so did i ever tell you guys the story of how a reylo attacked me?

it was a beautiful summer evening, i was on my way home from my local market when this 40 year old got on the bus with her 3 kids and sat down next to me.

i noticed her staring at my “finn is the male lead fuck kylo ren” shirt.

suddenly she started yelling “are you a fucking anti?”. the whole bus was looking at us. “yeah” i replied. that’s when she started kicking and hitting me but then all of her kids said “mom…reylo is a shitty abusive ship that doesn’t make any sense whatsoever and you should probably delete your tumblr and stop arguing with teenagers online.” she broke down in tears.

i almost felt bad for her but then john boyega showed up, bought me a sandwich and told me he loves antis. anyways, later that night daisy ridley rawed me in a denny’s parking lot and everyone clapped.

real talk people want so badly to believe that jopseh just has internalized homophobia and that hes only staying with his wife to hide his sexuality when there are multiple people aware that he’s bisexual (robert, mary, and probably more).

joseph lied to you when he got you to sleep with him on his yacht. he told you that he and mary were through which we know wasnt the case because mary was suspicious of you hanging out with her husband when you walk her home from the bar on josephs route. the entire route, he is manipulating your character into believing that he and his wife have issues for just the reason of them not working well together when in reality she’s developed depression and resorted to alcoholism because he is consistently cheating on her with other people. we don’t even know if its exclusively men.

we just know that he’s been doing this for a long time; pampering people and treating them special so he can get into bed with them once and never talk to them again. he tries to make it seem like robert sleeps around like its no big deal all the time and while you do have the option to sleep with robert on the first night, he makes sure you’re okay with it and if you do he doesnt contact you, again. why? because he doesnt like drunken one-night-stands. he was expecting for you to show some kind of interest in sticking around with him when he told you to leave but we didn’t get any dialogue options for it so he just assumes that you were there just for the one-nighter.

and this probably have something to do with joseph cheating on his wife with robert after pampering him and treating him with way too much kindness. hell, he even let robert wear the blue sweater that joseph always has around his neck, that was the sweater referenced in the old picture with all the dads. joseph was manipulating robert, making it seem like it wasnt his fault that his relationship with his wife was bad. and then? he takes him to his yacht and fucks him under the guise that him and his wife are through.

thats why robert, after you do two dates with him, shows up at the beginning of josephs third date to try and warn you. he doesnt want you to get hurt like he has, but robert definitely has some trouble being verbal and explaining what he means and lets his anger get the best of him. they want you to think the marriage troubles are all mary’s fault until you start getting to know mary through the other routes. shes a good woman who has never once outright cheated on joseph. she flirts and drinks to cope with his infidelity.

the way joseph acts from the getgo is some pretty shady behavior so i personally wasnt really surprised to find out how much of a dick he really is. what surprised me is that the writers wrote a very real kind of person into this ‘lighthearted’ dating simulator. josephs abusive and manipulative behavior is an incredibly real thing that happens every day, this game is trying to show you how to identify it before it gets too far or you do something you regret.

theyre not saying ‘gay/bisexual men are unfaithful!’ or ‘christians are going to hurt and abuse you!’ theyre saying ‘some people actually do this and theyre abusive as hell if youre in this situation or feel someone might be trying to do this to you, get out’

mary doesnt leave him for reasons that were never written into the story. probably because she doesnt want to put her kids through a divorce so early in their lives.

basically joseph being an abusive and manipulative partner has nothing to do with his sexuality or religion. he’s just written to be an absolute cock.

What really annoys me though is this:

S6 Sansa tells Jon that there is no saving Rickon because if he’s with Ramsay then he’s already dead. We, the audience, literally have seen evidence to back this up.

Anti’s: Sansa is so heartless! That’s her brother! How dare she! What a cold-hearted bitch!

S6 conclusion: Sansa was right. Ramsay never had any intention of freeing Rickon.

Anti’s: ……. Whatever. At least Jon tried to do something.

S7 Sansa tells Jon that he needs to punish the houses that have betrayed House Stark, the houses that were literally complicit in capturing Rickon and abetting in his consequent murder. They didn’t just fight with Ramsay and did nothing while Sansa was being tortured and abused; Smalljon Umber captured Rickon and handed him to Ramsay. And Sansa wants to punish them, not by murdering Alys Karstark and Ned Umber, but by stripping them of titles and land. They would probably then become wards of another house as Theon was once a ward of Ned Stark’s as punishment for the Greyjoy’s rebellion against the Iron Throne.

Anti’s: Wow, Sansa is such a conniving bitch! She just wants the throne for herself! Look at her, she wants to punish these kids. She’s so heartless! She’s going to betray Jon!

In comparison:

S7 Arya literally murders all of the Freys as punishment for being complicit in the killing of Robb, Talisa and Catelyn.

Same Sansa Anti’s: Oh my god, go Arya! She’s so badass! She was totally in the right! Woohoo! Vengeance!

The hypocrisy is strong in the Anti-Sansa fandom.

A "Nymphet" Reminder

It’s okay to have a Nymphet aesthetic but remember …
—————————————————————– •Do not romanticize Lolita, Pedophilia is not cute
•if you’re under 18.. You’re not “sexually mature” for your age. You’re a kid
•Lolita is not a kink. She was an abused child
•Don’t combine Nymphet aesthetic with DD/LG
•Do not go after older men until you’re 18
•Stay away from suspicious blogs
•You don’t have to be stereotypically “small” like I said it’s just an aesthetic.
•If you have a “Teacher Crush” do not intrude in their lives. They probably have a wife and kids.
•You don’t have to be a fan of Lana Del Rey
•Pedophiles are not welcome on Nymphet Blogs

~{Remember, as long as you follow this, don’t let people judge you for your aesthetic}~

I want to talk about Dennis from Split.

So, I’m about to throw all this information at you but I need to get this out somehow!

There is this part in the movie where Dennis is acting as Barry (the second time I believe) he confirms that Dennis and Patricia are not allowed to have the light because they “are unstable”. This makes me SO sad for many reasons. First of all, I fell like all the alters want to protect Kevin- especially Dennis. He says he was there from the beginning and his main purpose was to keep Kevin’s mom from getting upset BUT he is also the strongest and the “biggest” (he says himself and we see multiple times how strong he is) I didn’t understand why he needed to have OCD and be strong at the same time but it all made sense when he said he was there from the beginning.

I’m pretty positive that Dennis is the one who had to take on the physical punishments instead of Kevin. He mentions that Kevin is weak and I feel like he says this coming from someone who has had to step in for Kevin a lot. How would he know that unless he’s had to take over and deal with the pain for him? It’s just a hunch but I feel like it makes sense. Dr. Fletcher knows that Dennis was there to keep their mother from getting upset only because Barry (and the other alters too probably) have told her that. He had a purpose at one point, but now because the mother is completely out of the picture and they are grown THEY DON’T NEED HIM ANYMORE SO HE WAS JUST CAST ASIDE AND THIS JUST MAKES ME SO SAD. So, he is considered unstable because of his irrational behavior but, it wasn’t always so irrational.

Also, in Barry’s video diary he says that Dennis and Patricia are obsessed with “the ones who haven’t suffered” and at first we assume it’s everyone else (like the girls Dennis kidnaps) BUT what is they were talking about the rest of the alters?? Patricia and Dennis are the only ones who talk about the beast and I this connects to the idea that Dennis and Patrica have suffered somehow in the ways the other alters have not. The other alters are fairly happy and capable people (from what we have seen so far). This might prove that Dennis did deal with a lot of the abuse that Kevin did. He suffered in ways the other alters did not. They see more connected to the loss of Kevin’s father too. Dennis goes to get flowers, Patrica thanks him for it, they leave flowers at the train station.

I’m not entirely sure how Patrica might have suffered but I do feel like she is the mother figure Kevin never had. You know, with the hair brushing and lunch making etc (LOL Hedwig.) Mother figures probably have a deep hold of Dennis because of the abuse, Patrica even says “he listens to me”. Hedwig is a kid who isn’t accepted, they probably treat him like the runt of litter, but I haven’t really considered his place amongst the other alters yet (probably and outcast because of his age) but I feel like he is representative of the childhood Kevin never got to have.

Even though it’s kind of a lot to assume off of nothing, I THINK DENNIS WAS THE ORIGNAL ALTER. It is really interesting to consider him from this perspective. Which is sad that the other alters kind of cast him aside.

SORRY I totally didn’t mean to write a whole essay but I just got to thinking about Dennis and movie and I couldn’t get it out of my head.

Tell me what you guys think!

Me: I love Ochako Uraraka so much, she’s so soft and sweet and-

Ochako Uraraka: *Has fought an asshole that can make explosions out of his sweat without a single hint of fear or hesitation and with every intention of winning. And the plan she came up with in order to win involved letting the aforementioned asshole make a bunch of debris with his explosions so she could drop it on his head. And the only reason she lost was because she collapsed from exhaustion.*

Me: -gentle and she wouldn’t hurt a fly-

Ochako Uraraka: *Has faced off against a psychotic serial killer with no time to prepare and no warning and with only one other person to help her and came out of the encounter relatively unscathed apart from a single stab to her thigh. And that was after she had technically already beaten the aforementioned psycho by slamming her face on the floor with a martial arts move in about half a minute.*

Me: -and she has so much love for her family and-

Ochako Uraraka: *Her goal in becoming a hero is to make enough money to help her parents’ construction company that is facing major financial trouble. To that end she also goes to extreme lengths to save money which include living close to her school so she won’t have to use the bus, only buying the most cheap foods she can find, sleeping any chance she gets, and even starving herself.*

Me: -her relationship with her friends and her class in general is SO GOOD AND LOVELY and-

Ochako Uraraka: *Works herself to the bone in her studies and training along side her classmates and has excellent teamwork even with students she doesn’t interact with too often. Also her sending Kurogiri, an adult villain who made it very clear that his and his groups’ intention was to kill everyone present, flying during the USJ incident so Iida could run away and get help probably saved everyone’s lives.*

Me: -her relationship with Izuku is the best thing ever, its so wholesome and pure and-

Ochako Uraraka: *Stopped some random kid she didn’t know from falling on his face for seemingly no reason other than being nice, later saved his life by making him float before he broke his neck on the ground even though the strain it put on her quirk made her vomit, tried to help him pass because she thought he might have failed because he saved her even though it could have hurt her chances, and then turned an abusive childhood insult into an affectionate nickname with just a few kind words and minimal-to-no knowledge of his history. All of this happening over the course of less than THREE DAYS OF GETTING TO KNOW HIM.*

Me: -seriously she loves him so much its so good-

Ochako Uraraka: *Realizes she has feelings for her friend in the middle of a very important and intense exam, and instead of panicking she get her shit together, pushes her feeling down so she can focus, and passes with flying colors, because she is AWESOME.*

Me: -also she sleeps with mittens so she doesn’t make herself float in her sleep how adorable is that?

Ochako Uraraka: *Is the best.*

Why Rebirth’s Stephanie Brown isn’t the Same as Preboot Stephanie Brown

Hi I’ve got opinions about how the reboot has been handling my girl.

I’ve been enjoying Detective Comics for the most part, but I’ve been frustrated with Stephanie Brown’s role in them for a while. And I think I’ve finally put my finger on it.

Special thanks to @renaroo for all her help finding panels and issue numbers!

Below the cut is 2k of screaming and panels.

Okay but this scene makes me extra emotional because

  • Bobby clearly loves his family even though he knows they’re plagued with problems
  • Bobby probably straightened out/grew out of his fuckboy ways/joined the force because he had a family to look after
  • Remember when I hated Bobby in seasons one and two because he treated Shelly like shit??? But then season three episode eleven fucking happened and it made me realize that Bobby grew the fuck up and became a better man for her and their daughter bECAUSE HE FUCKIGN LOVES SHELLY THAT FUCKING MUCH WOW
  • Becky’s turbulent relationship with Steve reminds him of Shelly and her shitty marriage with Leo, and it breaks his heart to see the cycle of abuse repeating itself through his daughter
  • Just……..the way he looks at them when they embrace????? They’re his girls and they mean the world to him?????? My heart aches???? I’m so sAD??? HE JUST WANTS TO SEE HIS FAMILY BACK TOGETHER AND HAPPY
  • And even though they’re separated it’s clear Bobby still cares for Shelly like did you see how heartbroken he looked when she ran off with Red????? And the way he and Becky exchanged looks like his own kid knows that he still loves her
    • That being said I couldn’t tell if he knew that Red is a bad dude but if he does that makes me even sadder because that would mean Bobby grew up and improved himself for her, only for her to fall back into her old ways - and it probably hurts him so much to see that she’s still trapped in a cycle of abuse and he can’t do anything about it and ugh wow I didn’t think I’d end up loving Bobby so much BUT HERE WE ARE
  • Someone please protect Bobby Briggs he deserves to be happy

What she says: I’m fine.

What she means: Joseph Christiansen deserves so much better than the fandom boiling him down to an unfinished and cut “cult ending.” His Good Ending was the most real and human of all the other dads’. Not every love story is running off into the sunset with your soulmate. Sometimes feelings are grungy and hard to slog through and harder to make sense of. Long standing relationships are difficult to break out of–to try to convince yourself you “don’t” love this person you’ve been with for years when you so obviously do–and that goes double if it’s an abusive relationship on top of that. I mean, at some point he had to love Mary because he married her so, yes, he probably still loves her. And they have four kids together! I don’t imagine it’s easy to drop the Mother of Your Children. Ugh. Joseph Christiansen deserves more love and support not demonizing.

anonymous asked:

Joseph is actively abusive but alright whatever I guess

Actively abusive…? What makes you think he’s actively abusive?

For starters, he’s an excellent parent. Since Mary couldn’t give a shit about her kids, he seems to be raising them on his own while simultaneously holding down a job to support his family, and he clearly loves and pampers those children. The worst thing he’s done is let his older kids play in the woods nearby the playground while he was sitting there with them.

He also isn’t abusive towards his wife. Even when she’s sloshed (which is nearly 24/7) and being rude as hell to him and other people (and their kids,) he’s nice. The worst he’s done is asked her to stop talking and find their toddler that she lost when she was being extremely crude at the cookout. She also hits on other men without a second thought. Sometimes in front of him, if I remember correctly. And he doesn’t mention it.

And then there’s Robert. They had a fling, probably a year or two ago. Even if they were drunk, of which they probably were, I’m assuming both of them consented to that. It sounds like Joseph led him on, but Robert was willingly having sex with a married man who has children. That same married man is the husband of his best friend. The best friend of who he watches flirt with other men on a nightly basis. And says nothing to.

And to the MC, I really wouldn’t classify his behavior as abusive. Yes, he was courting you while still married–but neither him nor Mary wear their wedding rings outside of events where they’ll be seen together–but his wife was also flirting with people on the side. He was aware of that, and she was, too. Hell, she knew he knew, and she also knew that you were messing around with Joseph. She didn’t seem terribly bothered by it. And in both endings? He clearly had second thoughts after the boat scene. Up until then, he was planning on staying with the MC, but he backed out for the sake of his kids.

