bring that up.” She glared at me.
I rolled my eyes. “Yes, I do!” I began, “You say you’re entitled to every single detail of my life and you don’t tell me anything. How is that fair?”
“I am the parent. What I say goes in this household, got it? If I say I don’t want to talk about it, drop the subject.” She fumed. This happened every time I brought up anything she didn’t like. For example, the fact that she has a Serpent tattoo on the inside of her right arm or anytime I even mention my father.
“You know, you always say how different you and Alice are, but you’re exactly the same. You watch your kid’s every move but as soon as they question you, you act like it’s the god damn end of the world. It’s probably why you are best friends.” I argued.
“Watch your language, young lady. Go to your room. I will let you know when I am leaving.” She closed her bedroom door behind me as I stormed off into my room.
About twenty minutes later, there was a small knock on my door. “Come in.”
My mom pushed the door open and sat on my bed, “I am sorry that you feel like I keep things from you. I do, but it is for your own good. One day, when you are older, I’ll explain everything. I will tell you everything, I promise. I don’t want to leave with us on bad terms. I love you always.”
I sighed, knowing when it comes to my mom, it’s better to just drop the subject than to push further, “I love you too, mom. I’m sorry I kept pushing.”
“Here,” She handed me $20, “Order Chinese or pizza or whatever your heart desires. I will be home late.”
“Please be safe,” I whispered.
She pressed a kiss to the top of my head and left the room. I heard the door close as I walked to my window. I watched as her car pulled out of the driveway, then ran downstairs to grab the takeout menus.
The Proposal was blaring through the television speakers, Chinese takeout containers littered the coffee table, and I was curled up on the couch, shoveling orange chicken into my mouth. The roar of motorcycles caused me to jump. Curiosity pulled me towards the window where I saw several of the younger Serpents storm up the front steps of the house across the street. Archie’s house. The biggest one seemed to be threatening Archie as Reggie appeared next to him. What had Andrews gotten himself into now?
Deciding to mind my own business, I returned to my spot on the couch and picked the chicken back up. Ten minutes later, there was an urgent knock on the front door. I paused the movie and went to open the door, “Veronica?”
The raven-haired girl stood in her black cloak, “There is a fight going down, Serpents versus Bulldogs. I need your help or someone is going to die.”
I grabbed my shoes and keys and left with Veronica. She told me she had to go get something, and sent me to where the fight was going down.
I ran through the parked cars towards the boys standing several feet away, the rain drenching everyone in sight. The fight had already started and I watched Archie punch the tall serpent in the eye. I screamed for them to stop, pulling one of the Serpents off of Reggie. I ran for Archie and shoved the Serpent away from him, “Get off of him, you giant oaf.” My bracelet got caught on his jacket, so I shoved him again trying to break free, the clasp broke and it fell to the ground.
“What the fuck did you just call me?” His attention directed entirely on me. I backed up towards Archie as the Serpent towered over me.
“Y/N what are you doing?” Archie yelled, “Get out of here.”
Strong arms wrapped around my torso as I was lifted from behind and dragged away from Archie. “No! Get off of me!” I thrashed in the assailant’s arms, “Let go of me.” He easily held me against his chest as I watched as the Serpent kicked Archie in the stomach. He went to kick Archie again when a gunshot rang through the night. Veronica was standing in between two cars, the gun in her hand. The Serpent holding me loosened his grip and I rammed my elbow into his ribs, causing him to let go of me completely and double over in pain. I ran past Dilton, who was bleeding from a stab wound to his leg from his own knife. Moron.
Running to Archie I helped him up. “Come on,” I rushed, “We have to get out of here!”
I took one last look at the tall Serpent before running off in the other direction.
The Bulldogs and Serpents scattered as Reggie put Dilton in his car, no doubt taking him to the hospital. Archie and Veronica went a different way than I did, leaving me to walk alone in the rain.
