Arthur’s eyes stay big, all colour and brightness. They soften more and more and, as Merlin did before, he touches his hand. He soon drops it but for the second the touch lingers it’s true and honest, hot and firm, a measure of warmth passing from one of them to the other.
Summary: Miserable at his inability to perform a Patronus Charm, Merlin sneaks out to the Forbidden Forest to practice. But when a rogue Dementor attacks, he hasn’t a single happy memory to ward it away.
