A Thing That I Just Now Discovered Annoyed Me:

When people consistently improperly tag things and it’s really obvious.  Like, if it’s a picture of just Lucy Liu on her own and you tag it with not just her name but, like, 5 other people?  I do not understand and it makes me antsy because it’s wrong and I’m a perfectionist.  I just had to unfollow an Elementary blog that I started following yesterday because they apparently post a lot of stuff and I got angrier and angrier the more I saw posts with the first tag in a screencap of Joan tagged “natalie dormer”.  Or may fav one was a gif of Sokka tagged “Irene Adler”.

Just…. no.

HOLD UP

I’m not about to claim that I’m a Bible expert

I’m not about to claim that I fully understand God

I’m not about to claim that God DIDN’T do those things in The Bible

But CHRISTIANITY IS A FAITH based on a TRUST in the GOD that WE BELIEVE is TRUE and SOVEREIGN

The Passover was God helping his people out of slavery after years of being oppressed. He gave the Pharaoh 9 OTHER CHANCES and even when he threatened the lives of each firstborn he still GAVE PHARAOH A CHANCE TO SAVE HIS HOUSEHOLD by marking his door as a sign of understanding God’s sovereignty.

God flooded the Earth because he saw the unrighteousness that plagued mankind. He SAVED NOAH and his ENTIRE FAMILY because they were righteous. And when the flooding was done he PROMISED TO NEVER FLOOD THE EARTH AGAIN (Genesis 9:11)

100% of the Old Testament is about God preparing his people for the COMING of a SAVIOR. It is about God showing mankind how FLAWED they are; how much their own sin leads to inevitable downfalls. It his about him, time and time again, punishing people for unrighteousness to trying to get it in their heads that without a MESSIAH, they will NEVER BE PERFECT

And yes, PEOPLE DIED

but that doesn’t mean that God’s HEART didn’t BREAK for EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM

The ENTIRE BOOK of Hosea is about God telling the people how much it hurts him to see them all suffering because of the heavy burden of sin. He talks of punishing the unrighteous but follows with “How can I give up on you, Ephriam? How can I hand you over, Israel?.. My heart is changed within me; all my compassion is aroused.. I will settle them in their homes” (Passages from Hosea 11:5-11…)

I strongly encourage you to read all of Hosea before you suggest that God does not care about his people (or at least contact me and I’ll summarize it)

And that “public murdering of his own son”

That’s the pivotal moment of it all

That son is the reason Christians find hope in a world that is so BROKEN and full of CHAOS

That son DIED

HE

DIED

FOR

YOU

HE HAD A CHOICE

TO LIVE OR TO DIE

AND HE CHOSE “PUBLIC MURDER”

BECAUSE HE THOUGHT OF YOU AND KNEW

THAT ONE DAY YOU WOULD MESS UP

THAT ONE DAY YOU WOULD FEEL WORTHLESS or BROKEN or SINFUL

AND SO HE DIED

FOR YOU

SO THAT YOU COULD FIND HOPE and REDEMPTION in HIS SACRIFICE

YES God did all those things

YES people died

And maybe you don’t personally believe that God is sovereign, but at least hear it from our side

Christians are not oblivious to the things God has done

But part of Faith is trusting God’s plan and judgement and if you really look at the context of The Bible from our perspective, I think you’ll find that God is nothing short of loving and sovereign.

Feel free to message me with any questions you have about any of this, my ask is always open and I’d love to share more of this with you.

Thank you and I hope you have a lovely day

I don’t know how many of you have heard about this but…

Earlier today there was an attack in my home country, Kenya

A terrorist group went into the mall in the capital city and began firing at adults and children alike

There were people held hostage in the mall for 12 hours

39 were killed and over 150 are injured ((as of right now))

As the death tole rises, I can’t help but feel the need to spread the news

Please keep Kenya in your prayers
