Reblog if you'll always be a Classic Voltage Game girl
Now, let me clarify.
I started playing these games when Pirates in Love, Be My Princess, Seduced in the Sleepless City, In Your Arms Tonight, Love Letter from Thief X and My Forged Wedding were the only games that existed in English. (I don’t count A Knight’s Devotion or My Sweet Bodyguard because they were “new games” when I first started playing).
These games will always be the “Classic Voltage” games for me. I’m not saying that there’s anything wrong with the new games and I’m glad Voltage has grown to these heights. It’s really spectacular and I’m so happy that the company has grown overseas.
I just…can’t help but have a deeper, more potent fondness for the old games.
With Be My Princess only having five side stories left to translate (the two birthday ones and three Christmas ones), I can’t help but feel like I’m saying goodbye to a part of myself. Sure, IYAT was my first Voltage game, but, BMP was the first game I got really invested in. Call me crazy, call me pathetic, call me anything, but these men were my boys. They made me cry, made me smile, made me laugh - I felt alive whenever I played it. I fully submersed myself in their world and I don’t think I ever really left the same person I was going in. I know I can always play the routes again and I will. I know I will. It’s just…really bittersweet. I hope Voltage creates more side stories for BMP because I think this game really was their #1 moneymaker.
The classic games that are being updated now are MFW, LLFTX, and IYAT. Some of these updates are way overdue (Hello IYAT) and some desperately need updates (Looking at you PIL and SITSC).
These games will always be my absolute favorites. The new games are nice and all, but the games above are the closest to my heart.
