SO-SUNNY

Hi everybody,

On September 17th 1993, I was born. Ten days ago, I celebrated my 23rd birthday. I went back to my parents’ house for the weekend and had a lovely time. Technically, it is autumn here in the Netherlands, but the weather is still so warm and sunny!

When I woke up, I put my hair in a top knot, pulled on a old shirt from my dad and baked a cake in the kitchen, with the music on loud. Dancing to the tunes and making an amazing cake does wonders for your spirit! Lots of friends and family members sent nice messages to congratulate me.

When the cake was in the fridge, me and parents decided to take a nice long hike at a nature park, some 40 minutes from our home. My brother had to work, so that worked out nicely, because he isn’t interested in hiking. We packed a lunch, changed into our workout gear, got the dog, and off we went! See pictures below for a nice impression of our hike.

As you can see, it was a bit overcast, but the view was still spectacular! The hike was a nice mix of hilly meadows, forests and sunny fields. It was really nice to be out just with my parents, because I don’t live at home anymore. Bonus point to my dog for drinking out of a water bottle!

Back home, we all freshened up and chilled for a while. We then went out to a classy place in town for drinks and appetizers. The four of us, my brother had joined us by this time, had a lot of laughs and good talks. We then went home for a home cooked meal – this was my choice: as a vegetarian it is sometimes a bit of a disappointment when you eat out, especially in a little city with not a lot of places to go.

After dinner we had the cake I made that morning and I could finally unwrap my presents! I got a beautiful necklace from my parents, some nice herbal teas, a scented candle from my brother – which smells absolutely amazing – and some other bits and bobs.

The best present was the cookbook by Niomi Smart, which I was really excited about!

All in all, I had a really good day. I can’t wait to find out what this year will bring me!

Thanks for reading,

Anne.

Monday 8:27am
I woke up with you on my mind.
You called me babe last night —
my heart is still pounding.

Tuesday 10:53pm
Today I realized we won’t work.
What we are is hurting her.
And I think she matters more to me than you do.

Wednesday 11:52pm
I broke things off with you today.
She barely said a word.
I’ve never regretted anything more than this.

Thursday 4:03pm
I shouldn’t have sent that message.
You shouldn’t have been so okay with receiving it.

Friday 9:57pm
I almost messaged you today.
I didn’t.

Saturday 8:49pm
I’m walking around town in search of alcohol.
They say that liquor numbs the pain of having a broken heart.
I want to put that to the test.

Sunday 2:32am
I heard you texted a girl you’ve never spoken to before.
I wonder if it’s because you’re trying to replace me.
I can’t help but wish you weren’t.
I thought I was irreplaceable.

but like lily evans is so important??? she was a muggle born who became a prefect in a time when voldemort came of power. dumbledore made her head girl, essentially the highest standing a student can have, at a time when blood prejudice was rampant. it must have been dangerous as hell - i wouldn’t be surprised if people like bellatrix harassed or even occasionally attacked her. and then, lily goes on to date a pureblood. even though he was a blood traitor, there was still some sentiment that people like him were just dirtying themselves by associating with people like her. and i bet you lily took it in stride. if someone brought it up, she’d be like, “if anything, he doesn’t deserve me,” and stalk off and james would just kinda nod like “yeah tbh it’s true”. and then, to top it all off, homegirl goes and joins an organization dedicated to fighting voldemort, as if her life isn’t already in danger at every moment. basically, lily evans was metal as fuck and deserves your respect