So yeah, he’s done some questionable things. Were all of them right? No. Were they technically abusive? No.

while i dont think joseph and mary should have stayed together (primarily because joseph is written to be a serial cheater and using the fact that mary wont or even cant properly stand up for herself to him and also mary clearly having gotten over the idea of having children, assuming she wanted any in the first place. i personally feel like joseph was lying to you when he said ‘heeeyy me and mary are through lets fuck’ because he didn’t even hesitate or even take time to let himself recuperate), theyre most definitely staying together for the sake of the children. a divorce can really hit one kid hard, let alone four.

now had joseph and mary really decided to stay apart for a while and joseph stay on his yacht, if mary were really abusing her children do you really really really think joseph would have left them all in mary’s care? why wouldn’t he insist she go stay at a hotel or with her parents or take them to his yacht himself? why would he leave the ‘abusive mother’ in charge of four children?

probably because, again, we were manipulated in game and out of game to believe that mary was a bad parent and wife. just because she chooses not to go find crish at the bbq really doesnt mean anything. she had 3 kids prior and i feel like she would know what shes doing by now in terms of having a toddler. everyone wants to accuse her of being a bad mother for not finding her toddler when its actually extremely normal for parents with 3 children to be aware of what the youngest will end up doing because having kids is a learning experience.

now is that a correct attitude to have? not necessarily but mary seems to know her children fairly well. she knows what the twins can and cant handle (ie; she knows they love horror movies, it’s not common but there are quite a few children who find a keen adoration for horror flicks at a young age), she knows that chris isn’t very outspoken (because he’s autistic), and she knows crish can survive for more than 5 minutes without getting into serious trouble (bcause she’s had to deal with 3 other toddlers).

the only times we really see joseph with any of the kids is with christie and they’re being happy and close. chris we can’t really gauge his opinion of either of his parents, and christian just bails at any chance he can get. christie seems to love her father, most likely her mother too. the kids arent aware they have marital issues because joseph and mary keep that private. they don’t want the kids to worry about their relationship.

mary doesn’t cheat, she just flirts because she likes seeing younger men uncomfortable. it’s funny to her and when a guy seems to want to take her up on her offer, she’s fully aware that he’ll back out when she starts getting weird about it which is why she says “don’t make checks your dick cant cash” she knows hes bluffing because its mary, she’s smarter than we’re led to believe.

joseph on the other hand, we are fully aware of two accounts that he cheated. robert and mc. had it been one time, i feel like mary wouldn’t hold much malice, especially considering she becomes close with robert. but somewhere in the middle of joseph sleeping with robert and mc moving to maplebay, joseph does it a second time, possibly a third if the timeframe allows it. now i feel like joseph started pursuing a sexual relationship with robert after roberts wife died and his daughter left because he knew robert was emotionally compromised but i covered that in a different post. but joseph knowing to go for someone emotionally compromised leads me to believe robert wasnt his first offense.

mary easily becomes friends with robert and i wouldn’t doubt it if she becomes friends easier with people she can bitch about joseph with. so quite possibly, joseph slept with several people that mary is now friends with (maybe not damien, that’d be a stretch. possibly neil, though. robert and mary seem to adore neil). that’s probably why mary is so upset with him. joseph thinks his cheating his completely to himself and the people he slept with when mary is waiting for him to admit it because every person he’s slept with has come to her and told her about it with the same story of “he took me to his yacht, told me you two were through, and then fucked me.” this feels slightly more reinforced to me since if i remember correctly, when examining the bedroom of the yacht, mc mentions how the decor is older in style.

mary should most certainly stand up for herself and call joseph out on her bullshit, just letting it happen isn’t healthy for herself or her family especially since joseph is part of the cause for her drinking problem at this point. but she cant, she wants to be able to wait for her kids to be old enough to understand their reasoning. joseph knows from the outside it looks like they have marital problems so he uses it to his advantage which only causes more and more problems. when it comes to joseph? mary is a pushover because she loves him but she’s so tired of all the lies. there is no doubt in my mind that joseph loves mary too, but the way he’s using her as a ploy to get laid is absolutely inexcusable.

its deeper than just “THEY HAVE ISSUES THEY NEED TO BREAK UP RIGHT NOW (and joseph needs to date my dadsona *heavy breathing*)” because when you take into consideration how they interact with the kids, how much each of them are fucking up, how old the kids are, how much time and money and custody issues it would take especially since at least one of them are most definitely in school and probably already has issues in his classes; a divorce isn’t doable. i get it, everyone only wants the best for these fictional characters, but not every abusive relationship is just like “let me snap my fingers and just leave haha! it couldn’t negatively effect anyone!”

i get how this can seem like im in favor of one character or the other, but i actually genuinely love both mary and joseph very much. they’re two of my favorite characters in the whole game and i’m only doing what i can to understand their situation.

crazy theory that actually works?

michelle is… heimdall’s demigod daughter. why do you think MJ is so observant and knows all about peter and knows he is spiderman. she probably doesn’t know how to control her powers unless it focused on a specific person, so why not focus on the kid she may like who has been disappearing a lot since freshman year? the theory also works with her coming from an abusive/single-parent home/ nobody coming to pick her up from the washington trip? any thoughts?

A random assortment of KND headcanons;

  • Numbuh 20, 000 was rescued from an abusive home, which is why he’s so desperate to do whatever he has to. He wants to be remembered- an idol to the other kids rescued. Show that bad beginnings don’t stop you from being good people
  • It’s very well likely that Cree has absolutely no idea what’s going on between Abby and Nigel. Numbuh 5 refused leadership because of Numbuh 1 losing his hair, which points to her leading at the time. Cree was probably off on some solo mission that left her in charge. She wouldn’t want to incriminate her sister with hacking Numbuh 1 in, either, so she certainly doesn’t know about that.
  • Soopreme Leaduhs are required to spend at least most of their time at the Moon Base. Rachel sometimes isn’t seen on Earth for days.
  • Operatives can be implanted with a tracking device, should they so choose, in order to help be located by search teams if they fall off a hill and break a leg or something.
  • Likewise, the KND sports a ‘tattoo parlor’ (crayons that never wash off) for operatives to use, so long as all markers are kept out of the obvious areas. This is a way of warning future kids that they’re fully capable, even with no memories.
  • Medics aren’t allowed to use medical supplies on themselves in big emergencies unless it’s the only way to keep them on their feet. Numerous medics have been hospitalized from days spent on their feet with boo-boos.
  • It ever a situation should occur in which only certain operatives may be saved, the pecking order is as follows; fight-capable medics, 2X4 technology experts, medics, experienced operatives, Leaduhs, and jack-of-all trades operatives.
  • (In Sectuh v, that would mean Kuki, Hoagie, Abby, Nigel, then Wally)
  • Kids Next Door bases are open to adults and teenagers to protect them from extreme weather emergencies. No operative has ever been killed in a weather emergency inside their own treehouse.
  • Spies and other high-danger operatives are given Sleepy Time Pills- a medication that will put them into a coma- in case they get caught. They can only be awoken by a specific type of food- the vegetable you hate most.
  • Rachel’s only had to use her’s once. She was out for three months.
  • There has never once been a Head of Decommissioning flee their 13th birthday. This is because operatives are legally allowed to subdue and erase any Head at any time. They’re too dangerous to be left unseen to.
  • Patton is the only operative to ever survive being trapped underground for a month without any food or supplies. It permanently changed him.
  • Abby follows the Candy Code or whatever it is candy hunters use just as religiously as she does orders, unless the two come into conflict. She’s an operative first.
  • Still, technically, Stickybeard could pop up in the treehouse when Abby’s entertaining some operatives in her bar and ask for a peaceful drink and she’d be forced to oblige.
  • Animal operatives aren’t Decommissioned- nobody is sure how the process would affect them.
  • Very few every day operatives are actually aware of Numbuh 5′s candy addiction. Other candy addicts, yeah, but they don’t want to tarnish the prestige of Sectuh V.
  • The Kids Next Door reaches all corners of the globe. Literally. Name a high-ranking government official- KND has an operative somewhere in the family. They could very literally take over the world if a Soopreme Leaduh got up the gumption to.
  • All operatives take a vow to put kids over everything, including their families, just in case such a day will come.
  • High-ranking operatives are required to have sound-proofed rooms. Wouldn’t want confidential information getting out because one of them talks in their sleep.
  • It’s been stated that teens have more advanced tech than kids, which means that adults are the most advanced. The fact that the KND consistently comes out on top shows that they’re the most adaptable.
  • There has never been a team that operate like Sectuh V, though there’ll be plenty to follow.

Magical ability is probably present innately in a person from birth in the da universe it’s just that most thedosian cultures aren’t actively looking for it in their kids because it’s a “bad” thing so like. Kids like Anders and Fiona who didn’t “manifest” until adolescence could probably communicate with spirits and do subtle things (i.e. That healing aura headcanon for anders I saw a while back) and all that since they were little kids but they just never presented in any obvious way until they were older (anders setting the barn on fire, Fiona killing her abuser, etc). Meanwhile, Merrill, who grew up Dalish, her birth clan gave her to clan Sabrae when she was four, so it’s entirely possible they knew she was a mage even earlier than that, and it’s probably because magic is valued in her culture whereas it isn’t in andrastian belief systems.

Haleigh Cummings (5) disappeared some time between the night of February 9, 2009, and the early hours of the next day. That night, she and her younger brother, who was 3, were staying under the care of 17 year old Misty Croslin (pictured above), their father’s live in girlfriend. The father, Ronald Cummings (also pictured, with Misty), was working that night and arrived to their trailer at around 3 am. By that time, Haleigh was gone.

According to Misty, she’d gone to sleep at around 10 pm in the same room as the children, but had woken up shortly before Ronald’s arrival to find Haleigh missing and the back door of the house held open with a cinder block. Police found no signs of forced entry. Haleigh’s little brother claimed to have seen a man in black take his sister but it’s uncertain how seriously his account was taken, given his age, and even his own father dismissed it later.

All this happened in Satsuma, Florida, the same state that was at that time in the midst of the Casey Anthony case. In fact, February 10, 2009, the day Haleigh was reported missing, was the same day of the memorial service for Caylee Anthony, whose remains had been found two months earlier.

And just like in Caylee’s case, the police soon started looking into Haleigh’s inner circle, particularly at Misty, who gave several inconsistent statements about the night in question and allegedly failed four polygraphs. Eventually, more than a year later, Misty and her brother Tommy, accused their cousin Joseph Overstreet of taking Haleigh. They said he’d come to the Cummings’ house to look for a machine gun and when he couldn’t find it, he took the little girl instead. Through his lawyer, Tommy Croslin claimed that Overstreet had thrown Haleigh’s body in the river. Misty said she’d lied because she was afraid of her cousin and that he’d sexually abused her when she was a kid. The river was searched and no body was found, and Overstreet has never been charged. Neither has anyone else, and Haleigh’s fate remains a mystery.

As you can probably imagine by now, Haleigh wasn’t being raised in the best circumstances. Ronald had fought and got custody of the two children because their mother, Crystal Sheffield, had admitted to using cocaine and wasn’t keeping up with Haleigh’s doctors appointments, which she needed because she had Turner Syndrome. It was a bit ironic though, since Ronald had several arrests in his record for drug trafficking and in 2010 was sentenced to 15 years in jail for the same type of crime. Along with him, Tommy and Misty Crosling (who married Ronald a month after Haleigh’s disappeareance and divorced him six months later), were also convicted for drug trafficking: Tommy got 15 years and Misty 25.

Anyway, the real villain of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was the government and no one can convince me otherwise. MACUSA:

  • fails to notice the Director of Magical Security and head of Magical Law Enforcement has been replaced by an international magical terrorist for several weeks at least, even though he is in constant contact with the highest ranking MACUSA officials, including President Picquery, even though he’s probably only using Polyjuice potion to achieve this, therefore having to be constantly doing out of character things, like drinking hourly from a hip flask while working, probably, and sentencing people to death without trials
  • fails to do anything, at least on screen, or exhibit any care that their Direct of Magical Security and head of Magical Law Enforcement is probably being Barty Crouched somewhere, with hair ripped out of his head and imperiused so that he can be imitated effectively, since for a replacement scheme to work, he needs to be alive, á la Goblet of Fire
  • stripped a competent auror of her position because she defended a magical child from abuse. They don’t know Credence is an obscurial, but he apparently stands out instantly as being from magical lineage, i.e. seeming to be a squib, meaning he isn’t a muggle/no-maj and therefore even with their effed up no-maj relation laws they could and should be protecting him and giving him a place in society. Also, Mary Lou Barebone is abusing all the children she’s adopted, and MACUSA knows and instead of helping, you know, protecting god damn orphan children, they demoted the one witch with any god damn integrity.
  • are actually protecting the Second Salemers, i.e. the people calling for witches to be burned at the stake again, which kind of threatens the statute of secrecy doesn’t it? Since people as high ranking as a presidential candidate’s brother believe them and their voices are being heard. But no, since an auror attempted to stop the abuse of a child, they are allowing these no-maj’s (and non-no-maj’s, since both Credence and Modesty at least seem to have some powers) threaten the international statute of secrecy. This at the same time as protecting the statute with stupid, small things like beast extermination and not allowing no-majs and wizards/witches to be friends or lovers, which is horrific. As other people have pointed out, what does this mean for no-maj/muggle born witches and wizards? Nonsense. But PIcquery is fine for wizards and witches to get drunk during prohibition, sure.
  • President Picquery refuses to listen to a competent ex-auror, who appears in front of her with a culprit already in custody, she does not even allow an explanation. Picquery later gets angry at Porpentina for not telling her what had happened sooner, when TIna appears in front of her with the same man and the same (looking) case. Yes, because that’s logical. Picquery is just in general a terrible leader and a terrible human being, which I’ve talked about before.
  • In a room with every magical world leader, none of them are willing to look at the evidence, or listen to the professional in the field, and admit that it is possible that magical children might be being abused to the point of becoming obscurials, even though, in at least America, they can’t keeps tabs on every magical child because they have no way to check on no-maj-born kids because of their effed up laws, and they refuse to help the no-maj-born kids they do know about, i.e. the Second Salemers. All these government leaders are so determined to not be wrong/scapegoat a beast that they put countless people’s lives in danger, including those of children. “There hasn’t been an obscurial in centuries.” “I literally saw one three months ago what the hell are you talking about!?”
  • actually behave worse than the darkest wizard who ever lived, at that point in history. They’re at least as bad as him, if in different ways. Graves/Grindelwald listens to people when they obviously have information, no matter their position. Is Grindelwald a monster? Heck yes, he manipulates and abuses a child (I’m counting Credence as a child, ok, he’s probably in his late teens, but considering he doesn’t seem to be able to escape his mother, even legally, I’d put him at 17, i.e. not an adult), he has killed and attacked countless people, he’s partially responsible for Ariana Dumbledore’s death, he wants to use an abused and tormented child for his own gain, he sentences Newt and Tina to death, he’s a horrible person and I’m not on his side, but neither am I on the side of MACUSA. Grindelwald doesn’t strike me as another Voldemort, i.e. pure evil, he seems more he like he knows exactly how to manipulate the discontent and downtrodden, and he wouldn’t gain this support for “the greater good” if the government weren’t failing so many wizards and witches already.
  • has a torture death chamber that they can apparently send people to without trial, which is just as bad as Azkaban. I don’t even need to go into why this is so horrible. Even if you support the death penalty (which I sure as hell don’t), you can’t support the chamber of showing you your worst and best memories as you slowly sink into a burning acidic fiery death pool. That’s inhuman.
  • also, despite a magizoologist, a competent ex-auror and ministry employee, and the Director of Magical Security and head of Magical Law Enforcement telling them not to do it, and showing that they knew how to help Credence, MACUSA still executed a child on President Picquery’s orders, and there are no repercussions for that. This is not even a mercy killing, because Credence has already proved that when treated with compassion, he is skilled enough to survive and prosper, even as an obscurial. (Is it possible he survived? Considering what Hayes has said and that little whisp at the end, yes, but that doesn’t change the fact that MACUSA tried to kill him.)
  • they were also entirely willing to let Newt try his Thunderbird Swooping Evil venom plan, even though Newt has only theorized about this, and never actually attempted it, and they have no idea what the side effects could be. To save themselves, they released an untested substance into New York’s water supply, and the water cycle in general, with no idea of how it would work. What memories will actually be lost? Will it be effective? What adverse effects might there be? How will wizards be immune, when it’s in the water supply? This was a bad plan, and MACUSA risked a lot letting it go forward.
  • Picquery at the end is just a bad leader. “We owe you everything- gtfo.” “We owe you a debt- obliviate your friend who had a massive hand in saving our necks and many, many lives.” “I just said it was ok to kill a child- do what I say.” She is a very, very bad leader, who canonically cares more about letting wizards drink than she does about the lives of no-majs, no-maj born and squib kids, children suffering abuse, her Director of Magical Security and head of Magical Law Enforcement probably being locked in a box somewhere, the truth, and whether someone can be saved or not. She is just another Fudge,  but ten times worse.

TL;DR: MACUSA, President Picquery and global magical goverments as a whole are portrayed as villains in this film, and it’s very easy to imagine how Grindelwald found support when the international situation is so critical; Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is a few steps away from advocating the murder of the bourgeoisie and I entirely support this reading.

i cant describe the level of frustration i feel when i talk with my mom about how she abused me and she just denies every fucking thing to the point where she made me believe she had some kind of disorder that messed with her memory

I quote her. “I never said that, stop making shit up.”

I show her pictures of bruises. “You’re just trying to blame this on me.”

I show her documents ive written afterwards so i dont forget. “You always were a great actor/liar. You probably made even yourself believe it.”

I get my brother to confirm. “Wow, I always knew you two were conspiring against me, but this? What did i do to deserve such disrespectful, ungrateful asshole-kids?”

Honestly I can picture Tweek giving 0 shits about his dad when he grows up and realizes how awful he was, but I think he'll have a quite complicated relationship with his mom. I kind of think that his mom cares for him and in her way loves him, but is unable to understanding him and probably would have liked to have a more "normal" kid. And Tweek is aware of this and appreciate some of her attemps to bond but he can't ignore the part she played on his childhood's traumas so... it's complicated

^^^^ yup ^^^^^

I hate Richard, I hate Richard and how he exploits Tweek. Both of Tweek’s parents seem to brush his problems under a rug, but I can’t help but think about Helen and her trying to support the kids in Gnomes.

She was against using the kids for Richard’s platform from the beginning. Now, I’m not erasing her inclusion on Tweek’s mental abuse. She definitely was all for giving all of the kids coffee, she helped Richard with the screwed up ‘lesson’ to avoid child abduction in the home, etc. I feel like she’s what kind of happens to a LOT of the South Park moms, which is their detachment from situations that put them in the back burner to their husbands’ actions. She seems to be mostly just going along with whatever Richard does other than the Harbucks protest.

I’ve seen fics hc her or seem to characterize her without explicitly stating, as having some mental illness herself tho and I kind of like it since these things can be hereditary and could explain her detachment from Tweek

Car Rides and Hoodies- A Camp Camp Ficlet

I blame @spatziline and @forestwater87 for this. But their stuff is awesome so check them out if you don’t already know who they are. This takes place immediately after the season 2 finale so if you haven’t seen that, don’t read this. With that being said, enjoy!

It had been slightly heartwarming to watch Max, the most difficult camper Gwen and David had seen in years, open up to them. Undercut by it was the fact that they had had to force it out of him, force him to tears. Gwen, normally she didn’t care about making a kid cry if they didn’t sue the camp or it didn’t involve her crapshoot of a job in any way. But seeing a kid, not even at the age where a kid should be so jaded about the world, and yet was was heartbreaking. She and David shared the front seats while Max sat in the middle of the backseat. Gwen glanced at him through the rear view mirror as they began the drive back to Camp Campbell.

There was something else that caught her attention, something she hadn’t thought of before now. Max despised the camp, that was true, but surely his parents had allowed him to pack more than the yellow camp shirt that had been given to everyone. And despite being up near the mountains, the weather during the summer was sweltering on the most comfortable of days. Yet despite that, Max always wore that hoodie of his. That same one, even tossing out a duplicate his parents had in fact sent him. It sent her psych degree side on high alert. She remembered learning during orientation (crappy though it had been) that kids and other abuse victims often wore long sleeved garments to hide the markers of abuse. Nurf didn’t bother Max, and she couldn’t help but wonder….

She glanced up at him again through the mirror. David for once in his life seemed content simply to enjoy the quiet. Max himself was letting the rhythm of the car lull him to sleep. Neither counselor could blame him, it had been an emotionally exhausting day for everyone, a ten year old’s fatigue was probably doubled.

“David,” Gwen whispered, trying to get his attention while not waking up Max.

“Yes?” David looked at her as she kept her eyes on the road.

“I think,” Gwen bit her lip, uncertain if she should say anything as David took the wounds of the world to heart and this new ground with Max was as solid as a frozen stream in spring, “How much of Max’s home life was mentioned in the paperwork?”

David’s chipper demeanor instantly sobered, “There wasn’t much to go on, you know that.” She had been the one trying to stop him earlier.