I was roughly three blocks from home when I heard a motorcycle pull up next to me, the tall serpent from the fight getting off the bike. I tried to walk away, but his voice made me stop in my tracks, “I thought you might want this back. Looked too pretty for it to be left in the street.”
I turned around to see my bracelet dangling from his fingertips, a teasing smirk on his face, “Oh, c’mon princess. I don’t bite.” He paused and smirked again, “Too hard.”
I reached out to grab the bracelet only to have him pull his arm back towards his body, “You didn’t think it’d be that easy, did you? I really don’t like being called a giant oaf. It’s not nice.”
I scoffed, “Like you’re nice.” I took a step forward, mustering up every ounce of courage in my body, “Just give me my bracelet, you asshole.”
He just laughed, “What’s your name, princess?”
“Stop calling me princess,” I growled.
“You live on the Northside, automatically makes you a princess. Bet you’re a cheerleader.” He smirked yet again, his wet hair falling in his face.
“I am not.” I stepped forward again, trying to seem unbothered by this situation and by him.
“You’re a liar, princess.” He laughed, playing with my bracelet. His broad shoulders moved up and down with his laughter.
“Stop calling me princess,” I said, not hating it nearly as much as I was letting on.
He took a step towards me, our bodies nearly touching, but I stood my ground and stared up at him. He leaned down and whispered in my ear, “Make me.”
A shiver raced through my body as I took a step back, losing my footing. I would’ve fallen over had his hands not latched themselves onto my waist, steadying me. My breath caught in my throat. Gaining my focus back, I pushed his hands off of me, “Do not touch me.”
“Alright, princess.” He walked back to his bike, got onto it, and held up my bracelet, “You’ll get this back when you tell me your name.” He sped off down the street without so much as another glance. Whoever he was, I knew that wouldn’t be the last time I would see him.
Request: “You know Friends the tv show? Well how about this. A Sweet Pea imagine where the reader and him have a secret relationship and one day he gets up to leave and forgets that they aren’t alone and kisses her. But everyone is like THE DITTLY FUCK WAS THAT. So he proceeds to kiss everyone.”
Author’s Note: Thanks for the person who requested and @arielle-mari for ideas! This is like my favorite scene in all of Friends, so I hope you enjoy it!
You rested your head on the dingy couch and took another sip of your beer. It was starting to get late, and it was a school night, but none of you wanted to leave the Whyte Wyrm yet. A bunch of kids had just been initiated, and everyone was having too good of a time. You were sitting on the couch next to Sweet Pea, a careful few inches of space between you. Ever since you’d started dating, you’d both been hyper-aware of your behavior when you were together. The last thing you needed was for everyone to know, especially after Toni had made everyone swear off friend-group dating after a particularly awkward game of truth or dare.
You hadn’t tried to get together—it just kind of happened. The two of you had been friends since you were kindergarten together that Southside Elementary, so when the River Vixen he’d been enamored with broke his heart at the beginning of senior year, you were there for him. A few late-night Pop’s trips later, you found yourself making out in the parking lot behind the diner. It was exhilarating until you remembered that you had all sworn not to date.
We fawn over Peter Kavinsky a lot, but can we talk about Lara Jean? Cause that girl is the most relatable and sweetest character ever. When they’re in the cafe talking after the party and Peter tries to brush off his dad leaving him and LJ says “Well we don’t have to talk about it, but it’s not whatever”. That was honestly the sweetest and most understanding line ever. She’s not pushing him to spill his feelings, but she letting him know his feeling are valid at the same time. I just- I absolutely love Lara Jean.
“Tall Boy, you're the tallest guy in this room.” FACT.
I have been working on my recap, it is a hell of an episode to recap. When I got to this line, my question was… is he though? To Google! I am all about my sources.
Scott McNeil is listed at 6′4″. Jordan Connor is listed as 6′2½”. I make the note on my recap that Tall Boy is in fact the tallest guy in the room.
