With 2012 being the year of SpaceGhostpurrp’s signing the “RVIDER KLAN” have been given their time to shine worldwide. Klan members and affiliates like Metro Zu, Sorta Human, Main Attractionz have been given a whole knew audience and reveled in a new global appreciation of the sound. A mist the movement you have members Amber London, Denzel Curry, Key Nyata, Yung Simmie, Lofty305, Chris Travis, all making contributions to the movement. What contribution cannot go unnoticed though is that of Ethelwulf’s 20 track Mixtape ‘The Wolf Gang’s Rodolphe’ thus far it’s probably the most consistent mixtape from a core Klan member outside Purrps own releases this year.
His delivery reminiscent at times of Bone Thugs or birthed in the mind of a young Lord Infamous with his light devilish tone but Ethelwulf clearly comes into own. His track choice and his appreciation for the sound is pure you find nothing phoney here. The mixtape takes you on a full journey with a combination of Disc1 & Disc2 part Chopped and Screwed of course a full journey into the familiar Memphis and southern sound of the 90’s. I caught up with Ethelwulf to discuss his thoughts on his release and future projects.
