Coco Rocha is featured on the cover and various pages of the June issue of Elle Mexico, another shoot for which she doesn’t have to use her dancing background to showcase the clothing. Instead she is seen slouching and standing in these images, with tousled hair courtesy of hair stylist Stefano Greco. Her stances match the androgynous look of the clothing from designers like Miu Miu, Paul Smith and Dries Van Noten that Natalie Joos put together. Photographer Santiago Ruiseñor captures Coco in a new light, which the model endorses in her statement “This is who I am. Take it or leave it,“ seen printed on the cover in all caps.
As a devout Christian she has strict rules for herself and what sorts of modeling jobs she will take. Whether one is religious or not, Coco offers young aspiring models someone they can look up to—so that they will remain strong in situations where they want to say “No” but feel like they can’t. As a member of The Model Alliance, Coco Rocha has been increasingly open about her believes and the industry so that young girls entering the modeling world may not let others take advantage of their naïveté.