Later that night my dashboard is covered in posts about Sweetpea being tallest, because he is 6′5″. IMBd even has him listed at
6′2½”. Where is this info even coming from? I need sources, inquiring minds want to know. What is the truth? @lilibug–xx pipes in with where the 6′5″ info is coming from.
Jordan answered a question on IG with this reply, the internet goes with Jordan being 6′5″. The problem with this answer is that it’s trolly as shit. Might be the boots? Winky face? Jordan, really? We love you for this but you are NOT helping….
At this point, @stark is fully in this conversation and encouraging me to “Never let stuff go. Use science to disprove it.” and “Yes! Science!’ She definitely encourages my rabbit hole plunges. At one point she suggests pixel measurements. The problem with those is you need to compare something you definitely know the height of. Cole is out because he slouches like a mofo as Jug. That left Vanessa… initially.
I casually mention this conversation to my SO, I’m invested now. I need science to back these findings up, one way or the other. He starts digging too. We, as we tend to do, went totally around the bend. (There is a reason we are engaged after all.) We started comparing heights and photos of other actors and athletes. The Rock is definitely 6′1″ btw, not 6′5″. I digress.
Here is what we know.
Jordan Connor is a trolly smart ass, and for that we love him.
Jordan may or may not be somewhere between 6′2½” and 6′5″.
Cole is 6′.
Vanessa is 5′2¾″
Cole slouches too damn much to use him reliably.
They all normally wear boots or a shoe with a bit of a heel.
The average male head is 9.4″
The average male height from top of shoulder to top of head is 12″.
We started comparing Jordan’s height to Vanessa’s. She appears to on average come about to the tip of his shoulder, give or take. Given that she is about 5′2¾ that would indicate that he is about, give or take 6′3″. But that wasn’t ENOUGH EVIDENCE. We needed more science. and we needed math.
Here is what else we know.
KJ is 5′11″
Photoshop will give pixel measurements.
Sarah is extra AF.
This is where the pixel measurements came in, along with this photo, which we knew had a head to head, standing, Archie and Sweetpea, face off style.
Photoshop time… IN INCHES.
Sweetpea is 2.653″ taller than Archie in the above photo.
Archie’s head is 6.94″.
We divide that to find that the distance between the top of SP’s head and Archie’s head is 38.2% higher than the total height of Archie’s head. 2.652/6.94=.382
We know that the average male head is 9.4 inches, we can use that and Archie’s male head size of 6.94″ as scale.
Solve for x: X/9.4=.382 that comes to 3.59.
THAT means Jordan is 3.59″ taller than a 5′11″ KJ, give or take environmental factors and slight shoe differences.
….JORDAN CONNOR IS (approximately) 6′3″. *DROPS MIC.*
This has been Sarah’s Ted Talk on Jordan Connor’s height. Apologies if hearts may be harmed.
Now, that being said, 6′3″ is still very tall. With his boots, he is still likely coming close to 6′5″, however Riverdale seems to be the land of ass kicking boots. Either way, I’m extra as shit and needed correct information, whatever it was.
6′3″ is not 6′4″ thereby making Tall Boy… Tall Boy. Sweet Pea is not the Tallest Pea. Tall… but not tallest. @stark and I decided that Sweet Pea’s new serpent name is Not The Tallest Pea, Jughead picked it. Newly minted. Not The Tallest Pea hates it, loathes it, still replies because it’s Jughead.
Furthermore, I am a fan of SweetVee, and next to the teeny, tiny, adorable, mini sized 5′2″ Camila (shorter than even Vanessa)…. SP still towers over her. He is a full foot and an inch taller. He can easily rest his head on top of hers. She would only come up to just below his shoulder. He dwarfs her. It’s adorable.
But Tall Boy is the tallest boy in the room. Jughead Jones does not deal in false facts, team. He speaks the TRUTH. *Drops another mic for Jughead*
The gravel crunched beneath Y/N’s sneakers as she made her way across the southside to meet Sweet Pea. She decided that she would cross the old drive-in land to shorten her trip to the Whyte Wyrm.
