As a pretty big of Montreal fan, I’m glad they seem to be edging away from the electro-funk sound and getting closer to the 60’s psych/folk pop tunes of their earlier work. Kevin Barnes has said their new album will be inspired by Neil Young and Flying Burrito Brothers and that definitely shows in the twangy, stripped-down first single, “fugitive air”.
