I had an interesting opportunity to create a series of images for this new (or revamped) branch of the Tsutaya Electrics store located outside Tokyo, Japan. I was asked to illustrate different scenes around the Futako Tamagawa area, from the main streets to the park along the river, and maybe animate parts of them. These are only some of the full series. This project had a really fast turnaround but I’m quite happy with the final product, considering. It was so cool to see photos of my work decorating part of the store–which is huge, and super gorgeous, my work is only a small part! I don’t know how long they’ll be on display, but if you happen to be nearby that part of the world, maybe check them out and enjoy browsing in this cool place!
The clear files from the special Tsutaya collaboration! SUPER gorgeous, loving all this new art. Got a few other things, but trying to figure out how to best photograph them ^_^;; At least I can share some of the art.
Hi! I'm sorry to bother, but I'll be going to japan for the first time soon, and I was wondering if maybe you know where I can buy the DVD's of the stage plays? Is there a specific store I need to buy at or I can just go to any CD/DVD store to purchase?
(copy-pasting from a previous ask)
Animate is an authorized retailer for that DVD, and while there are several locations of Animate stores located around Japan, their storefront in Akihabara has a dedicated 2.5D floor.
Japan, 〒101-0021 東京都千代田区 〒101-0021 外神田 4-3-2
That’s the address for that store you can put into Google Maps. I think one of the Animate stores in Ikebukuro has a 2.5D selection as well but there are multiple Animate stores in that part of town, and I can’t remember which one exactly has it. They should have both the regular DVDs and the Blu-Ray versions available, and my recommendation would be to get the Blu-Ray, not just for the better quality, but also because blu-ray discs are not region-encoded. You should be able to play it on any Blu-Ray player you have at home.
There’s also the 2.5D Cast K-Books storefront (and there are like a dozen K Books within a certain radius in Ikebukuro so if you’re not paying attention you may wander into the wrong one). You risk purchasing them at a marked-up price possibly if stock is low or high-in-demand, but K-Books is worth checking if the Animates are out-of-stock.