She climed over a mound of dirt when she heard voices nearing her, “I saw her go this way. She should learn not to leave the side of her serpent boyfriend.”
Her heart began to race, knowing the men were talking about her. She backed up so she was behind a small building, her breath caught in her throat. She dug through her pockets looking for her phone. She yanked it out of her back pocket and dialed the only number that mattered.
“Hey, princess. What’s taking so long?” Sweets asked with sincerity.
“Please come get me. They are getting closer and I don’t know what they are going to do if they find me.” Her voice was quiet, afraid she was going to draw the Ghoulies closer to her.
“Who is getting closer? Y/N where are you?” His body stiffened, alerting Fangs and Toni something was wrong.
“Ghoulies.” She peaked her head around seeing the two men heading toward her. “I’m hiding at the drive-in.”
“Stay hidden, we are on our way.” He hung up the phone motioning with his head for them to follow him. They hopped on their motorcycles and headed towards the drive-in.
“Come out, come out whereever you are.” They taunted her. They inched closer towards the building until the roar of engines grabbed their attention.
Sweet Pea got off the bike, Toni and Fangs following closely behind. Sweet Pea wasted no time and connected his fist into the jaw of one of the Ghoulies, “You are in the wrong territory and now you are going to regret it.” He continued to beat the Ghoulie to a pulp while Toni and Fangs held back his friend, “Now, if I ever catch you over here again, I’ll end you.” The Ghoulies ran in the opposite direction of the drive-in.
Sweet Pea turned and looked over at his friends, “You guys go back to the Whyte Wyrm. I’m going to go grab her and take her home. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
The two muttered their goodbyes and raced back to the Serpent hangout.
“Y/N? It’s Pea. Where are you?” He called out, “Come on, princess.”
She rounded the corner of the building and ran into his arms, “Thank you.”
“Let’s get you home, yeah?” He kissed the top of her head and walked back to his bike, holding onto her hand. He handed her his helmet and climbed on.
Y/N put the helmet on and snaked her arms around his waist, “Let’s go to your place.”
He sped off down Hastings Street, heading for the trailer park. The couple got to the trailer and walked inside. Sweet Pea went to his room and returned with a shirt for Y/N to sleep in, “Here.”
She muttered a thanks and headed towards the bathroom. When she came out, Pea had set up blankets and pillows on the floor in front of the couch; the coffee table had been moved to the side to make room. She smiled, “What’s this?”
He looked up from his spot on the floor, “I thought we could have a movie night, seems how those ghoulies ruined our other plans.” There were drinks and snacks scattered around the blankets and on the coffee table, the main menu for The Lion King was on the tv screen.
“If I’m being honest, I like this a whole lot more than playing pool with Fangs and Toni. No offence.” Y/N plopped down next to him and cuddled into his side.
He pulled her into his lap and wrapped his arms around her, “Me too.” Y/N smashed her lips against his and placed her hands on his cheeks. She pulled back and leaned her head against his, “I love you, Pea.”
He pressed play on the remote, then wrapped a blanket over their bodies, “I love you too, Y/N.”
Joaquin: What? Don’t look at me! Look at Tall Boy!
Tall Boy: What? I didn’t break it!
Joaquin: Huh that’s weird. How’d you even know it was broken?
Tall Boy: Because it’s sitting right in front of us AND IT’S BROKEN.
Tall Boy: No, it’s not.
Joaquin: Well, Toni was the last one to use it.
Toni: Liar, I don’t even drink that crap.
Joaquin: Oh, really? Then what were you doing by the coffee cart earlier?
Toni: I use the wooden stirrers to push back my cuticles! Everyone knows that, Joaquin!
Fangs: Okay, okay, let’s not fight. I broke it, let me pay for it Sweets.
Sweet Pea: No. Who Broke it.
