I love these photos from Variety of some of the winners at the Screen Actor’s Guild because they really capture the imperfect, emotional moment of victory – when confidence, talent, hard work and gratitude come together. Congratulations to Queen Latifah, Viola Davis, Uza Aduba and the cast of Orange Is The New Black. There is nothing better professionally than being recognized by your peers.
Like a passionate love-scene (made ever-so-slightly less romantic by the approximately 400 crew members watching you faux get it on), Hollywood is wildly, deeply in the throes of the 2014 awards season. With little over a month to go until the night of nights with the Academy Awards, the red carpet was heating up today with frock after spectacular frock for the Screen Actor’s Guild Awards.
The SAGs, as they are affectionately known, are held in particular esteem in the world of film and television as they are the awards as voted on by peers. It’s one thing to be recognised by the people or the Academy, but for actors to be given the nod by their ilk adds to the chuff of a little gold statuette.
Here are some of the prettiest gowns that adorned some of Hollywood’s favourites:
