It’s not the attempt at a joke about the would-be Treasury Secretary’s signature that bugs me (and which I’ve already talked about). It’s the mention of Picasso.

One, Picasso did more than just cubism, even if that’s what he’s famous for. Two, that doesn’t even look cubist! I understand most people have a small reference pool for art (I certainly have no expertise on the subject), but I know that cubism isn’t just scribbles or random shapes. You knew when Picasso drew a woman.

If you wanted to mix a “My child could draw that” cliche with a limp-wristed slap at Jack Lew, couldn’t you at gone with Jackson Pollock? Or is that outside your frame of reference, you hack?
