Luffy with a expirenced S/O

You didn’t ask for any hcs in particular so just general Luffy with experienced s/o!

General Luffy with experienced s/o:

  • Luffy always asks them every single question ever. “Hey what does this do?” “HEY, WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?” “Can I eat this?” It doesn’t matter if it relates to a relationship, or an adventure they’re on.
  • Relies on them to be his sort of ‘brain.’ “This plan will work because s/o said it will!” “I-I didn’t s-” “IT’LL BE GREAT!”
  • It’s sort of like babysitting your own boyfriend, but in a good way.
A musica?

Mainframes and Nmap - Together at last

Today I pushed an update to the ZEDSEC Github repository. If you saw our DEFCON talk then you know I created and released a bunch of Nmap scripts. Those script, while functional, had never really been tested and they didn’t really use available Nmap functionality. On top of that there were some that needed to run (nje-info and tn3270-info) because Nmap service probes didn’t exit to detect those services. Well, I’m happy to say that is no longer the case.

With these services now being detected I could delete those two scripts and focus on making scripts that actually do stuff. Over the coming weeks I’ll be outlining each script, how its works and why/how to use them. Only a handful of these scripts have been submitted to Nmap while I work through the expectations for scripts, service probes, etc. But the scripts work.

Today I’ll outline what started me on this journey. I’m not going to explain TN3270 as a protocol in this short writeup (I’ll save that for another day and way more caffeine) but this is my favorite script by far.

When I started, all I wanted to do was download tn3270 ‘screen’. TN3270 doesn’t have what you might consider a banner. A huge amount of information is sent back and forth then the TN3270 Screen is shown:

This screen contain a little bit of information. Like, the version of the operating system, etc. But Nmap only shows basic information. The script tn3270-screen NSE script supports grabbing the screen and showing it in the output of Nmap like so:

In case you missed it:

Hopefully this serves as a nice teaser intro to Nmap and mainframes. Coming up we’ll explain how to Nmap to enumerate TSO user accounts, CICS transactions, VTAM application IDs and macros, and using Nmap to bruteforce the NJE node name.

So I didn’t get a chance to blog the 4 months I was living in Hawaii, but I did make a video! Words will never justify how incredible Oahu is and how much I miss it so I won’t even bother trying. Enjoy :)!

… [E]very person must take his life and every nation must take its history as it comes; nothing is more useless than complaining over errors that can no longer be rectified, nothing more vain than regret. Neither as judges allotting praise and blame nor as avengers seeking out the guilty should we face the past. We seek truth, not guilt; we want to know how things came about to understand them, not to issue condemnations. Whoever approaches history the way a prosecutor approaches the documents of a criminal case—to find material for indictments—had better stay away from it. It is not the task of history to gratify the need of the masses for heroes and scapegoats.
