Scenes From Recording

I’m not sure if it’s just a coincidence or if it was planned, but I think it’s worth noting that real Ciel’s first appearance in the manga was this scene from Madam Red’s cinematic record in chapter 10

which was published in the GFantasy magazine July issue 2007, back in June 2007:

[*It’s interesting that “Kuroshitsuji” is not even mentioned in this cover from 10 years ago. It reminds us that back then Yana was just a 23-year-old newbie manga artist and that Kuro was originally supposed to be a short-run series.]

Exactly 10 years later

real Ciel’s existence was finally revealed in ch129

in the GFantasy magazine July issue 2017, published in June 2017:

10 years… _(:3」∠)_

[Putting 2CT aside, it’s also incredible how Yana has grown from a newbie manga artist to one of the most successful and popular female manga artists in the world over the last decade.]

A gif-tastic update of this old post o’ mine

Victoria Vincent is an animator-illustrator who creates worlds we wish we could live in. Her style and humor are unique and personal, and we can’t get enough of it. Also, we would love that cat to cut our hair.

You know what REALLY grinds my gears in the Netflix Daredevil series? Theres a lot of things but one little line drives me up the walls.

When Karen asks Matt if he wishes he could still see he says some really poignant stuff about accepting yourself as a whole person and then SHOVES all that aside.

And says he wishes he could see the sky again.

The. Sky.

So not only did they get close to an important, poignant counter to ableist culture, they sailed right past it and picked the most BANAL thing I can conceive of. The sky is just… blue.

Like maybe the night sky if he lived in like… rural New Mexico. I’ve heard that is a sublime experience in the romantic sense.

But Matt has lived in fucking hell’s kitchen all his life. What in the name of all that is good is in the sky that he’d want to see badly???

There was so much he could have said. What would Matt Murdock want to see again?

Great question right?

Yeah the folks behind the 2012 comic thought so too.

Theres a machine in issue 17 that briefly lets Matt watch a tape Foggy got ahold of. It was a tape of Jack Murdock’s winning match.

Foggy nearly DIED getting this chance for him because he believed it would mean THAT much to Matt.

There’s a fair share of ableism here, but AT LEAST it was a relevant moment of character development. What he saw was chosen with care. It strengthens what Matt’s dead meant to him and HOW he got to see it was part of Matt and Foggy’s relationship as law partners maturing. And you know… it was an opportunity Matt just sort of agreed to. Rather than sitting on a couch being sad about not seeing the sky.

I guess what I’m trying to say is… assuming anyone with a disability would have a deep pining for that ability is pretty damn ableist.

Assuming that a person with a disability would want to be rid of that disability just to see something mind-numbingly banal reveals the absurd amount of value you place on your quality of life over theirs.

I just really fucking hate that line.

starlight-ciel  asked:

So since the writing on the wall is allegedly suppose to mean ciel took his brother's ring from his stomach, how did the ring ever end up there in the first place ?

Not only the writing on the wall is suggesting that, there’s also this panel from chapter 65 where our Ciel is holding the ring and it’s quite bloody:

And then there’s this scene from Sebastian’s Cinematic Record back when Grell cut him with the Death Scythe in the Jack the Ripper arc:

And now with that writing on the wall and with the 2CT becoming more and more likely it could indeed mean that our Ciel ordered Sebastian to get the ring from the twin’s stomach.

That means the twin must have swallowed the ring. I saw suggestions that the twin swallowed it right before being kidnapped during the fire at the manor in order to hide it from the kidnappers. But I really doubt the ring would have stayed for so long in his stomach. The brothers were with that cult for one month before Sebastian was summoned, after all. Also, the cultists seemed to be quite sure about the boys’ identity…

…so maybe they knew because of the ring. So I think the twin swallowed the ring only shortly before he was being taken by the cultists as sacrifice. Either he hid the ring before (which is unlikely since the cultists may have identified them because of the ring) or the cultists took the ring at first but the twin somehow got it back and then swallowed it so they wouldn’t be able to take it again.

And when the twin was ‘killed’ and our Ciel made the contract with Sebastian our Ciel took the ring for himself.

Okay but guys you really don’t know how big of a deal this is because we’re seeing Mickey from the side and you see his ears? WE SEE BOTH OF THEM CLEARLY FROM THE SIDE!!! LIKE IN THE CARTOONS!!!! I’m so happy about this because this technology has existed for 6 whole years now and I’ve wanted to see it in a Kingdom Hearts game! Where have I seen it before, and why is this so huge?

This is behind-the-scenes footage from Epic Mickey, recorded 6 years ago, and look!

Do you not see this?! This is a Classic Mickey rendered in 3D!!! On the Nintendo Wii!!! And all while playing the game Epic Mickey if you so much as turn Mickey to the side his ears follow the motion!!!

Sure, this is just a Disney-nerd thing but for me even little details like this are huge and I’m so glad they’re starting to do this with Kingdom Hearts!!!

If you find yourself in a situation that’s too dangerous, its okay if you just come back.
