It’s really nice to see this kind of news being reported, lots of respect for Voracek.

Every once in a while you see an NHLer go above and beyond for a good cause.

Philadelphia Flyers star forward Jakub Voracek is one of those players. According to reporter Brady Trettenero, Voracek’s sister Petra, has been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. This unfortunate news inspired Voracek to up with a way to raise both awareness and money for the cause. Voracek vowed to donate $1,000 for every point he scores, in order to help the victims of the disease through a foundation he announced Tuesday. (x)

It gives a lot of insight into the struggles that NHL players have both while playing the game but even more so after they leave and also brings to light the flaw that the NHL has regarding an exit program.

Goal Songs 3: How have we been so blind?

It’s been a few weeks but don’t worry, I haven’t forgotten my quest to pick a new goal song for every NHL team. The offseason is finally winding down but we’ve still got 10 teams left. I’ve been hard at work trying to find the best songs to eradicate Rock and Roll part 2 from Hockey once and for all.
