At 2 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the Lowes Vanderbilt Hotel when a guest identified as White allegedly pulled a fire alarm, forcing the evacuation of the hotel, and destroyed a hotel phone.

When he tried to leave in a taxi, a hotel guest told the driver that police were en route and White allegedly kicked the guest and ran. The guest gave chase and, when White turned around, the two collided. White fell and struck his head on a fence. White appeared intoxicated and refused to sign misdemeanor citations, Nashville police said.

Shaun White Arrested for vandalism, public intoxication.

You know, I think for me to be remembered in this sport, I mean, I don’t really think tonight makes or breaks my career. I mean, I’ve been snowboarding for so long and I love it and it’s given me so much that uhh, you know, I’m happy to take this for what it is and move on and continue to ride and put my best foot forward. So, I guess, I would always like to be remembered as more than just a snowboarder. I mean, I have so much going on in my life and this is one big part of who I am, but I don’t think it’s all that I am. So … so, yeah.” - Shaun White
