You people could have shown more respect, treated me better, asked for knowledge or guidance more, treated me more like a senior and maybe I wouldn’t have been as ready to tear your fucking heads off. Then again, I have always hated how I looked, I make fun of people who look like me, Sometimes without even thinking. Sometimes just because I want to rip on myself. That’s where a lot of my hate grows from.”

A heroic teacher stopped a school shooting from happening this morning

A high school teacher is being called a hero after the brave actions he took to stop a gunman at North Thurston High School in Lacey, Washington, on Monday morning. Shots were first reported by students on Twitter around 10:30 a.m. At least two shots were heard in the school. Brady Olson, who teaches AP government, then sprung into action and risked his life in the process.

“The first thing I thought is, `Eric and Dylan, why did you do this?’ But also something ran through saying, `You guys finally did it. You did something”.

Erik Veik - A friend Of Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold

As some of you may know, I go to college at Ohio state university. As some of you may have heard, there was a school shooting this morning.

So I guess the place to start is saying I’m safe. Luckily, I didn’t have a class this morning so I was in my dorm when the shooting occurred. The shooting took place right outside my dorm. I woke up to the sound of gun shots, and this email.

Apparently, one guy went in the building and pulled the fire alarm, and when everyone evacuated the shooter drove his car through the crowd, got out and started slashing at people with a machete, and then pulled out a gun. 9 people are hospitalized, thankfully only 1 in critical condition. This is a first hand account from someone there.

The shooter was killed. This is the view from my dorm window. It’s grainy, but you can see a dead body on the a white sheet surrounded by cones.

My friend was in a classroom directly across from the shooting. this is from his snapchat.

Police are still looking for the second accomplice. I haven’t left my dorm. I still have friends locked in their classrooms. This shouldn’t happen.

“Soon, Eric and Dylan would kill themselves in the library, denying any of us the chance to question them. I’d never be able to sit down across from the guy I used to throw snowballs at in elementary school and ask him why he had wanted to kill all those people who had done him no wrong whatsoever.

The hell that Eric and Dylan would create at my high school that day would go on to haunt their families, the families of the victims, and parents and students throughout our community and the world. It would destroy my life, as comments from the sheriff would lead to accusations that I was somehow involved in the plot.

Worst of all, it left me struggling with the knowledge that not only were my classmates dead, they had been murdered by one friend I’d known since childhood —– and another who had let me walk away only a few minutes beforehand. And I would never be able to ask them why.”

Audio recordings of various school or university shooters. Note: Elliot Rodger isn’t necessarily a school/university shooter, as his attack was only on the campus, and three of his victims were stabbed to death, not shot.  Still fits into the theme, in my opinion.

In chronological order: Kip Kinkel (1998) - Dylan Klebold (†1999) - Eric Harris (†1999) - Seung-hui Cho (†2007) - Pekka-Eric Auvinen (†2007) - TJ Lane (2012) - Adam Lanza (†2012) - Elliot Rodger (†2014) - Dylann Roof (2015)

Sandy Hook Promise is a nonprofit organisation developed by the family members of victims and survivors of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, in which 20-year-old Adam Lanza shot and killed 20 children aged between six and seven-years-old. He also killed six staff members, his mother, and then himself.

This PSA titled “Evan” was released by Sandy Hook Promise. It cleverly shows how very easy it is to miss the warning signs that somebody could be planning a mass shooting. It promotes the Sandy Hook Promise “Know the Signs” programmes which they run free of charge. They’re intended to teach parents and teachers how to identify if somebody needs help.