Toni: Sweets, Jughead has been awfully quiet-
Toni: Yeah, really.
Sweet Pea: I broke it. It burned my hand, so i punched it. I predict that ten minutes from now, they’ll be at each other’s throats with war paint on their faces and a pig head on a stick. Good. It was getting a little chummy around here.
Pushing open the doors of the Wyrm, a smell of cigarettes, alcohol, leather and residents of the motorcycles these bikers just rode, filled your nostrills. Correction: the smell of home filled your nose as you stepped inside. These people started to feel like family in such a short period of time and it felt absolutely amazing. You straightened your own leather jacket, making your way over to Toni as she was working on her usual Fridaynight shift. “Hey, you’re here”. Toni smiled as she looked over at you. “Can I get you anything?”. She asked as you slipped on the barstool in front of the counter. “The usual, a Jack & Coke would be perfect”. You returned the smile.
Toni quickly poured the drink for you, a small amount pouring over the edge when she puts two icecubes in your glass. “Cheers”. She lifted her own glass of water and clinked it against yours. An arm curled around your neck and your looked next to you to see Fangs taking a seat. “Hey there”. He grins and you turned your head to look at him, already feeling a bit nervous at the boyish grin on his face, showing that he was up to no good. “Fangs”. You greeted him with a soft sigh, however you couldn’t force the smile back that pulled on the corners of your mouth.
“Didn’t expect you here”. He admitted and took his arm away from you. “Oh”. You let out, not really knowing what else to say about it. You briefly looked over your shoulder to see Sweet Pea at the pool table with Tall Boy and Mustang. Your eyes betrayed you as Fangs’ smirk got wider. “Just noticed you happen to be here when… Oh Sweet Pea’s here too”. He dramatically sighed and you swatted his arm. “Tell me all about it”. He put his head in his hands and is totally ready for you to tell everything about your crush on Sweet Pea. “There’s nothing to talk about”. You nonchalantly mentioned, finding your glass suddenly very interesting.
“Okay, then tell me what you hate about him”. Fangs’ perfect eyebrow cocked upwards and you nibbled on your lower lip. His question was quite a dilemma, there was nothing you hated about the tall Serpent. “W-well…”. You stuttered. “He can be somewhat agressive sometimes”. You quitely finished, even that was someting you didn’t hate at all. “Hmm”. Fangs hummed, studying your face with a childish smirk. “And what do you like about him?”. He moved closer to you in case you wanted only him to know. “Oh”. You softly let out. “He’s so tall and his eyes are stunning. He can listen really good, yet he’s funny and…”.
A blush creeped up your face and blossomed on your cheeks, even brighter than the soft pink blush you hard swirled over your skin with a brush. “You’re so in love with him”. Fangs cooed. “It’s cute”. He added. “You should go up to him and ask him out. I’m sure he’d love to”. You furiously shook your head. “Are you crazy!”. You hissed at him. “I can’t do that, that’s too scary”. You continued with your voice back to a normal volume. “I know how to deal with this. Toni, two shots of tequila please!”. “Fangs”. “Make it four!”. You sighed and rolled your eyes at the Serpent as he patted your leg.
“It’ll help to loosen up and girl, if you’re not asking him out in twenty minutes then I don’t know what to do either”. Fangs laughed and Toni looked at you two with an amused look. “This about Sweet Pea?”. She dared to touch the subject. You waved her away and she knew enough. “He knows too, you know. He’s just being a pain in the ass by playing hard to get”. Toni replied and poured the tequila into the small glasses. You didn’t answer and just waites for the shots to be filled. You and Fangs clinked them together and threw them back. Your face crunched up at the taste, yet you liked the burn in your throat.
