R12

Exhausted Wehrmacht troopers travelling in convoy on a BMW R12 and sidecar of the 2./Motorcycle Infantry Company, 8th Panzer Division, somewhere on the Eastern Front in 1941.

During the campaigns that spread across Europe and into the Soviet Union, motorcycle troopers served a variety of functions including chauffeuring officers, delivering dispatches and even hot meals, and scouting on patrol. Motorcycles also were point vehicles taking the brunt of battle, sometimes as specially equipped tank destroyers. As with all motorcyclists, there was a kinship among these soldiers who called themselves “kradfahrer.” They rode exposed without the armor plating of the Panzers, without the safety of hundreds of foot soldiers beside them—moving targets, as it were, or sniper magnets. And then there were minefields, artillery fire, and strafing aircraft to contend with. (warfarehistorynetwork.com)

Free Crochet Pattern: chubby striped bear amigurumi (and bunny!)

Alright, time for a new crochet pattern! This time it’s for this cute little striped bear, which is actually a revamp of an old pattern from maybe 5 years ago.

Unfortunately I can’t find any pictures of it, but this new version is way cuter anyway!!

I made 2 different critters with this pattern & they’re identical except for color changes and the ears. Let’s get started!

Tiny lil pug pattern!

This is just a little pattern i whipped up inspired by some adorable pictures i saw.

I used a light tan wool for the body, legs, and tail, and a mid brown wool for the ears. The face is embroidered using brown, pink, and black thread. (feel free to use buttons or felt or improvise for the face if you dont want to embroider though haha) I used a size 3 crochet hook, but a slightly larger hook is also fine.
