"have you ever kissed underwater?" With Jamilton, my good friendo ;;00
The water flowed over the jagged rocks, giving a magical glow to the chilly night air. The stones were slippery, destine to send you to your doom with one wrong step but maybe it was the fact that if he were to go down, he would leave with this night being that last thing he saw. Maybe that’s what kept him going.
From the distance he could see the white stream flowing away peacefully, causing Alexander to smile softly. He sat down, waiting for Thomas to catch up with him.
“You’re extremely slow,” Alexander called out and peered behind him to watch Thomas making his way up to Alex. He breathed heavily and placed a hand on his chest the moment he was on stable ground.
“Well excuse me for not know the shortcut unlike you.” Alexander shrugged and stood up, dusting off his swim shorts and then peeling off his shirt, casting it to the side.
“What are you planning on doing Alex?” Alexander chuckled quietly and found some stable footing on the top.
“Planning on jumping of course. Have you never been cliff diving?” He questioned.
Thomas frowned and crossed his arms. “No, and it doesn’t sound very safe at all- Alexander you could kill yourself.”
“Well, not really. You see, the water down there prevents you from going splat,” Alexander remarked with a smirk and held his hand out. “Come on, join me.” Thomas shook his head, refusing.
“Excuse me but hell to the no. I’m not risking my life.” Alexander rolled his eyes and took a step towards him, grabbing his hand and intertwining their fingers.
“Say, have you ever kissed underwater? Because we can certainly make it happen if you jump with me.” Thomas arched an eyebrow and pulled his hand away.
“No, I haven’t and I certainly don’t plan on it being with the likes of you.”
“Aw, come on Thomas, I’m not that bad.”
“That’s an understatement.” Alexander sighed and walked back to the edge of the waterfall, seeing how far he would have to dive out.
“I’ll see you down there.”
“Alexander seriously-” And Alexander jumped, pulling his knees to his chest and falling down and getting lost in the laps of water down below. Thomas’ heart stopped for a moment, eyes going wide as he looked over the edge. After a moment there was a faint shout of joy. Maybe it wasn’t scary after all. He closed his eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath and counting.
“One.” His heart was running a thousand miles per hour.
“Two..” He rocked his body back, hoping to get enough momentum to fling himself out into the water.
“Three-” He tried to stop himself, his body telling him no but the rocks had a different plan. His foot slipped and he tumbled forward.
His screams were so loud but the fell to deaf ears as everything was in a flash, hitting the water a second later. He panicked, swimming his way back up as fast as his arms could carry, and when he broke the surface he could only hear the giggling coming from Alexander, a few feet away from him.
“I take it you wanted that kiss.’ Thomas huffed and swam towards the side, wanting to find something to hang onto.
“Oh come on Thomas, don’t be a crybaby,” Alexander teased, following after him with a smirk.
“You’re an ass.”
“But you love me.”
“I have a girlfriend.”
“Hasn’t stopped you before,” Alexander cooed and pulled himself onto the larger rock as Thomas just held on, floating in the water with a frown.
“But you know I’m right.”
“Regardless-” Alexander took that chance to lean down, giving him a soft kiss on the cheek. Now to most, a kiss on the cheek would be a sign of friendship, or a polite way to greet a stranger of the opposite sex. But they both knew that a simple peck can convey as much meaning as a full-on kiss. Simple though it may be, a kiss on the cheek is special in its own, unique way.
“Come on, let’s go back to the cabin before someone notices we left.” Thomas sighed and pulled himself up, shaking his head.