“Holy jesus”. You muttered as Fangs shoved the other one your way. “You see that man over there?”. Fangs turned you around in your barstool, pointing at Sweet Pea at the pool table. “Mhm”. You hummed. “That’s your man, now go get him”. You made your way off the stool, feeling confident in the first step, but then you started to think about what you were going to tell to him. “Hey, I was trying to ask you this all night…”. No, absolutely not. “Hi, I’m slightly drunk, but I’d like to get out of here…”. Oh my god no. Your heart began to hammer in your chest and the confidence faded away the more steps you made in Pea’s direction.
Sweet Pea’s dark hues caught yours and you felt like collapsing right on spot. His right eye dropped in a wink and you were sure you couldn’t do it. You shyly waved and took a sharp turn to head to the restroom. Taking a deep breath, you looked at yourself in the mirror, slightly tipsy as your world swayed a bit back and forth. Normally, you enjoyed this state after a couple drinks, but not now. Your hands were sweaty and you had to tell yourself to not be this dramatic. You were simply too shy to ask Sweet Pea out, or even talk to him for longee than a couple minutes. You just had to get over him.
You were sure you’d go straight into a cardiac arrest as Sweet Pea was seated in the chair you just sat on at the bar. Fangs looked over his shoulder at you with a grin. “Hey, Y/N”. His low, barritone voice greeted you and made you weak at the knees. “Hi, Sweet Pea”. You replied softly, almost inaudible. “Take my seat, Y/N. I’m about to smoke outside for a bit”. Fangs took your arm and before you knew it you were sitting next to Sweet Pea at the bar and your friend left you there. “Would you like anything to drink?”. The tall Serpent asked, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows and exposing his arms, the veins running over them.
“Ehm”. You blinked as you had to answer and you had been staring at him for the last twenty seconds already. “Just a beer is fine”. You stammered and he nodded with a smile. Your eyes darted to his face when he turned his head to ask Toni for two beers. His raven hair was gently styled with some gel and the black shirt he wore under his blocked blouse was skin tight and showing off his muscled figure. You woke from your trance as Sweet Pea put the bottle in front of you, making you choke out some words to thank him. “How are you doing? I didn’t see you at school last week”. He started.
You shook your head. “Wasn’t feeling too well”. You explained and he nodded as he understood. “Must’ve gotten the flu somehow”. Sweet Pea’s hand reached out to the underside of your stool, shoving you closer to him. One of your knees was between his, your legs briefly brushing passed each other. Your head was as red as a tomato and you hoped he couldn’t see that in the dim lighted pub. “The hallways are a bit more gloomy when you’re not around”. His lips curled up into a grin when you gasped at his shameless flirting. “O-oh, well. Thank you, I guess”. You replied.
“And you look absolutely stunning tonight, darling”. Sweet Pea’s fingers locked around your jaw, forcing you to look into his eyes. His hot breath fanned over your face and made you have to put your glass down on the bar as your hands were too shaky. “You think so?”. You asked, finding a sudden boost that made you want to know why he suddenly acted like this, why he put his hard to get asshole side away. “Yeah, I do”. Even the nonchalant way he wrapped his hand around the beer bottle and took a swig of it was sexy. “Then why do I have the feeling like you never saw me before?”. You nibbled on your lower lip as he was quiet and bored his eyes into yours.
“You think I never saw you before?”.Sweet Pea asked and your nerves came back, fiddling a bit with the ring around your finger as you nodded. “You’re not the most easy girl to come up to and ask out, because shit, princess, I was too afraid I’d say something wrong or you’d deny my request”. He honestly admitted and you looked at him with shock written all over your face. “W-what?”. You stammered and he nodded with a gentle shrug, his hands wrapping around the back of your knees to pull you even closer to him.”What the fuck, you’re supposed to be the tough guy”. You didn’t really had yourself together on the emotional side of yourself, yet he found it adorable.
