9.77. On a wet night at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow, Usain Bolt earns his fourth World Championship gold and regains his 100m world title with a season’s best 9.77 seconds. The Jamaican overtook Gatlin in the final moments, where the American had to settle for silver after 9.85 seconds. Bolt’s compatriot, Nesta Carter, ran a 9.95 to earn himself bronze.

Aug 11, 2012… Usain Bolt and the rest of the Jamaican 4x100m Relay Team, Nesta Carter, Michael Frater and Yohan Blake captured the Gold Medal today in a legendary encore Olympic performance as Jamaica became the first foursome in history to eclipse 37 seconds, crossing the finish line in 36.84 seconds, and breaking their own world record of 37.04 from 2011 and the Olympic mark of 37.10. not to mention finishing well ahead of silver medalist United States. Bolt ends the 2012 Olympics with three gold medals, giving him six in two Olympics and cementing his status as history’s greatest sprinter.

Team Jamaica is 5-deep for the 4x100 meter relay and are the presumptive favorites to win the gold medal. They are so deep at 100 meters that even with talk of sitting world-record holder Usain Bolt for the relay, they are still the favorites.
