This Friday night is that much better, because The Chainsmokers dropped a brand new one. The boys from New York go a trap and pop route on Don’t Let Me Down, which features Philadelphia’s Daya on guest vocals. Don’t Let Me Down is a soaring anthem in every way, a gloriously rousing electronic ballad on which Daya reminds me of both Sia and Elliphant with her magnificent voice. Purchase Don’t Let Me Down on iTunes. And if you’re in the Bay, you have plenty of chances to catch The Chainsmokers live this weekend due to Super Bowl 50.
It’s a beautiful affair on German producer Delusion’s breathtaking remix of British producer SG Lewis’ Shivers. In fact, the chill electronic makeover is much appropriate of the song’s title, its sparkling effervescence, gentle future slices, and lush ambiance ready to set your soul quivering. Delusion’s innovative re-imagining of the song seems to meld celestial Odesza and textured Point Point into one refreshing, intoxicating gem.

Elephante’s new single is entitled Black Ivory, a much intriguing name considering the Los Angeles producer’s moniker. Black Ivory, unlike some of Elephante’s bangers of past, sees him going heaving future bass and trap in an exuberant manner. It’s a fully intoxicating, heavy hitting experience, dusted with some of Elephante’s signature electro and progressive sound. The majestic track is certainly dark, like a magnificent and stalwart call to noble arms. Perhaps by Black Ivory, he’s referencing the plight of wild elephants that we so often read about in the news today. Even if I’m totally off the mark, Black Ivory is an empowering, epic listen that leaves me feeling like I can take on those evil men, and be the protector of the pachyderm great. Black Ivory is a free download if you head over to its Soundcloud page.

Birdy’s current single, Keeping Your Head Up, receives a dazzling remix treatment from Dutch DJ and producer Don Diablo. It’s a high energy edit that highlights the beauty of Birdy’s powerful vocals, a voice that carries much more robustness than some would realize from her earlier, wispier tunes. Keeping Your Head Up keeps my head up and bopping fiercely with its gorgeously breathtaking build ups as well as its future tinted and progressive hued house bounce.
