Opals:- An ancient Aboriginal legend tells the story of how the opal came into being. It is said, that many moons ago, the Creator came down from the heavens on a rainbow, to bring the message of peace to all beings. When his toes touched the Earth, it is believed all of the stones nearby began to sparkle and burst into life, and that was the moment this beautiful cystal came into existence.

i want a book (encyclopedia?) on crystals that doesn’t solely revolve around healing. i want a book that can help me identify crystals, stones, and gems. something that can teach me about how the rock was made. crystal healing is cool and all but thats not what im looking for. if anyone knows of a book like that then can yall tell me?

Rainbow Obsidian is a form of volcanic glass and occurs in a variety of colors. In addition to carrying the generic properties of Obsidian, Rainbow Obsidian is one of the gentler Obsidians. This stone has strong protective properties and teaches you about the evolution of your spiritual nature. Capable of cutting the cords of old love, it gently releases hooks that former loves have left in your heart, replenishing the heart energy. When worn as a pendant, this stone absorbs negative energy from the aura and draws off stress from the body. It can also be used to facilitate past-life healing and to gain insight into how the past affects the present, especially at the level of health and well-being.

Watermelon tourmaline - Watermelon tourmaline is a rare stone with gentle healing capabilities. This crystal promotes calm, patience, diplomacy and security. It alleviates emotional dysfunction, nerve problems, stress, depression, and fear.

If you don’t know already I like to collect rough cut minerals and semi precious stones. Here’s all the ones I have so far, left to right, top to bottom.

Agate Geode, Chalcopyrite, Bismuth, Orange Calcite, Pyrite cube form, Green Calcite..

Pyrite, Slag, Green and pale orange calcite, quartz samples, Amethyst, and I have no idea. Topaz? I had it for so long I can’t remember what it is!

I live in PA right in Iron smelting country so Slag is glassy-like materials that result in smelting Iron ore. I found it in a stream a while ago <3
