Today was the day I tell one of my best friends, Jacob Whitesides, how i really feel. Since Jacob plays music for a living, I decided to ask his tour manager if they could slip me in somewhere to perform a song for him. When they asked why, I told them truthfully that this was the only way I could communicate with him. They agreed to keep it a surprise and let me come onstage after he preforms a few songs.
I smiled at Jacob mouthing “Good luck” to him before he went on stage. He laughed sweetly and mouthed back “Thank you Y/n.” Then he turned around and walked onto the stage besides him. The crowd screaming at his first step.
As soon as he went out, the backstage team scurried around me, making sure I had everything and I was ready. A woman dragged me away from the stage as Jacob began his first song.
“Y/n, here’s a little dress for you. I just thought it would be nice.” She rushed. I nodded as she continued and began to help me undress. “So you’re gonna go on after he sings his new single, You’re Perfect.” She notified me, helping me pull the dress on.
“Okay thank you.” I smiled to her. She smiled sweetly and nodded as she pulled out some makeup and began to expertly paint my face. I just let her work her magic, no point in denying somebody’s help.
After a few songs and a lot of work, I looked at my practically perfect reflection happily. My feet sported beautiful silver high heels, complimented by a black skirt that was wrapped tightly around my waist and flaring outwards but cutting off mid thigh. My top was a white, fitted crop shirt. My natural hair texture falling long and thick down my shoulders. My makeup complimenting my features and adding a beautiful finish to my face. I thanked the people who helped me, then waited at the side of the stage as Jacob began ‘You’re perfect’. I swayed with the music, heart pounding hard.
“you make me nervous…" He sang.
"Right now i’m the nervous one.” I sighed to myself.
As the song ended, the woman who helped me nudged me forward. I caught myself walking onstage, moving fluidly. The girls all cheered with slight confusion. Jacob just smiled, but then traced all the girls gazes to behind him. His eyes met mine, and i swear I saw them darken with lust when he saw me.
“Y-Y/n?” Jacob asked.
“We-uh- I have a surprise for you.” I loudly announced.
“What is it?” Jacob asked curiously. Without words, I gestured to his guitar. He got what I was asking for, and he quickly handed it over to me. A backstage worker ran out and placed a stool in front of the mic. I laughed awkwardly and sat down. I sighed and began speaking.
“For anybody who didn’t know, My name is Y/n. And I’ve been friends with Jacob for a long long time now. And I have to tell him something, but I’m not really sure how to say it.” I looked out into the crowd. “I’m a little awkward, and not very good. So please, bear with me.” I laughed awkwardly, then began playing.
“I wanna love you and treat you right.
I wanna love you every day and every night.
We’ll be together with a roof right over our heads.
We’ll share the shelter of my single bed.
We’ll share the same room. For Jah provide the bread.
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love? Is this love that I’m feelin’?
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love? Is this love that i’m feelin’?”
The crowd gasped with excitement, I closed my eyes to leep focus on the song.
“I…..i’m willing and able.
So i throw my cards on your table.
I wanna love you, and treat you right.
I wanna love you everyday and every night.
We’ll be together, with a roof right over our heads
We’ll share the shelter, of my single bed.
We’ll share the same room. For Jah provide the bread.
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love? Is this love that i’m feelin’?
Is this love? Is this love? Is this love that i’m feelin’?”
I finished playing the music and let out a loud sigh once I finished. I looked over to Jacob, who looked stunned and empty. An awkward silence was filled with young girls’ cheers. I bowed to the crowd and ran off stage, leaving Jacob alone and in shock. I watched him from backstage, not acknowledging the people saying good job to me. Jacob snapped to his senses shortly. He ran to where I placed the guitar and put it on himself. He spoke shakily into the mic.
“Y/n! Come back!” I made yet another entrance to the stage, girls cheering once again. Jacob spoke hurriedly. “I’m a little awkward too, so here’s something that makes a little more sense then what i could jumble.” He smiled and began playing kiss me by Ed Sheeran.
When the song ended, I was the one in shock. Jacob took his guitar off and sat down in the stool. I received a mic from a backstage worker.
“So what now?” I asked Jacob. The girls all started chanting.
“KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS KISS!” they screamed. I blushed.
“Well, if the song says so.” I walked closer to Jacob, he stood up.
“You guys have no idea how long i’ve been waiting for this.” He announced before kissing me passionately in front of all of the audience. They cheered so loud I almost couldn’t hear. We pulled away from each other and stared lovingly into one anothers eyes.
“So i guess we’re together?” I asked him.
“Together.” He smiled and kissed my forehead. The girls screamed once more. We laughed as he slung his arm around me. “So, ladies and gentlemen. You heard it here first!” He smiled.
“You sound like a news reporter.” I laughed.
“Well folks that’s it from us. Coming from C/n, Jacob and Y/n are out!” he laughed as we walked off stage, cheering coming from behind us.
