CHINA, SHANTOU : This photo taken on September 22, 2013 shows a man running away from a huge wave pushed up by Typhoon Usagi on a wharf in Shantou, south China’s Guangdong province. Typhoon Usagi killed at least 25 people after crashing ashore in southern China, throwing the region’s transport systems into chaos and leaving tens of thousands of airline passengers stranded in Hong Kong on September 23. Tea packaging for A wisp of tea in Shantou. The design includes small burn holes that show the special process used to dry the tea and enables ventilation. Designed by Shaobin Lin who won a red dot and Pentawards with this packaging design.
Graffiti Art in Shantou. Surprisingly refreshing to see this outside the art space I visited last weekend, which I discovered was created by a small group of artists (graduates from art & design school here), and which is the first and only independent art space in Guangdong province. Pretty neat, huh?