Your arms crossed stubbornly over your chest and Sweet Pea’s shoulders slightly shook as he chuckled. “I like to live up to my name sometimes”. “I don’t believe you”. You said, shaking your head again. His dark, chocolate eyes studied your face, his fingers drawing circles on the side of your legs, making your skin heat up beneath the denim of your jeans. “I like how you’re going from all shy to slightly confident and then…”. His fingers tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, which he saw you doing more often. You swallowed hard and the dark blossoms on your cheeks were about to peak through again. “There it is”. Sweets enjoyed your flustered state.
You squealed as you were suddenly lifted into his lap, making your heart race in your chest. You looked around to make sure no one was paying particular interest to you two, yet his eyes were only fixated on you. “And baby girl, I love everything about it”. His lips almost brushed over yours and you weren’t sure if you wanted to throw up because of the nerves that rushed through your bloodstream or smash your lips together. Sweet Pea decided before you could, his palm spreading over the side of your neck and pushing your forward to connect his lips with yours. His other arm curled around you to steady you in his lap.
The kiss was sweet and soft, his tongue gently swiping over your lower lip to make you part your lips to let him deepen the kiss. You weren’t sure what to do with your hands and just placed them on his shoulders. Sweet Pea let out a chuckle as he tasted the tequila on your tongue. He pulled away to look up into your eyes and you slipped out the most adorable giggle he ever heard. “Fangs tried to encourage me a bit to go up to you and talk with you before you came over here”. You admitted. “I know, he told me everything”. You gasped and your eyebrows furrowed together, hiding your face in his chest.
“I thought my secret was safe with him”. You groaned and felt very embarassed as you had rambled about the things you liked about Sweet Pea. “Fangs and tequila has never been the best combination”. He laughed and caressed your cheek. “But if it helps, you’re good at hiding your crush on me, I only started to see things a couple weeks ago”. He added, his laughter dying down, but a smile was still decorating his handsome face. “Hmm, okay”. You hummed, at the moment a bit mesmerized by the Serpent that was inked into his neck. Your fingernails gently moved over the black lines and it caused his heart to skip a beat.
“Are you okay with me taking you home, tucking you in and wishing you a goodnight?”. Sweet Pea asked as he saw your rosy cheeks and halfly hooded eyelids. “Only if I get another kiss”. You blurted out and then clasped your hand over your mouth as you didn’t mean to say that out loud. “You know what? You can even get two”. He smiled and gently let you down on the floor, lacing his fingers through yours to pull you with him to the doors of the Wyrm. Sweets took your coat of the rack and you twirled around so he could hold it up for you. He put his jacket on himself as well and you gladly admired him dressed in the leather.
Sweet Pea led you to his bike, swinging his leg over it to get the engine started and handed you his helmet. You put it on without any protest and climbed on the back of his motorcycle. “Hold on tight, doll”. He told you before driving away, waiting for you to wrap your arms around his waist. You did so and leaned your cheek against his back. This was nice, you could get used to this. He seemed to know the way to your house and drove through the calm streets that were coated in the darkness of the night, only some stars and the moon to light up the sheet of black in the sky. You reached your house way too fast for your feeling and he parked his bike on your porch.
You got off first and unclasped the helmet to give it back. Sweet Pea looked down at you and you were just looking at each other for a moment. He reached out to pull you into his chest, fingers sinking into your hair to kiss you again. Butterflies fluttered around in your stomach as your fingers curled around the lapels of his leather jacket, standing on your tippy toes to kiss him more firm. You gently let go, however his hand on your lower back pulled you back in. “I said you could get two kisses”. Sweet Pea grinned and kissed you again, his hand sliding into the back pocket of your jeans. He pressed some more light kisses to your lips before speaking up.
“Tomorrow night, I’ll pick you up to have something to eat at Pop’s”. Pea stated and you smiled. “Sounds good”. You took a little more distance as you needed to get inside. “Goodnight, babe”. His hands let go of you and you missed being in his arms already. You pulled him down for a last kiss and giggled afterwards. “See you tomorrow, Pea”.
“Damn right you will”. With that boyish smile as you looked at him from over your shoulder as you got into your house.
