Sad to see the Olympics are over, but we had a great time saying farewell at #Pumayard this weekend, thanks to DJs Trevor Nelson and Manny Norte,Professor Green, Usain Bolt (!), David Rodigan and Norman Jay’sGood Times #indeed - now looking forward to the Paralympic games!
There’s a torch en route to London Town. (We heard it left extra early to beat the traffic and ensure it gets there before Team Jamaica. They’re pretty fast.) Every stop along the way builds its momentum and oh, heck, why not—we’re going to keep adding to it.
Get your mobile device calendar ready… Ready? Here we go.
The PUMA YARD at The Boiler House in East London is adding MORE artists and events to its roster. The venue will host several marquee events in the 17-day-and-night extravaganza. Festivities kick off on July 27th when Groove Armada headlines the PUMA YARD’s opening ceremonies, supported by Redlight and Kissy Sell Out.
Jamaica marks its 50th Independence Day on August 6th and we’re throwing one massive birthday bash, headlined by international reggae star Gyptian. He will be joined by Saxon Sounds and Trojan Soundsystem.
August 11th will see a blow-out performance from the inimitable Professor Green. He brings an entourage equipped with beats: Clement Marfo & The Frontline, Ruby Goe, and a host of DJs.
Finally, Norman Jay brings his legendary “Good Times“ party to the PUMA YARD for the last hurrah on August 12th, treating the crowd to a mash-up of party anthems. David Rodigan MBE will also be spinning some of the best reggae tunes.
As if that weren’t enough, many of London’s most popular club nights will host their shows at the PUMA YARD. Remember, admission is free but advance ticketing is required. To apply, fans must visit www.puma.com/yard and register for access. Fans can stay up to date by liking PUMA Facebook page (www.facebook.com/puma) and following the @PUMA Twitter feed (www.twitter.com/puma).
Can’t wait? Neither can we. Remember to bring your dancing shoes. In fact, bring several. (Or buy more when you get here. We have a PUMA Store on site.) Seventeen days and nights are more than any one pair can handle. Read more info on the YARD here.
Walking down Brick Lane the week before the Olympics I spotted this Puma takeover which looks GREAT and I’m DYING to get into. Finally I’ve got organised enough to sort a day pass to investigate what’s happening behind those walls. Puma have nailed the Bolt buzz for these Olympics, putting all their sponsorship eggs in one basket (case) was a risky move but the legend that is Bolt delivered! Massive kudos to Puma.