“Do you remember anything?” Gwen pressed, “Like contact information other than home or cell numbers? Like a job?”

“Why do you want to know all that?”

On the off chance the little shit wasn’t all the way asleep yet Gwen lowered her voice even further, “I want to know just what type of people Max’s parents are. Couldn’t even come to parent day when we sent out communications about it well in advance. Didn’t even call to let us know they weren’t coming. And did you ever notice that Max never takes that hoodie off?”

“What’s wrong with wearing a hoodie?” David, just as naive as a child David, pressed.

“Abuse victims will often try to cover the signs of the abuse,” Gwen answered, “I know it’s been too long for us to find any bruises, but if there are scars on his arms…”

“He wouldn’t want anyone to see them,” David finished, eyes growing wide with horror, “Well what do we do? Should we ask him about it?”

“Right now?” Gwen hissed, “He barely trusts us as is, you really think he’d tell us about something like that?”

“Maybe not when he’s fully awake,” David agreed, “but if he’s half asleep?”

“It’ll have to wait,” Gwen said as they pulled into the campgrounds. The parents were gathered as if they had seen something they couldn’t believe. And Cameron Campbell was (as usual) nowhere to be seen. Still those looks of shock weren’t anything good.

“Take care of Max,” Gwen instructed as she parked, “I’ll try and figure out what’s going on here.”

“Roger that,” David agreed making the Camp Campbell sign of salute.

It was but an hour or so later that she had learned of what happened to the conman of a boss she had. And now she was left wondering where to go from here. Thanks to the former CEO they didn’t have much money left, and with the agents Miller being the ones to catch him, it was likely the place was going to be shut down. And as much as she hated this place, being left without a job in the middle of summer was about the worst thing that could happen. The parents had decided to bid their children goodnight and sleep in their pre-prepared tents. Gwen went to find David and hopefully inform him about what had happened in their absence.

She found him in their shared cabin, staring morosely at the set that wasn’t even on. His whole countenance exuded sadness, and immediately Gwen knew that whatever conversation had happened without her wasn’t good.

“Ream you out for getting too close too fast, did he?” She asked, taking the armchair next to his.

“It would have been easier if he had,” David let out a mirthless laugh, “He said that he’d heard what we were talking about and called us dipsh- well, idiots for thinking his parents might beat him.” There was a pause, as though David were trying to shore up his nerves for what was coming next, “And then, he curled in on himself, and said that sometimes he wished they did, because at least then they’d be paying him some attention. Have you ever heard anything more heartbreaking?”

Gwen couldn’t answer verbally, because the words just wouldn’t come. How fucked up was it that a ten year old boy would wish to be physically abused by his parents because it was the only way, in his mind, that they would notice him. And then his behavior at camp so far made more sense than ever. As much as he hated “getting caught” it was a way for him to be noticed among the throng of other children they had to worry about. Even today, he’d thrown food at the other parents, and that’s when their focus had been completely on him, not worrying about whatever crazy order Campbell might give them next.

“And then,” David sniffed, “He told me about Mr. Honeynuts, how his grandfather had given it to him when he was small, how it was the only reminder that someone in his family saw him, noticed him, loved him.”

“And what did you say to that?” Gwen asked.

“What could I say?” David asked in response, “All I wanted to do was give him a hug, but I knew he wouldn’t want that. So, I patted his head, drew the covers back up, tucked him in, and said goodnight.”

“And I’m guessing he didn’t say anything back?”

“Not until he thought I was out of earshot,” David sighed, “Just another day at Camp Campbell huh?”

Speaking of Campbell, Gwen sighed, “Look, I hate to be the bearer of worse news than today has already wrought, but…”

She explained what had happened to Campbell because of them. And for once David didn’t look mortified that he had let his hero down. Was he upset that in all likelihood the camp would close? Yes, but maybe it was better that way. Camp wasn’t the way it used to be, and there just wasn’t enough of them to turn it around right now. Maybe someday, but not today.

“I mean,” Gwen said, already hating herself for the idea, “We still have a few more weeks of summer, and Erid’s parents are government, maybe if you could convince them we might get enough funding to finish the season on a strong note.”

With shining eyes David looked up at her, “You really think so?” He asked, optimism shining like a lighthouse beacon.

Gwen shrugged, “Honestly? No, but I’m a jaded cynic. I do believe, however, if there’s anyone who can convince them, it’s you.”

Immediately David jumped out of his seat, pacing and muttering to himself. How he could have any energy after a day like this was a mystery to her.

“What are you doing?” Gwen asked him, “Isn’t it about time we go to bed?”

“Bed?” David questioned,“There’s no time for bed! There’s so much to do! Business plans to put together, proposals to draft, and there’s another matter I want to look into…” Gwen knew without him saying a word that it involved Max, “So what do you say CBFL? Will you help me?”

And somehow she knew this latest harebrained scheme would end up involving her. She checked the time, knowing David this would take all night, “You and Quartermaster are handling the little brats for breakfast and morning activity tomorrow, while I sleep in. That’s my price.”

“But Gwen-”

“Take it or leave it,”

David pouted for a moment, but Gwen remained impassive until he agreed.

So… first Camp Camo fic, hope I did alright, to everyone who enjoyed it, thank you and I love you so much!
